A while back I heard the rooms were going to be renovated this year. Does anyone know if they will be updating the rooms?
Haven't received any new updates on the rooms but construction on the new lounge has been completed.

With news of the Roaring Fork starting and due for completion in March

The refurbishment planned to start in Jan 2006 is for software (bedspreads, wallpaper, carpet) no major construcion. When they did the construction for the new lounge on the 7th floor, they made sure no guest were disturbed by taking the rooms next to and below the construction area out of service.

The refurbishment will start on the 7th floor and then continued through the resort. Disney has in the pass taken blocks of rooms or floors (wings) out of service until work has been completed so other guest are not effected.

Maybe news will be getting back to us soon, my next trip is scheduled in June but I know many of you will be there sooner....So any reports would be great...

I think you would probably be able to make them fit, otherwise bring a small foldable cooler that you can fill with ice from the ice machine and put the one you can't fit in that. Make sure that your fridge is plugged in.... ours was but it tripped the circuit when they put it in and we lost our milk & cheese :sad1: NO biggie though, we had an absolute blast and you will love every minute of Wilderness Lodge

Hi - I'm going on my first trip to the WL and WDW in December. I made my reservations last night, and I booked a Woods view and asked the CM to request non-smoking, upper floor facing the Magic Kingdom. I'm hoping for one of those 5th floor rooms that you can see some of the fireworks from. I know they can't guarantee anything, but was this enough information or should I have been more specific? :confused3 Thanks! I'm really excited about my trip!

I hate packing a lot of clothes for WDW. I usually pack enough for three days each, swimsuits, night sundries and PJ's in a carry-on and the clothes on our backs. Then, I get up early on day 4, get my coffee and a good book and go do laundry. When we stayed at the Moderates, the laundry room was right near the quiet pool, perfect!! Is there a self-service laundry facility at WL and, if so, where?

Also, DS tends to be a grazer at meals and I anticipate bringing doggy bags back to the room. Is there a microwave to which we will have access somewhere on property so he can reheat his goodies?

Thanks for the info :teeth:

Yes there is a laundry room on the first floor just down from Roaring Fork. Yes there were two microwaves also located in Roaring Fork.

TOO ALL NEW LODGERS

Just a reminder to please read some of the great information we have collected on page 1 of this thread. I try and keep the information I posted as current as possable and have just added some detailed information reguarding the boat service @ Wilderness Lodge.
Thanks

For anyone interested in getting their portrait done, there's a portrait artist in the lobby of the Wilderness Lodge most evenings. My boys really wanted to get it done so I gave in in the end and it turned out great! :)

We did this for my DS when he was about their age (in the lobby of the Poly) and it's still on the wall in his bedroom, 10 years later. I think most resorts have artists in the lobby. I know we have also seen them at the Contemporary and the Pop.

DebIreland,
I can't see your pictures :worried: We are headed to the WL next month and I am very interested in getting this done for DD and DS. I'd love to somehow see copies of your pics. Also, do you mind my asking the price?

Thanks

I'm sorry I couldn't read all the pages of this thread...so I'm sure my questions have been answered somewhere. We're staying at WL for the first time in a few weeks (almost stayed there last May but switched). We booked a Courtyard view because that was the only thing available, can anyone suggest room requests for Courtyard view? It'll be DH, myself, and 4yo DS. Our main priority would be proximity, as close to transportation (boat dock and bus stop) as possible.

Transportation question -- what time does the boat to MK run? how about the boat to CR?

Thanks!

Just wanted to say hi and thanks for this thread. We're staying at the WL in early March, we've reserved a lodge-view room and we're hoping to get bunk beds for the kids.

Quick question - we're hoping to catch a Braves spring training game during our visit - are there buses that run from WL to the ballpark? If not, what are our transportation options (we won't have a car).

There isn't a direct bus from Wilderness Lodge. There is a bus from MGM to Wide World of Sports. The bus between WWOS and MGM runs from 8AM to 8PM.

We spent the morning at MGM then caught the bus to WWOS for the afternoon game.

Java

For the the best Courtyard View just make sure you request a Inner-Courtyard View these overlook the Silver Creek Springs Pool, Silver Creek Falls and Fire Rock Geyser. For transportation the Lodge is a small resort via Disney standards but to be close to the boat dock you could request North Wing, to be close to the Bus Stop request South Wing. There isn't that great of a difference.

I just updated all the boat schedules on my post on page 1 (second post) of this thread, it has the information you need.

Have a GREAT TRIP.

I'm doing GREAT thanks for asking. Hope you and your family are doing good, how is your Mother? Tell Judy she has been missed around here.

We are going to try and get a WL Dis Meet for sometime this year. So I'll try and keep everyone informed with the dates when we come up with them.

Folks, what is the best way to get from WL to Epcot - take the direct bus or take the bus to the disney transportation center and then catch the monorail?
