The NEW WL FAQ (Part 5) Simbas and Tiggers and Humphreys OH MY! Part 2

Hi everyone! I've finally downloaded some of our WL photos from our Oct. 2006 trip. We stayed in room 5020, a woodsview room with bunk beds adjacent with my Mom and sister's room. It was our first time at the WL and we fell in love! We had towel animals everyday and got to be the Flag Family on our last day there. I hope that it's ok that I'm posting all these photos, but I'm very excited to show how beautiful the lodge is. We can't wait to go back! Until then, I'll have to keep myself occupied scrapbooking my vacation photos. ;)

Those pictures are wonderful! Thank you for sharing them! Love to see all you took!

She was wrong. Not all courtyard rooms have a pool view. I was there last month and had reserved a courtyard room FACING BayLake. I got room 3167 (on the tip of the South Wing). No view of the pool (had to lean way out just to see the geyser)....but had a GREAT view of the lake (and the parade each night).

Ahhh THANK YOU!

So does anyone know what are the possible room views when you book a COURTYARD VIEW?

Does anyone have a suggestion on how quickly the concierge level fills up during the first week or so of Dec. I'm planning on making a trip in Dec 2008, stop laughing, I like to plan in advance :lmao: I want to insure that I get what I want. Thanks.

Those are great pictures!! Hard to believe I was just there a few weeks ago during Mousefest. Oh how I miss the lodge.....

Do you mind if I take some of your pictures and add them to our Wilderness Lodge Photo Gallery?

Fred

Thanks so much! I would love to have my photos added to the gallery. :goodvibes Thank you all for your compliments! I'm glad that you love the pictures!

We are heading to the WL Feb 3. Can anyone tell me if there is a door between the sinks, and the tub? I can't tell by looking at the pictures?

Thank you

There is. The tub and toilet are in their own separate little room. HTH! :)

According to the WDW website, if you book courtyard, your view can be of the waterfalls, pool or lake.

Previously it's been reported that the view of the Villas also was considered courtyard, but according to the Disney website, that falls under "woodsview". Which, IMO, is how it should be! :thumbsup2

Glad to read all these great posts! Our first stay at WL (actually VWL) will be in May 07 and we are so excited! I've always wanted to stay at WL I love the theming.

The place is fantastic! One thing I did like was the walk from the lobby to the bus stops, it was soooo easy.

Thanks Jeanne! I will call for sure and book ahead! Thanks for the number too!

What kind of a treatment did he end up getting? Looks like several to choose from!

He got the Swedish Message for 50 minutes, I think. Sturdy Branches is less expensive also.

He said it was wonderful. He said that they use hot towels to enhance the message. They used one over his eyes and one over his back.

I laugh, he always has that "look" of complete relaxation when he comes back.

The techs he has had have been Wendy and Courtney.

Since RonaldDuck hasn't posted it yet.... check out his room map. It shows you where all the courtyard view rooms are. You can get a view of the "courtyard" between the main lodge and villas (by the quiet pool).

If you want to see the main pool, request "inner courtyard".

As I said in my earlier post, that's not the case according to the WDW website. When you click on room view type, it specifically lists the rooms that view the Villas as "woodsview".

Are they not honoring what their website says?

Can you tell me what drinks you can get with the refillable mugs at the WL.

Thanks again for all your help.

Well, you don't view the Villas directly as much as you have a view of the quiet pool. So, really, it is more of a pool view, just not of the main pool.

That's my understanding, at least.

Just curious.......does anyone know if they actually have a room # assigned to you prior to check-in or do they simply select your category when you arrive? For example, when I reserve and indicate a preference for "lobby view" or such, does someone review that at an appointed time and select a room or courtesy upgrade prior to my arrival or is there still opportunity for it to be done by the CM at the time of check-in?

As they say in the north -Sodas, or in the south - Pop,
Water, Tea, Hot Chocolate, Coffee..........I think that is about it!

I have a standard room booked from Jan 27-Feb 1. I would love to have a MK view but I'm also concerned about the noise level of the service area. I have 2 little ones (4 & 2) and my 2yr old especially is a light sleeper. Should I make a specific request at check-in? or ahead of time? I'm actually crossing my fingers for an upgrade to a woods view (w/a MK view! :) ) but we'll just have to wait and see. I'm just so excited to be staying at the WL! Only 22 more days!

TiggerAllie,

Just read your trip reports! Nice! Loved the pics!

Does anybody know if those carriage rides run all year?

I loved your idea of doing AP for dinner and then a carriage ride after. Did you makes ressies for that? Do they run every night?

Thanks!

Thanks! I need to get going and write more. I have so many more pictures to post!

Unfortunately, the sleigh rides only run from late Nov. through Dec. They do have carriage rides at Fort Wilderness, but I think you have to head over there to get the ride. I have heard of people paying extra to hire the carriage to pick them up at WL, and take them to HDDR or bring them back to WL from HDDR.
If you want to call to find out more info, the number is 407-wdw-play.
