You can't really request a particular room #. However, you can gvie a brief description of the room 'type' you'd prefer. Then, when you check in, you can ask the CM about the room location when they give you your room number! :teeth:

Hello,
We are going to the lodge July 19th -27th.
My question is how crowded will it be at the lodge.
Are the pools packed in the afternoon?
How about the transportation/bus/boat?
I can't wait till our trip!
How is the lodge in the summer! :sunny:

Yes it WILL be crowded in the summer, but the end of July is a little more bearable than the beginning! The pool area tend to get pretty crowded in the afternoon, so you might want to try the 'quiet pool' by the WL Villas. The boat service was dependable, as well as the buses. However, there were some changes in the bus routes. And, make sure you take PLENTY of time to get to DTD! That bus makes stops at Ft W and TL!

I'm sorry I don't have time to look up this info'n. We leave for Disney in just a few days and this weekend are having unexpected house guests! My parents just gave me $100 for an "adult's night out" during our trip. They suggested we use the kid's club at WL and have a nice dinner just the 2 of us. Sounds wonderful....but will a kid's club take a 2.5 yr old?? (who isn't potty trained though could easily last a few hrs in a diaper/pull-up w/out being changed) If not, what is the in-room babysitting svcs like? We're traveling w/ ds 5.5 and dd 2.5. Thanks for the help!!!

Hey WL Experts! Have some questions of for anyone willing to humor me ;)

- how long is the trek to Ft Wilderness? Just a boatride, right?
- do they still have the tours in the morning, I read in an older Guide book that there is a Taste of the Lodge one and another one that looks are architectual aspects. We'd really love the taste one, anyone been on that?
- You can request turndown service, right? What all does that entail?
- If you drive your own car, do they hvae valet and self parking? How much is valet a day? In and out privileges? How far is self parking to walk?

All I can think of now, thanks!

I have a question about the EVENING “extra magic hour”:

At what time do restaurants accept the latest priority seating when that park has the evening “extra magic hour”?

I have posted this question on the “restaurants board”, but nobody has a sure answer :confused3

So I am asking you, WL friends: if you are going to WDW soon, please could you check while there?
THANKS SO MUCH! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I have another restaraunt/ transportation question. We have two 8:00 character breakfast seatings while staying at WL, one is CRT so we need to be at the MK by 8:00, when does the boat start running to MK on days MK doesn't open until 9:00? Would love to hop on the boat but I don't know if it will be an option. When do the buses start running? We have an 8:00 for AK breakfast too and was hoping someone could assure me we could get there on time from the MK buses. Thanks.

Sorry, children must be at least 4 years old to stay at the child care clubs.

Lesley,

The boats to MK don't start running until 8:30 am on days the park opens at 9 am. The buses usually start a little before 8am but to be sure you are there on time, I would take the boat to the Contemporary, those start at 7 or 7:30 am, then either monorail or walk from there. (Walking is quicker but it may be alot for the kids. The bus to AK... that one I'm not sure of but it will be close. You may want to check before you go just to make sure.

We just got back from WL a couple days ago and it was geat, again. Our 10th stay.

Hope this helps,
Phil

Hi Everyone,

New to this thread and have a few questions. I've booked the POFQ for Feb 06 vacation but realized after some math that I could upgrade to FW for an extra $100 or so if I get an AP. Here are some questions for you WL experts:

1) The TA said that rates won't be out until the summertime so she suggested I book at that time. Since we're talking a school vacation in Feb 06, would it be wiser for me to book at full price (approx $289/night unless the price goes up) now and have a room reserved or should I not worry about it being sold out by summer and wait to book?

2) Of course I'd love the bunk beds and I know that nothing in life is guaranteed but in all of your opinions, what's my best bet of getting them?

3) What is there for nightlife at WL?

Thanks!

Hi WL folks! Is there any way of finding out ahead of time what room I will be assigned??? We have a woodsview booked and I was hoping that we would be able to view the fireworks or electrical parade. Does anyone know if that view is available w/woodsview. If not my DH wants the ground floor so we can sit outside while the dd's(4&6) are sleeping. Oh, I'm so excited and I can't stop thinking about every thing I have read on this thread that I am begining to get a bit confused :earboy2: We leave in 10 days :cool1:

Wow, this is a long thread. I read about 12 pages and skimmed through a few.

Dh has always wanted to stay at WL. I booked us for three nights in June for our 10th anniversary. It will be me dh, dd and ds. we are going to hit a water park and just hang out at the resort for our trip.

We are booked in a woodsview room. I am considering asking what it would cost to upgrade to concierge when we check in. I think it would work well for us on this trip. Hopefully it will be available and not outrageously expensive but we shall see.

I have read about construction on the concierge level... Is there a recent update?

We are really looking forward to our stay here.

Thanks for all the great information!!

No, sorry, they will never tell you a specific room number until the room is ready to be occupied.

Let's see in December (Regular Season) I asked at check-in for the rates to upgrade to concierge:

Standard View= $70.00 additional per night
Woods View=$60.00 additional per night
Courtyard View=$50.00 additional per night

I have a trip planned in a few weeks May 26-June 5, I will be checking out the new concierge construction, not sure of your dates in June but I will post a report when I return...

Beckie,

We will be there after you. June 17-20. I will look forward to your report when you return. My dh is so escited to stay here. He has always wanted to and I want our vacation to be extra special for him.

Thanks again,
Jennifer

When you speak of the $50 concierge upgrade for a courtyard room, do you mean having concierge priveleges while staying in your courtyard room???

We've considered concierge when we made our ressies (June 17-24 @ $200/night courtyard :Pinkbounc ) and decided we really love the 5th floor views and were not overly impressed by the 7th floor views (some will call us crazy, I know...) So, we wouldn't mind having concierge priveleges while staying in our 5th floor courtyard room. :wizard:

CuteAsMinnie

The rates I posted are for a upgrade (if space is avaliable) for the 7th floor. I have heard that a guest was offered conciege access while staying on another floor, but they had requested a smoking room. :confused3 It never hurts to ask.

Hello all! I'm so excited - we're staying at WL for the first time May 24-June 1!!! I've been dreaming of this for years (and saving and saving and saving...)!!!

I've been looking for the dimensions of the in-room safes, but I can't seem to find them - can anyone give me an estimate? I'm bringing my laptop to download pictures off the digital camera each day, and I'm wondering if the laptop will fit in the safe.

Thanks!!
