I noticed that there is a honeymoon suite at the Wilderness Lodge. Has anyone stayed there and would be able to tell me if it is worth the extra cash to stay there as opposed to a standard room? I just wanted know what are the special features to the honeymoon suite. If anyone can reply, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

The Villas have high speed internet access. You will need an Ethernet connection cable. I brought my own, but you can obtain one on loan from Housekeeping. The cost is $9.95 for 24-contiguous hours and is billed to your room. I used this service in May and the service was great.

Boy, that is expensive! It is a shame that it's not complimentary. Wireless systems are pretty easy to install and very cheap to maintain. It is a shame that Disney has to charge over $10/ day after taxes.

richwdw1023... The Honeymoon Suites come with Concierge access (as they are all on the concierge floor). The rooms themselves are average size and have a king bed in them. The thing that you will find in their that you will not find in other regular rooms is a jetted tub. There are only 4 honeymoon suites, but if you ask for one of the 2 on the North side you will have a wonderful view of MK...

boswellnakia. You can do normal internet hook up at .75 cents a connection if you are only going to be on for a little bit as you are on vacation, but that is dial up and very slow. If you are in need of high speed, perhaps on a buisness trip and plan to use it then I don't think that $9.95 for a 24 hour period is to high. From my travel experience that seems to be right around industry standard for the service.

Hi, I have never stayed in one of the Honeymoon Suites yet but last May I toured one of the rooms it was large with a King Size Bed, a sitting area and a beautiful bathroom with jacuzzi . There are only 4 honeymoon suites at the lodge located on the 7th floor, each overlook the Lobby these rooms are on the Concierge Level so the service is the best.

If you would like to see some photo's of the room I saw you can click on the link below there will be a category titled Wilderness Lodge Honeymoon Suite.

Click here to see the Wilderness Lodge FAQ Photo Gallery!!

This is the link Majectic has in his signatue so you can always just go there for a quick look.

If for some unforsaken reason i need to get on the internet
during my stay in uh,,,,,,,34 days,,,,, do the villas have wireless?

Also do u think its too late to book a sleigh ride?

What date are you looking for? I called two weeks ago to book during the week of the 11th through the 17th and it was slim pickin's that week.

I'm probably not looking to go until next summer, I was just curious what the suite was like....also, thanks everyone for all the info that was offered, it was very helpful!!!

Does anyone know if the discounts for AP is usually the same?
...is the discount for Room-only the same?
What might one expect for the amount of the discount for each?
I would assume the AP would be a better deal, right?

For the past two times rates have come out, the AP's have been slightly (but not too much) better than room-only codes.

For example, a room-only code might be $80 off rack rate per night while an AP rate might be $85 off rack per night.

Can't wait to hear more from you about your stay at WDW, especially WL and to chat about DVC!! Talk to you soon...

Your friend,

Does anyone know if they also decorate the lobby over at the villas for Christmas?

Our stay at WL was so wonderful(we had a 2 bedroom), that we are going next Dec. but I can't decide between 2 rooms in the lodge or renting points for another villa. I really want to see decorations, and I would also need some sort of code on the lodge side and from reading these posts they might be hard to come by.

OHHH what to do, what to do:confused:

hockey mom

The Villas @ Wilderness Lodge are beautiful at Christmas, they have a tree in the Atrium and the Iron Spike Room is also decorated. Very cozy and there are two fireplaces on the 1st floor to sit in a rocking chair or overstuffed leather chair and drink hot chocolate.

I'll probably have an AP by then, but will need two rooms for our group. Can I get the AP rates for both rooms? or do I have to have an AP person in each room?

To have a chance of seeing the MK fireworks, I was told to request "Woods/Lodge view, in the North Wing, 5th or 6th floor". Do they have standard rooms in this section; or do I need a higher class of room reserved if I am asking for these preferences?

Hi All,

I leave for WL in 6 days - yipee. I too would like to request a room. I'm on the 7th floor and would like a fireworks view. Like the person above, should I request a north woods view? Who should I make the request to and what format -- fax, e-mail, smoke signals...??

As a follow up question - Is the fireworks view worth it or should I request a view of the courtyard or lake instead.

Thanks so much - you are all so helpful!

At my last stay, we had a courtyard view. But my DS and me walked around the hall to the north side each night on the sixth floor and watched the fireworks from one of the hall windows. The first night, I had went to MK by myself (he doesn't like fireworks because of the noice) and taped them with my video camera. EAch night thereafter, we would listen to the soundtrack and watch the fireworks from that spot.

About request, we were told to call the reservation number and have them added to our reservation. The WL no longer accepts faxes.

Just about any 7th floor woods view room will give you a view of the castle and wishes at night. There are more trees that block the views towards the end of the north wing though so you may want to be close to the service area / parking lot.

That may have changed though since our last stay there. We are returning in January but I don't think that will help you. :)

Take care,

Fred
