I just got email from the manager there and was told they are about a month into the project. He didn't give me a time for completion though.

Thanks for that update :) And I love your new family portrait, you have beautiful girls! :flower:

P.S. How many times do you have to stay at the WL to become a "WL Vet"?? We're looking forward to our first stay there (and our first Disney concierge!), in 59 days! :teeth:

Thanks to both posters with the info on the 7th floor renovations. Can't wait for the update.

This is the information we have posted on page one about room locations. :earsboy:

STANDARD ROOMS: All Non-Smoking rooms with 2 Queen Beds.
Located on Floors 4,5 & 6. On the North(MK) side, they face the service area. There are also 4th floor rooms that overlokk the lobby and look out to roof peaks. Lobby rooms do have balconies.

Beckie

I think she was asking about where the standard rooms with the bunk beds are. I'm curious about that as well. Does anyone know?

Can You Make requests at the Villas like you can at the Lodge? The only request I want to make is Non Smoking but it is because of health issues. My Husband and Youngest both have allergies and Asthma. They take medication for both. My FIL will also be with us and he has some medical issues that smoking also effects his breathing. Can they guarantee Non Smoking at the Villas like they did for us at the Lodge?
I am really not sure how room assignment or anything else for that matter works at the Villas. We are not DVC members and we are not renting points. Any Info would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Hello to everyone on the WL thread. I'm a big fan of WL - my wife and I stayed there in Dec. 2002, in a lakefront room. The holiday decorations, the roaring fire, the wonderful aroma of the place - all those things made me a huge WL fan!

I have a few questions I'd like to ask you to consider. My wife will be about 7 months pregnant on our next planned trip in October. That should be OK - in 2002, she was 4 months pregnant with our first child! (I think the time in the womb at WDW was a great influence on him.) This time, we'll also be travelling with our 2 1/2 year old son.

Can anyone share with me fun things to do at WL and FW for a 2+ year old? We'll probably spend a lot of time at the resort and not try to hit the parks too hard - I'm sure we'll boat over to MK a few times, and visit AK.

Also, does anyone have any insight on the Villas? We're thinking of renting points, and maybe use this trip to determine whether to buy into DVC. Does anyone have any idea about which room locations are best at the VWL? Should we stay in the Lodge instead?

Thanks for your help. I look forward to your input.

Plan to stop at the mercantile and pick up a beach toy set of some type. Head down to the beach by the lake and setup an umbrella near a table. You'll have plenty to keep you busy there and for the adults, it's close to the pool bar!! :) If you are lucky, a family of ducks will pass on through heading towards the main pool area. They are pretty brave too so they may get close. Our kids love it!

Just to the other side of the main pool area there is the kiddy pool. Also lots of fun. Your 2+ year old will also find some friends to play with. It will be lots of fun.

Most of all, enjoy your time at Wilderness Lodge. Don't forget to pat the bears nose to make the magic begin! (Humphrey can be found in front of the mercantile at the bottom of the totem pole.)

How are they handling the Concierge lounge and rooms at this time while construction is going on? I am really on the fence about calling to upgrade our room now or try for a reduced rate when we check in? Do you think the concierge lounge is up to par during the construction?

We are not doing the parks... Well, maybe a water park. we are there to relax and celebrate 10 yrs of marriage.

We leave for the WL in 17 days! This will be our first stay at the Lodge. We usually stay at the Poly Concierge, but this time we decided to get two rooms at WL. I look forward to seeing a lot of DIS'ers there in a couple of weeks. You will not be able to miss my rowdy crew of 4 DDs (6, 4, 4, 2) and 1 DN (13). This thread has been great in getting us ready for our trip. :flower:

I was just wondering if anyone could give me a direct phone # to the general manager's office or possibly his email. Thanks! :)

Considering that they go way out off the way to make your stay the best it can be, my guess is it won't be a problem. There really is no "lounge" at this time anyway. That's what they are trying to add now.

Be carefull waiting for an upgrade at checkin.....concierge at WL has been booking up pretty well as of late. We just checked for a September visit and there was no availability!! If you can book now, I would do it. If for some reason it doesn't work out and you are not happy, tell the manager or cast members on the 7th floor that you would like to be moved to a different floor/room.

They are there to help!

Does the WL concierge level have any Jr. Suite rooms? I need that extra fold out bed that the Jr. Suite has, but I still want to treat my family to the concierge level.

Any and all help is appreciated as always...thanks

Gary

There are no junior suites on the 7th floor (only VP,Pres, and Honeymoon are there) but I believe they do come with access to the 7th floor via your room key in the elevators. All of the juniors are at the end of the wings facing Bay Lake.

Hope this helps!

Not sure what the number or email is for the General Manager or even who he/she is today (used to be Dan Cockerel but I believe he was promoted/moved to another hotel) but you can call 407-824-3200 and ask for the front desk at the hotel. They should be able to give you something.

Hi Fred,

We have stayed at the WL twice in the last few years, both times in a Jr.Suite. No one ever mentioned that we had access to the seventh floor.

Both times we ended up with the same suite too, #4123. Great room and view. I wonder if we'll luck out again this time :earboy2:

How can I find out for sure if we can do concierge from a Jr. Suite on a lower floor?

Thanks,
Gary

I am looking into it now. As soon as I get a firm answer, I'll pass it on here.

Fortunately, I feel like I know you all already. I have to chime in as most others have that you all are the nicest bunch I have encountered on these or any other forums. I have been on these boards for a good while now and I can say that honestly. I really appreciate that you all are so honest and generous with your information. I have read through all the posts and have really enjoyed it. :goodvibes
My husband and I will be staying at the lodge for the first time in December. We will be celebrating my college graduation! :cool1: I am so glad to have found this thread. So far, every question I have, has already been answered...sometimes multiple times. :rotfl: I have been to Disney multiple times including this past December. We have stayed at the CBR and the OKW. I must say, I am most excited about the Lodge. We rented points for a studio at the Villas. I still consider that the lodge. ;)
I just wanted to say Hello and thanks and to let you know that I will be hanging around for a while. Have a beautiful day.
