6th floor north wing is the only smoking floor. The 6th floor south wing is no smoking.

Thanks Majestic! This is the area we will be requesting. I can't for the life of me figure out by looking at their map which side the North wing is. Is it the side closest to the Villas? Also, is this area very isolated from the restaurants and the spas? Thanks again for your help. :)

If we have two connecting rooms, and we requested non smoking, near the lobby, one room with two queens, the other with a King... will we be put in the South Tower also? Or are there rooms elsewhere that fit that criteria. Also, since we requested a King room.. are those all handicap accessible, and if so are they on the first floor? I ask this because we do not have a handicapp traveller with us, rather I asked for a King for my mom and her boyfriend. I'd rather not be on the first floor, so if that is the only choice if we want a King, perhaps I'll ask for two queens in their room instead.

The South wing is closest to the villas. Also the non-smoking section is not on the entire north wing 6th floor. It's just after the last 'turn' as you make your way down the hall toward the lake. Initially we were given a room that was non-smoking on the north wing 6th floor, but moved. That room was the last room before the smoking section. The room didn't smell but the smoke smell in the hall increased as we got closer to our room. The front desk moved us after we requested a change.

Thanks so much for all the great answers Majestic!! Even though the trip is so far out, we (ok, ME mainly :)) are getting so excited about our trip!

Hello everyone!

I am considering Wilderness Lodge for my next trip. I have a couple of questions.

First of all, how late does the pool bar stay open? (we'd probably be going in early May). And what other lounges do they have. My BF like to unwind after the long day at the parks with a book and a cocktail. He loved the bar at CBR but didn't care much for the one at CSR.

Also, if you book a room and request a King, what are your chances of getting one? We were thinking about staying at a Universal hotel the first night and doing Universal the first full day, so we probably wouldn't be getting to the hotel until 6pm. Would that give us less of a chance of getting a King room?

Thanks in advance!
Lora

I've read most of this thread and can't find specifics I need. What standard view room requests should I make so that I don't have to overlook dumpsters. Roofs or parking lots are fine with me, I just don't wanna overlook work areas. If no rooms meet this criteria I'm thinking about woods view and requesting to overlook the otter pond. Are these rooms good?

we are checking in Satuday 12/03 and I NEED a cinderella dress that night for Dinner at 1900 park fare.
Does anyone have the number for Mercantile? or is there another gift shop at WL that would sell Cindy dresses

One more question - are there King Beds in the standard section?

Is there such a thing as a lobby/courtyard view when you are in the smoking section?

My DH was still a smoker the first time we stayed at WL (he's now been smoke free since August...still can't believe it!!)....anyway, the smoking rooms are all on the 6th floor, north wing.

There are no lobby rooms, but you can get either woods view (looking north, this is what we had and we could see the castle/CR/MK fireworks from our room) or across the hall you would be getting courtyard views.

Hope that helps!

question for all you WL veterans

Can you see whether the boat to MK is coming in or near the dock from the lobby?

Not really....besides, if the boat were THERE, it would take too long to walk past the pool area and the "board walkway" to get to the dock.... :confused3

We are staying in a HM suite in three weeks. Is it possible to call and request (I understand it is a request only) a Magic Kingdom side/North view? Is it too late? Who do you call- reservations?? I have been searching this thread and until now I didn't know that there were certain views in the HM suites. TIA. I know it doesn't really matter where our view is, we will have a great trip either way, but it can't hurt to ask right?

Its never too late to ask. Although this is a busy time of year, it may have been requested already, but I would try anyway. We did enjoy the woods view in Feb with the honeymoon suite. it was quite relaxing.

Here was our view.

O.K. guys, I don't know if this has been asked or not (so many pages, lol!) so here goes. If I want to go over to Ft. Wilderness for dinner at Trail's End at 5:30, then be at the campfire sing a long by 7:00, how do I do it? We're staying at the VWL and I was wondering if I rent bikes over at the Lodge, can I turn them in at Ft. Wilderness and vice versa? I know it's easier to take the boat, but my hubby wants info on how long the trail/walk is just in case we miss the last boat of the evening (can you tell that's happened to us before? ;) ). Also, what time IS the last boat of the evening?

Just wanted to pass along that when I booked our CL room a couple of weeks ago for Dec 2-10, 2006, I was told at that time, that NO OTHER rooms were available! (I wanted CL to begin with, but asked her to check the price of the "regular" rooms....I guess just to figure out how guilty I should feel for splurging on CL :rolleyes1)

Since we're arriving on a Sat, leaving on a Sun, is it possible that it's perhaps there aren't regular rooms available for the entire stay rather than WL being "sold out" for that whole week?

I thought I was really booking early, but looks like I'm not the only WL advance planner! Just curious, is this typical?

Thanks! I think that I will just leave it up to chance. I don't really care, as long as we actually get the HM suite (we had a HM suite booked for our actual HM at the GF but there was reportedly damage to the HM suite from a hurricane and we never got to stay there). THat view looks pretty neat and my DH would probably prefer it! Thanks!

Can anybody help me out? I think we're going to walk from Trail's End to the campfire, can anyone tell me how far of a walk that is or if I should wait for a bus???? I'm so excited, we leave in 10 days!
