Oh, so many years of enjoying Tonga Toast. Yum. But these days I usually order the fruit plate which is great and beg a bit of TT from my husband. The strawberry compote that now accompanies Tonga Toast is a good addition IMHO.

Anyone else remember when Tonga Toast was served at Tangaroa Terrace but not even called TT at that point. Ah, memories!

OMGosh....sure do !! That's way back in the 70's for me AND when the now consierge Hawaii longhouse was called the "Tonga" longhouse. Hey...and it was $42. a night back then too!!! Yes, Ah...memories!!

Tonga was the first longhouse we ever stayed in. What a great location for a first stay. We were hooked.

warriorboy648, Kona Cafe is a great choice for b,l & dinner. Soooo good. And yes, it is a TS on the DDP. Dinner is a great use of a TS I think.

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't find the anwer for some reason. We are staying at the Poly this October, and I am tryign to figure out a good longhouse to request. I stayed in Tahiti last year and loved it, but I want to try a different one. I felt sort of removed in Tahiti, and found that we hardly ever went in the GCH to use the monorail, or otherwise- and I think the GCH is just so pretty!!!!

SO, long story kind of short, I am thinking about Tokelau, because it seems centrally locted and still a short walk to the TTC- we spend a lot of time in Epcot. How does everyone like this longhouse? We have a garden view, btw. Are the rooms here the same size as in Tahiti? The bathroom only has one sink, correct? (This is my only concern!)

Is the "music" for wishes piped in anywhere so you can listen to it as well as watch from somewhere outside, say the pool area?

A little off topic but I thought us "old timers" like BCV23 & some others would likely remember these Disney Treehouses (by SSR/DTD) and looks like they are coming back. They are now being used for foreign student CM housing.

"Disney's Tree-house Villas to Re-Open

The Walt Disney World resort has started to file paperwork to renovate Disney's Tree-house Villas, a community of 60 two-story units. The three-bedroom villas are scattered throughout a wooded back road between Lake Buena Vista Golf Course and a ferry canal. Although officials have not released details of their planned use for the units, Disney World spokeswoman Andrea Finger stated that "We are bringing them back as a popular option for our guests" confirming they will be re-opened to the public."

Is the "music" for wishes piped in anywhere so you can listen to it as well as watch from somewhere outside, say the pool area?

You can listen to the music from the beach and watch Wishes from there. The music sounded so clear that it felt like you were in the Magic Kingdom.

I just booked at the Poly using the AP rate and they only had a theme view room left in May for 6 days. I took it but it's expensive! Tell me it's worth paying so much more than I would for a Poly garden view.

I originally had an AP rate for a courtyard view at WL for about $1750. The theme view at Poly is $2900. I switched to the Poly because I'm from Wisconsin and needed that South Seas feeling. (We've had a brutal winter and I'm mourning Brett's retirement). We also have a 5 y.o. DH and we want to be close to the MK for our first trip. I hope the monorail, theme view room, Wishes and resort atmosphere are worth it!

I'm totally excited but also need validation.

AshleyMWC, Tokelau is a great request for your needs I think. We've never stayed there but the rooms are as large as Tahiti and it is centrally located between the GCH and TTC. One side faces the beautiful Eastern courtyard and the other looks out at the leisure pool which has so much beautiful landscaping surrounding it. Also close to the bus stop if you use that. I'm not sure about the single sink but that does sound right.

senecabeach, the Polynesian has the same mugs as all the other resorts now. Currently the theme is Year of Magical Dreams. Coffee, tea, iced tea, hot chocolate and as I recall apple juice are options along with soda pops, lemonade and punch. Thanks for the link about the Treehouse Villas. On the DVC boards someone even posted links to the floor plans. Did you ever stay in them? We never did although they intrigued me. But we were so hooked on the Polynesian, it was hard to branch out.

ogorchock, I think you'll love the Polynesian. If you want gardenview, you can always call back from time to time to check for availability. But with a five year old, you might really appreciate the theme park view. When your little one is asleep, you can still enjoy the view of the castle across Seven Seas Lagoon. We've had a bad winter here too although not as bad as you. And I don't blame you for mourning Brett Favre's retirement. What a qb he was. Even Bear fans loved him even if we hated what he did to the Monsters of the Midway over the years.
