Hey guys (again) I just realized that my question earlier today was EXTREMELY specific and most people would probably not know the answers to it. So, does anybody have a phone number that I can contact WL directly and try to get some answers. I am trying to figure out how likely it is that I am going to get a King bed. I figure, if I know the room #s of rooms with king views I could possibly request a specific room number for the best view/location. If getting a King bed is ridiculously rare, then I could just take that request off and instead request the best possible view. OK, that was really long winded but any info would be great...and if nobody knows since it's an odd question, then any direct contact info would help me out too. Thanks again! :wizard:

I'm going to try and help with this. Here is a quote from the first page of this thread:

"*Posted by HLAuburn We were upgraded to a courtyard from a standard. We were assigned one of the illusive king rooms with a tub (4129). Great location, great view, nice room, no complaints whatsoever.

*Posted by SkipperBubbaI had a king bed room (#5075) that was on the lobby end of the courtyard. It was right next to the Sunrise Terrace, just up a floor... directly above the creek as it exits the lobby. The room had a standard tub and it was wonderful to get up and look out over the courtyard and bay. It was our honeymoon... and the room was perfect."

I also looked up some of my notes and found some more king bed room numbers. A while ago, I did some research and found these. Now this was before the renovations so if they did not change the configuration of the rooms it should hold true.

In case someone found that a room number has the wrong configuration, please let me know so I can update my records. I am trying to get a room location map set up with as much info as I can find for us here at the WL FAQ! :thumbsup2

King bed rooms as follows: 4073 (bear face room), 5073 (bear face room), 5075 (standard tub, bear face room), 1035 (patio), 4075 (bear face room), 4129 (standard tub, bear face room), 6025 (courtyard view), 1026 (patio with walk in shower, otter pond), 1027 (patio, courtyard view), and 7084 (honeymoon suite MK view).

Hope this helps, like I said I'm still researching. :surfweb:

Hello All! Since I've been away from the thread for a long time, I'm sure I have missed tons and tons of information, so can anyone help me out by telling me the answer to this question;
Is it true that Roaring Forks has been renovated? If so, does anyone know where I can find pics? I went on All Ears, but didn't see any new pics there. Maybe it was just a rumor? I hope not because I really think it needed to be much larger. After staying at "the other lodge" for 1/2 of our last stay, I found Mara to be much easier to navigate, so I'm hoping that RF has been redone with space in mind. Thanks for any info. :)

It has been rehaped but is not any bigger just spruced up and menu items have been changed. Just do a search for Roaring Forks and you will fine the picks here on the board.

there are pics on the dining or DVC forum of the new Roaring Forks..though the room you got the food in is no larger, many there has been some new additions like a soft serve ice cream, new food counters/displays and it looks like the cashier area is on one of the other walls. Some of the items they sold before, are no longer available. If I recall correctly, you no longer have the little "window" on the dining side of the area to pick up your pizza, burgers etc. So it's not really larger, but things have been changed. It looked roomier to me though because of the way they redesigned the counters..but I could be wrong..I can tell you in a month though :goodvibes But like I said..there are pics of it on the dining forum or the DVC forum..forget which one.

What would you all suggest requesting for a courtyard view room. I definitely need non-smoking and no bunks. I would like to be high up, perhaps a nice view of the pool and lake. Any suggestions?

When I stay Courtyard I request a room above the pool area. If you are going to be using Roaring Forks, I would suggest the North Wing as that wing has an elevator in it that would take you down right next to that. If you stay south wing, you'd have to make your way over to the North wing to get there..and it looks like your children are quite young. Then just add on a non-smoking with 2 queens and you'll get no bunks :)

I have the location of the honeymoon suites but I don't have the room numbers. I'm going on the 28th and hopefully I can get them then. :)

That would be great! We don't go until December so no rush. :sad1: Thank you so much for taking the time to do that though! :goodvibes

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this great thread! :thumbsup2

We'll be staying at the WL August 26 through September 2, with the free dining plan. I am excited, as I have wanted to stay at the Wilderness Lodge for a long time! :sunny: I am VERY excited about staying in the renovated rooms, and we are praying for bunkbeds, as I have a DD12 and DS15.

We plan to arrive around noon or 12:30 p.m. Do you think this will be early enough to be hopeful about getting a bunk bed room?

I hope we won't be disappointed. We have not had good luck with deluxe resorts. We have stayed at the CR and the Poly and did not feel they were worth the extra cost. We did not get friendly treatment, towel aninmals, etc.

On the other hand, our stays at ASMu and Pop have been quite magical - towel animals every day, and such a friendly staff. (Maybe the CMs at the value resorts try harder? :) )

The free dining plan helps with the extra cost of staying at the WL, of course, and we are hoping to try all of the Disney resorts at least once, so we are going with a positive attitude! This thread really helps with that!

I'll report on our experience when we get back.

Thanks DLBDS and dizneykid!! I appreciate all the help, and the list of room numbers was great. I am going to call WL today and hopefully they will be able to give me the % of courtyard view rooms with a king bed (I don't really care if they have the "roll in" shower or not). Thanks again!!! :goodvibes

Kathy-
We too are hoping for bunks, we have a girl-17 and a 11 boy, I don't have a problem with them sleeping together, but both are restless sleepers and I don't think even the largest bed could they sleep together and all of us get a good night sleep! Kids can get so weird about this kind of thing.
I went to target and bought a single air bed with an inflatable pump. It was only $16. It is not too heavy nor does it take up much room in a suitcase. If we don't get the bunks I plan on using that as a backup. We will all sleep better!
We are getting to the resort about 9am so I am keeping my fingers crossed but with our backup plan I won't be too disapointed with 2Q beds..

Bev

Thanks LisaRN and HugPug! :thumbsup2 I'll be going to search for those pics now....................... :)

I started out requesting a Woods View....I could only get Courtyard. NOW, I've arranged to be upgraded to CL instead! I don't know much about it though....except that you get food and help with planning and don't have to wait in line when you arrive. I'm staying Courtyard during the holidays and have requested to "face" Bay Lake (as opposed to "view" of Bay Lake). What rooms would these be on the WL map? I wanted to try something different for my February trip but Woods View isn't available. (I was going to do the Otter Pond.) I'm at a loss of what to request with the CL. It would REALLY be great if I could get a MK view. Is this possible? Being on the 7th floor we should be able to see the fireworks, right? I want a view of either the lake so we can watch the Electrical Water Pageant or the MK with the fireworks. What're my options? Thanks!

YEAH!!! Just had to share with all those who love and appreciate the WL. . .just booked for our trip next year. I just went ahead and spent the 200 to reserve the room and will upgrade when packages come out. Looks like July 11-19th for us next summer. Booked Woodsview room. May upgrade to bunks or conceirge if money comes available. But we BOOKED!!!! Something else to plan and look forward to. YEAH!!!!!!!:cool1:  :cheer2:

Ok I have a question that I am sure has been answered before but I am taking a short poll: We have an inner courtyard room booked for 12/2-9/06. If it is possible to get a woods view on the northside in an upper floor (I know slim chance, but if I could), would you or would you not take it and why? We are trying to decide if we should do it or not if one is available. We would like to see Wishes from our room and the castle if possible and I do not really want to go to CR for that view. Thanks if you answer.

Oh yeah!! (cue kool-aid man) I was able to book a woods view room from 2/4/07-2/10/07. I requested a north side room on the 5th or 6th floor, so we'll see what materializes. I can't wait until the packages are released so that I will know the price and benefits of our trip. It looks like I can schedule my ADR's on 8/8/06.

My DS is also 15. I know he will be looking for a pool buddy. Maybe we can get them together? Nick is a reasonably (!) well behaved, semi-girl crazy, really good kid. Please let me know if we can arrange this. I know he'll want some "away from the crazed DIS mom" time!!!

None of the CL rooms face Bay Lake..the 7th floor doesn't extend down the wings that far. You could get an MK view on the CL level..you'd have to ask for a woods view in the North wing :) Remember, you can't "guarantee" a Courtyard, Woods, or Standard view on the CL at the WL..but you can request it..all rooms are same price.

You'd have to book a Woodsview room instead of Courtyard in order to get the woods view room in the north wing. So, the "Woodsview" category would have to be available. You'll love the lodge at Christmas time! :goodvibes

:cheer2: Good for you!! I'm actually thinking of booking our stay for next summer..but I think I'd better have this summers trip over with or my DH might think I'm crazy :p It will be our 15th wedding anniversary next year..so my cogs are already turning as to what I should do to make it special!!! I'll book concierge..as now that we've stayed that level..there's no turning back anymore :confused3 :rotfl:

I've been lurking here since Sunday because my husband and I are going to WDW for our 10th Ann. I've never been to WDW, and he hasn't been since he was a kid. I had a hard time choosing a resort because it looks like there are a bunch of great places. I had it narrowed down CR, Poly, and WL. After reading this thread, I booked the CL at WL for Aug. 7th-14th. :cheer2:
I have a little over 2 weeks until we go. :bitelip: Anyhow, I wanted to thank everyone who posted before me because your discussions have been very helpful.
