I am at work. Training someone. She is doing all the work & I am playing on the internet

Let's see, WDW vs. DCL? I'd say WDW. I've not been on a Disney Cruise; however, I have been on a couple of cruises & they just aren't my thing. I do think we will do a Disney Cruise at some point, but for now, I prefer WDW.

Sorry about the question: Disney Cruise or WDW? I didn't mean to cause a thread-wide panic.....of course you can do both.......I did the eastern Magic cruise in January and still miss my cabin boy so much......where are my towel animals and pillow chocolates???.....I don't think I can survive through another 4 seasons before I can go back.......I'll just have a few chocolates and calm down.......

Hey I have a question for all you DVCers (or anyone familiar enough with it to answer). This probably sounds like a dumb question, but...

Do you think it would still make sense to be DVC members if you lived in Orlando?

My partner and I have always been interested but learned a lot more about it during our last trip (particularly that the cruises were added since we last looked into DVC). But, since we'll be moving there, we're doubting whether it would even be worth it to be members. Of course, you still have Hilton Head and Vero Beach, and California, Paris and Tokyo. And you also have the non-Disney vacations. And you have the cruises.

I asked this question on the DVC board and there were several people who said it would not be good financially speaking. Other people (including a few who lived in Orlando) said it was still worth it.

What do you guys think? And ohanafamily, please try to refrain from using big words or complex mathematical examples in your response! You CAN be put into time-out for that too, you know!

To answer HuggaBaloo's question, I'm here but I don't have a rash.......And my VD will be spent with my chocolate lab, who, by the way, doesn't have a rash either.......



[color=9933FF]joshsmom[/color] At the moment, I don't have a signficant other either and my DS9 will be with my ex-husband on VD (that's Valentine's Day in case any dirty minds are reading this) I'm just going to take it easy on Saturday, knowing how lucky I am to have the day to myself, eat chocolates, walk the dog and nap whenever and however long I please. I'm sooooo excited. But if DS9 were with me, we'd love to be in Branson with you!

How to respond...OK, I will let you decide for yourself...

Lots of CM's join DVC, and use the trade-outs.

If you are going to be working for Disney...wait. You will get a CM discount.

I will PM you with the DVC Web address; I checked with my Guide before, and they said it was OK to give it to people, but not to post it openly. You can look up points tables etc. for cruises and trade-outs.

The price is still $89. per point, but they are only rebating $5. per point because SS isn't open yet.

When you figure what things will actually cost, each point per year will cost about $6.00 by the time everything is factored in.
My stay at DL would actually have been about the same price if not a little more than I paid cash for it (after all of the discounts).

You can buy from "The Time-Share Store" here on the Dis, and maybe get a better deal, but a word of warning... SS goes away in 2050, not 2042 like all of the other places. There are 8 extra years at that property.

The phone number to call and ask questions to is 800-800-9100. This is a place where you can get a Guide assigned to you. They can answer all of your questions. When I first looked into DVC, I was told that I do not vacation enough to make it worthwhile. I bought in a couple of years later, and now have 400 points, and have already planned trips with all of next years points.....
