By all means request what you would like, for a Woods View with possable view of the MK & WISHES ask for a room located on the 5th floor (non-smoking) 6th floor for (smoking optional) NorthWing overlooking the Otter Pond.[/QUOTE]

Magic In My Heart -- thank you so very much; we're non-smokers with allergies to boot so your information really, really helps me know what to request!

Can anyone give me any info on the courtyard views at WL. We are booked there 12/14/05 - 12/17/05. I know a request is just a request, but does anybody have any preferences or ones I should try to stay away from? Can you see MK from any of the courtyard views? :flower:

The best Courtyard View @ Christmas are located off the Lobby 4th floor. You will have a beautiful view of Bay Lake and the ELP from your balcony, and a beautiful view of all the Christmas decorations just outside your door. The Lodge schedules Live Christmas Entertainment in the Lobby. I loved sitting in a rocking-chair just outside my room watching all the holiday festivities.

MAGICinMYHEART,

Thanks for the great info. I'm going to try to get a 4th floor room. We are going next month. I am so excited. We have never been there at Christmas time before. I was just able to get a room there this morning. :flower:

My sister has decidd to extend the amount of time she'll be spending with us at Disney World as a result i am now looking at renting points for some space at a villa so she won't be far from us (we'll be at WL) are the two near enough to one another that one won't feel isolated? We booked WL because of the holiday decorations (w'ell be going 17-21) but if it means we'll have to be split up at this point, we may considering another resort. Suggestions?

While the two resorts are located together and the Villas are close enough that it is like staying at the same resort.

The time of your visit is very popular with DVC members that own at the VWL so much that other DVC members (that own at the other DVC Resorts) have trouble booking at the VWL seven months in advance. You can always try, good luck.

I didn't realize we, as non-DVC'ers, were given an opportunity to book a villa before DVC'ers were. We booked a 2BR villa for next June--did it at 10 months out directly through Disney. Are DVC owners (at VWL) not allowed to book until 9 months out, and other DVC owners not until 7 months out?! I'd be pretty mad that it would already be booked up, especially by non-DVC'ers. I assumed DVC'ers had first dibs before us regular resort guests (which is why I was surprised and thrilled when we got a reservation without any problems).

VWL DVC owners may book at 11 months, other DVC owners can book at 7 months...This is to insure that if you own at VWL you will have an advantage over other DVC members that own at another DVC resort. The Villas that are book through CRO can be made futher out then 11 months as the Villas that CRO book are owned by WDW. Disney owns a percentage of each DVC resort, Disney is limited to how many Villas they have to rent at any time.

I understand the rule to let the VWL owners book before other DVC'ers. I didn't know Disney has a block of rooms it uses strictly for one-time guests like me. I'm relieved to find out we're not preventing DVC owners from getting a chance to book a villa.

Thanks for the info!

Actually, half way through the cruise DH said let's do another cruise in July...but a 7 day! We'll what is a girl to do...so I said yes! On board, if you rebook before you disembark, they give you 10% off and a $200 on board credit per stateroom. We were all gung ho until we got the quote of $8500 for cat. 9 for a family 5!...and that's with 10% already off! I guess the 7 day cruise will have to wait until we can go off season!

cindy - I just got back from the magic...go for the 7 day in September and go Cat 10...$2500 for 3!

Hi! Just a couple questions about WL. When I look at photos of the lobby looking up...it looks like there are room doors....are these actual resort rooms or just meeting rooms?

If they are rooms, are they worth requesting...or is it noisy? Seems like it would be fun to walk out of your room and see the lobby.

Besides that, I just wondered if anyone who has stayed here could give us some tips...it's our first time visiting...we are so excited..we will be there the day after Thanksgiving! We have two little boys who can't wait!

This thread has been wonderful...and there is great advice here...but I can't seem to get through every post, so thank you in advance for offering advice that I am sure has been posted a GAZILLION times!

There are rooms off the lobby. We stayed in the HM suite on the 7th floor off the lobby -- not too bad, but I can imagine the lower floors may get a little loud during the day with WC and the people. The view is breathtaking!!!

I've stayed at the Lodge 4 times and this December will be our 5th. We love WL.

We have never had a "lobby" room - heard they can be noisy. Our first room was down the right wing (Vila's side - before the vila's) and we were something like 100 steps from the pool. Way cool.

2nd and third times, were had vila's view (again the right wing) and the 4th time we had a view of Discovery Island, from the MK side of the hotel.

All the rooms were great, the last room was the furthest from the bus stop, but that did not pose a problem for us.

We loved the views at each one.

Don't forget to catch the Electric Water Parade at least once. Guest Services can let you know what time it goes by. If you have little ones, they have games daily at the pool, times are posted. Guest Services will also have the Hidden Mickey list.

The lodge will be all decked out for Christmas by the time you arrive, it is awesome.

Enjoy your stay - tell Humphrey we'll be there in a couple of weeks. :wave2:

:cool1: I haven't posted in months but just booked the WL for Feb.!! I am so excited as are my 2 DD's and DH. It will be our third visit and we can hardly wait. Our other trips were in Oct. and Dec. - has anyone else gone in early Feb.? We will be there the week before President's weekend. Any news on the refurbishment?

M.K.

We're headed back to the Lodge for our 3rd trip, this time at the villas. On our first trip we had a woods view, which was in the left wing and we could see MK (or at least Space Mtn. and the castle...and we were able to watch "Wishes" from our room at night!). On our second stay, we had a courtyard view room with one of the doors that you see when you look up. Room 4032 (I think?) and it was AWESOME! Wonderful view of the pool and the lake, and we had no trouble with lobby noise at all. Can't wait to head back in Dec., only 25 more days!
