Ooooops - yep 6'2"!

:lmao:

People do cancel all the time, but I've also found it more helpful to call them direct. I don't know why, but it seems any time I can't find what I want on the website, if I call them, somehow they've usually been able to work it out for me.

Person to person contact is always the best! Sometimes a few extra questions puts you in the right direction of what you are looking for! Good luck! :wizard:

Hi guys, it's been awhile! Hope everyone is well. :goodvibes I was wondering approx when the teacher discounts come out over the summer, and if it is usually posted somewhere, or do you guys usually come here and let others know if you see that the discounts are out? They told me to call back in July or August, but I want to make sure I'm on top of it and don't miss out since we'll be traveling during peak season!

Also, quick question: I originally booked the Dolphin with the Epcot fireworks view and balcony, but I decided to do a split stay with the AKL CL, so I will be booking just a standard room now...I was just wondering if all standard views are created equal, or does the Swan or Dolphin have something in particular I could request just in case? :confused3 Thanks!

P.S.

Zuzu...I noticed you have a little over a month to go...you must be so excited!

Hi Lissiesmum!!!! :wave2: Yes, I'm SO excited! I just have to get through the last few weeks of school, final exams, DD's graduation and parties then we are outta here! Can't wait! :yay::yay::yay:

...I'll be packing!!!!!!!! I SO need this vacation! Working 70 hours a week sure makes me feel worthy of going to disney this year!

14 days until we are back home at the Dolphin! Trying desperately to make it 13...darn convention has the place sold out  but going to keep trying! Can't wait, we have 6 nights and attending SWW for the first time!:darth::yoda::chewy::ewok: and LOVING that we will be at the S/D location for that!

We will be there the at about the same time as some of you. 41 days and counting!

We are a group of 6 adults; 2 couples and 2 singles. What options does the S/D have for us?

What combinations of people can room with whom? Minimum room numbers (non suites), assuming all adults, would be two I think, either 3 and3 or 4 and 2. Depending on how the singles want to room, they would need either no additional rooms, one, or possible two. So you could have 2, 3 or 4 rooms needed. If the couples aren't talking, LOL, could necessitate 1 or 2 additional, for 5 or 6 total.

So, it is dependent on who wants to room with whom.

We're all talking! I guess I was wondering about the configuration of the suites. 2 couples sleeping together, 2 singles not. I was wondering about the Executive suites.

I think there are 2 options for an executive suite. One with a one bedroom and the second options has 2 bedrooms.

Both have the one very large room with the living area (sofa bed) and the king murphy bed. Then you can choose which room type you want to connect to if you choose the 1 bedroom - 2 doubles in one room and a king in the other. You get both rooms if you choose the 2 bedrooms.

At least this is my understanding...

YAY! Got availability to add a night to the beginning of our trip! 7 nights...SWEET! It paid off to call daily

ok...so as excited as we are to have the extra night, we are arriving in the midst of a huge convention...which has mostof the S/D sold out! DH is convinced we are going to repeat our nasty rooftop/dumpster view sice the place will be filled up the day before we arrive...we can check in amytime since we are heading over from Universal...I am guessing getting there the earlier the better, but highly doubtful our room will be ready...I can't remember,( since we usually arrive in late afternoon and our room is always ready)do you get the location at check-in and just return when it is ready, or is the location unknown until it is ready? We are SPG, but I am guessing availability of any upgrade will be zero. Anyone remember if you get the room # at check in or not until room is ready?

SPG will only matter if you are Platinum or Gold level. anything else will not earn an update.

The one time our room was not ready, we did not get the room number until it was available. I guess you could ask and they might let you know.

True, there is nothing that will guarantee an upgrade with a Preferred SPG membership, but I have found that if there is one available, they will give it to you. In over 20 (or is it 30?) stays at the Swan/Dolphin, I have been given an upgrade each and every time (altho once it was to a lovely view of the roof :rotfl: ). I was only gold on a couple of those visits.

I've also been upgraded in other cities, too, while being preferred.

I currently have 2 rooms booked @ Dolphin, and when I said that I wanted the one room to be a king, they said they would note the request on the reservation, but you can't book a king, only request one.
I thought that you could book either 2 doubles or 1 king?

Is this a recent change? Other than 2 times ( dumpster view) we have been upgraded to lake , balconey and resort views...and on silver status to boot, at Christmas and summer...:confused3
