concierge as much as we did. Enjoy it!!!

Another thing they are helpful for is resolving conflicts. The night we did the fantasmic dinner package, fantasmic was canceled due to lightening. Everyone was so angry that we didn't hear the announcements over the crowd's boos. The next morning, I spoke with Lawrence at concierge who directed me to guest relations at DS who told me that the show part is actually free (so there are no refunds) but if we went to guest relations they would give us another preferred seating voucher for a night of our choosing. When my hubby ran over to get the new voucher the CM at DS guest relations (who was a total snot) told him sorry - nothing she could do - we'd have to stand in line for 2 hours like everyone else. I went to the poly concierge desk while he was still there and Kathy helped me out by calling and speaking to the supervisor over at DS and we got our preferred seating voucher. Remember - they are there to help you and they actually seem to like doing it. :hippie:

How did you like Fantasmic? It's my all time Disney favorite with Illuminations being a close second.
Then again, Spectromagic is awesome too! But I can't say enough about Wishes either.
Ok Ok...so I'm fickle...but I think that's allowed at DW.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed Fantasmic.
And I'm glad concierge staff again lived up to the praises that I have for them. They have always made my stay extra special in more ways than I can say. And I agree with you, they actually seem to like what they do. I guess that's why they're so good at it.:cheer2:

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

We leave two weeks from today!!! And arrive at WDW two weeks from tomorrow!!! I can't wait. I really hope the weather gets better for everyone.

I'm torn, I want it to come quick for you! :cool1:
But yet I don't want it to come quick for you, our trip ends the day you get there :sad1:

we actaully ended up adding another day just so we could see the show. It didn't dissapoint, that is for sure. I am still blown away thinking about the technological aspects of it...so cool!

And JR, I am with you 100%. Coming here and posting brings the magic and joy back full force. :o)

What is the Fantasmic show? Where is it?
Haven't of it before but sounds good.

:surfweb:
Congrats
I sincerely think you made the right choice. And you'll be thanking all the good people here again for their input. And the nice thing about the thank yous is that no one here really needs to be thanked. Just being able to share our experiences is a gift in itself. Oops, I have no right to speak for anyone else but me. But I think others will express the same sentiments as I.
These threads help to keep the magic :wizard: near to me and I feel like I'm part of a big family who knows and loves DW and Poly and keeps the magic alive through our posts.
I hope everyone is having a magical day!

I completely agree with you!!!:goodvibes

It's a laser show in DHS. As noted it's free and it's awesome.

But you can also choose to book a Fantasmic dinner package that includes dinner at some of the table service restaurants at DHS. Included are tickets to a special seating area at Fantasmic which can cut down on wait time to be seated. We just try to go on a less crowded night though and skip the dinner package.

I think you'll love staying in Hawaii. What a way to go for your very first WDW trip.:cool1:

Fantasmic is at Hollywood Studios and you follow a long path that is over by Tower of Terror and it leads you up to it. There's TONS of seating (outdoor) on bleachers. The show has lots of cool effects like showing pictures/video on water that is sprayed upwards. The show uses lots of characters, including Mickey, and pyrotechnics. It's cool check it out! It's in the evening when it's dark outside.

Fantasmic SHow is at Disney Studios. I am doing it for the first time this September and I can't wait! It is an evening show with fireworks, lights and characters! I believe it usually starts around 8pm but it is theater seating so you need to be in line early!

Thanks for all you input and suggestions, went and upgraded to GV CL :cool1: :wizard:
Just when I thought the anticipation couldn't get any worse, I can't wait!!!
Think we made the right choice for sure, with all the extra perks you get CL and my kids never stop eating. 3 boys can't imagine what it'll be like when they're teenagers.

What's it like at WDW right now?
I know there's lots of rain and parts of Florida are flooded, is it that bad at WDW or is it far enough inland that it's just wet?

It's raining and windy right now. We haven't been venturing out to the parks because we had a couple days left on non-expiring tickets we figured we may as well hang onto. So now we have to come back someday when there's no tropical storm that won't go away :goodvibes

I know a lot of people still go out to the parks in the rain, but the 25-30 mph wind forecasts are pretty much what are keeping us away. Rain is one thing, but we didn't feel like walking around with it gusting. The heavier winds started yesterday afternoon and appear to be continuing today, but are forecasted to slow down this evening. Obviously these winds and rain are nothing like on the coast, the rain isn't really coming down that hard, but then that's just me looking out the window and not standing in it.

Tomorrow's our last day here, we may try Typhoon Lagoon, we thought that would be appropriate :rotfl:

Right now, log off and hit the parks!!!!!!

We were in the MK on Tuesday, the day Fay was supposed to hit. There was NO ONE there-- maybe 200 people in the park, total. My kids walked onto rides all day long-- it was great!!!! If it's really rainy, get a real raincoat and stick to rides where most of the wait is indoors-- Pirates of the Carribean, Small World, Peter Pan type of stuff. Or get to Epcot, where lots of the rides have indoor lines. But hit the parks; you'll be so glad you did!!!!

Wow I've finally hit 30 days til my trip and everyone's has been so helpful here. THANK YOU! I really love the folks who just return and fill us all in, so i promise to do the same. Iam regretting not doing CL at the Poly (there is no NO availability for my week and I keep checking) but next year we have booked GF SL(we were told the whole building is CL) for my birthday in June (we learned our lesson and booked early ) for a blissful week. For now we're looking forward to a fun week at the Poly:lovestruc

OK maybe someone there NOW can help with this...or anyone who's been to KONA recently....is the Tuna Oscar at Kona Cafe sear (raw) tuna or is it fully cooked? I'm trying to find a place for DH to get his fix of seared tuna (his FAVE!!!) and Living Seas USED to have it but now it seems it's off the menu. So how about KONA's Tuna Oscar?

the view from our room at the poly. :worship:
