I just called the S/D. They have handicapped parking area in the main, regular parking lots, presumably the closest to the hotels. If those spaces are full, you can use the valet parking area at the regular parking rate, but still self parking. So, there is not discounted valet parking for handicap use. CM I talked to said they do monitor parking in both handicapped and valet area for violations.

If multiple drivers, one or more not handicapped, I think best bet would be to drop off handicapped person and ECV at hotel doors, and then drop off car in lot.

So you can park in the valet area if you are handicapped and the regular handicapped spots are all taken? That is really good to know!

Yes, according to the guest services there. I am sure you would need some sort of handicap plate, tag or something to identify the car as such. If a rental, I suppose a word to the parking attendant as well as the valet desk.

Thanks for the info. I am a SPG member, but haven't used it for years. I'll be sure to bring it with me. I'll at least ask for a West wing area hopefully avoiding the garbage facing area

Hi Dan - thanks for all this extra info - my friend is in need of a handicapped spot, and Rog had always used valet in the past, I did not know the answer to this one. I can't wait to get back to the Dolphin. Once again, I'll miss seeing you. We will reconnect one of these times.

When we were at the Swan in August, and the hotel was 100% full, we had no problem finding handicapped spaces in the regular parking lot. They were in the shade, too. Maybe it was just good luck, but we had no problem. :thumbsup2

Can anyone tell me if the Swan/Dolphin hands out the birthday and 1st visit pins like the other resort hotels do?

Not that I'm aware of. I don't recall seeing anyone receive them at check-in on any of my previous trips. Then again, I never inquired about them.

Yay...that's terrific! I'm so glad someone was able to take advantage of it.

You can always get the buttons at Guest Relations at any park, if they are still being offered when you visit. :thumbsup2

No they do not as they are not Disney owned hotels
They are Starwood hotels on Disney property

Does anyone know if the Swan charges your card for the room at check-in like a wdw room only reservation or like a regular hotel that would charge the day of check out?

thanks so much.

I plan to purchase my park tickets in advance of my trip. Can those be added to my Dolphin room card when I arrive, or will I need to carry tickets separately since we're not staying in one of the Disney-owned hotels? Thanks!

No, they are separate from your room card.
