Just wondering. We are staying at WL in a HM suite next month and I am getting very excited. Any info anyone wants to share about these rooms would be great!

Just back from my our eight night stay at the lodge. We had a great time. Magical Express worked great. We got a bunkbed room which I requested...woodsview north wing room #2012. I love this location because it is a close to Roaring Forks and close to the boat dock.

I have to tell you I love the direct bus to the MK...especially going back to MK a few nights like we did. It is so much better than taking the boat after 3:00 and not having to go to Ft. Wilderness.

Highlight of the trip was being picked to be Flag Family. I asked when we checked in and the only day they had opened was on our departure day so we had to say no. Well, the CM checking us in must have put us on a waiting list because on Tuesday afternoon we had a message on our hotel room voice mail asking us if we wanted to be Flag Family the next morning. I guess the family must have cancelled. Of course we said yes. We meet Ranger Stan at 8:00 am in the lobby and went to the top of the lodge. It was a beautiful clear day and the best part of staying at the lodge this trip.

I'll post more details later in the week.

We're headed back to the Lodge for our 3rd trip, this time at the villas. On our first trip we had a woods view, which was in the left wing and we could see MK (or at least Space Mtn. and the castle...and we were able to watch "Wishes" from our room at night!). On our second stay, we had a courtyard view room with one of the doors that you see when you look up. Room 4032 (I think?) and it was AWESOME! Wonderful view of the pool and the lake, and we had no trouble with lobby noise at all. Can't wait to head back in Dec., only 25 more days!

Actually 4032 is a woodsview room, the rooms directly across from that 4027 and 4029 are courtyard view. We had 4027 for 10/30 - 11/8 and 4029 two years ago. Just how we got rooms right next to each other on both stays we have no idea. We never requested that. Only courtyard view! Oh well, that feels like "our wing" now.

When we were on the Magical Express and pulling into the Lodge, I made a comment that we were "home". The guy behind us looked at us as serious as can be and said "Do you live at Disney World?" Sometimes, I wish I did!

Have a great time and "Welcome Home"

......(uhhh, tardin1964), sounds like you had a fantastic time at the "Lodge"! pix please  , if possible, or course!

I will post some pics...especially from the top of the lodge and being flag family after we download them all to my computer...which may take a while since we took around 250 pictures.

anniebell...ask when you check in. even if they tell you all the days are booked during your stay ask if you can be put on the waiting list in case someone cancels. Both my daughters ages 9 & 7 loved doing this. My older one got to raise the American Flag so she was happy. My 7 year old raised the WDW flag so she was happy also.

Since Roaring Forks is going to be closed for refurb Jan-Mar will you still be able to buy/use the refillable mugs?

I am looking into this. If I get any info, I will post here.

Heading to WL this Friday! :goodvibes

I am unfortunately wearing a boot cast. My TA called today and requested that our room be one accessible from the main lobby elevator. We booked a courtyard view with bunks (our initial request).

Any ideas where they might put us???

Thanks,
penny

questions:

how do i mail a package to myself at the VWL?

is it possible to fax a request for a villa close to the WL or should i ask for that at arrival.

TIA!!

I called WL yesterday to inquire about whether or not refillable mugs will be offered during the renovation of Roaring Forks--I was assured that refillable mugs will be available (and stations to refill them).

We had a woods view, which was quite and peace full in the am to drink coffee/ tea on the patio to watch the sun rise. Not sure what the other side looks at.

It's official, I've booked our 2nd vacation to WDW for Dec 2006, and as we loved the WL so much our first time around, we'll be staying there again! This time, while I still think I've probably lost my mind...we've decided to try the concierge level.

I know many of you have stayed WL concierge before, I have a few (ok, maybe more than a few! :teeth: ) questions if you don't mind (I read back quite a few pages, but didn't see these questions answered directly, please forgive me if they're repeats though!):

What types of food does concierge serve for breakfast, snacks, evening appetizers, and dessert? I'm really curious what the offerings will be!

Are you allowed to get food and take it back to your room or do they prefer that you eat there in the lounge area?

Do they offer bottled water that you can take with you to the parks or should I still have some bottled water delivered along with the Mountain Dew my DH will surely be requesting? :)

We requested a north room with MK view and bunkbeds...does anyone know if such a room exists for concierge and how good do you think my chances are of getting a good view of MK fireworks?

Speaking of north side concierge rooms...I remember from last January that the true "wings" only go up 6 floors, are the concierge rooms true hallways or are they in more of a squarish area opening into the lobby due to the nature of the building they're in?

I've seen a few posts on people with 6th floor rooms with concierge access...I don't think I'd like that since we'd like closer proximity to the lounge area. Is it normal to get placed on the 6th floor and should I put in a request for the 7th floor to try and avoid that possibility?

When should I contact WL concierge to start planning PS's etc? I'm assuming I should do so before 180 days out so that they will be able to book them as soon as the days open up? That said, I'm not sure I'm ready to let go of that part of my planning to someone else....anyone else like that or am I crazy not to use this service since we're paying for it?? I don't think we'll be making any super hard to get PS's like Cindy's, so concierge priority probably won't be a big deal from that aspect.

OK, I'll quit! Thanks in advance for all the help...WL folks are the friendliest around :flower:

I understand that the 6th floor North wing is the smoking section? Is that the only one? Is it the whole 6th floor?

6th floor north wing is the only smoking floor. The 6th floor south wing is no smoking.

Congrats! It's now known as the Club Level just as an FYI. I think you are gonna love it!

I know the answer to this has been posted many times before. Let me see if I can find it for you and post the answer later.

Yes you can bring it back to your room. We do it all the time.

They used to do bottled water but no longer do. They do offer larger glass bottles which you can help yourself to though. Some have gone so far to take the whole bottle back to the room.

I'm sure there is at least one or two rooms north "tower" on the 7th floor that will give you the view you want. If they cannot accomodate your request on the 7th floor, there are instances where they can put you on the 6th floor to fullfill your request but still give you access to the 7th floor with your room key.

Most of the rooms on the 7th floor are hallway rooms that go down towards the wings. (There are no wings on the 7th floor.) The only rooms that are actually on the lobby are the honeymoon suites and there are 4 of those. Pictures of them can be found at the photo gallery link in my signature.

It is not normal for them to place you on the 6th floor if are paying for club level but as I have stated above, they may do it if you insist on certain room criteria. I wouldn't expect to get anything other than the 7th floor unless you push on the need for bunk beds and a Magic Kingdom/Fireworks view.

Don't think you are crazy as we do not use this part of concierge as well however, for certain times of the year, I would recommend that you let them make reservations for different restaraunts each night of your stay just so you have them as a backup. We usually wing it from day to day but if we can't get in somewhere else, we fall back onto our earlier reservation. You should definately use itinerary planning for tough to get places as well. Don't forget that the staff on the club level floor are NOT the people you work with when dealing with pre-trip planning. They have a completely seperate group that deals with you before checkin. I would also recommend contacting them via email at least 90 days out even if it's just to start a dialog.

You can email them at: WDW.WLodge.Itinerary.Planning@disney.com

You are most welcome. Don't forget to rub Humphrey the Bear's nose to make the magic begin! You can find him on the bottom of the totem pole in front of the mercantile.

My guess is they will try to put you as close to the main lobby elevators as possible which would put you in the South Tower. Not sure what floor of course. Great view of the courtyard though!!

Enjoy!
