Hey guys

Awhile back I saw some really good pictures of the Lodge's concierge level food offerings. They were different than the ones Majestic has on the photo site though, as they showed some of the mid day and evening offerings as well.

Does anyone know where they are?
I wanted to show them to DH.I am trying to talk him into accepting a upgrade if they offer us one.I have to convince him that it would be worth the extra money.

Chris/TooBoys4us,

Deb's web site AllearsNet has what you are looking for just click on the link and select Accommodations all of the resorts are listed on the lefthand side...just go to Wilderness Lodge Photos Text Links then check out Concierge...the photo's are great.

Thankyou Beckie .......
Thats exactly what I was looking for! Your the best!!

With 6 more days to go, I am suddenly finding myself on a quest to make sure I didn't miss something.
I just made a note of the 4th floor fireplace nook, and am off to see if I can find some more tidbits.

 I had to move my WL trip from this weekend (due to Hurricane Ivan evacuation from my home) to NOV 11 -14. BUT...we are in POR due to no WL rooms. When I just called to change all PS at the WDW-DINE number a great CM, Irene, listened to my tail of woe and was so sweet to look at WL availability...she saw a Honeymoon suite availaible and I have it on hold. It really sounds great.

Question --> Is $360 + tax any good deal for that room? She said she had a super-secret code and is holding room for the week. BUT...the websites say that $360 IS the value season rate anyway. What do you advise?? I cannot pay rack rate....no one does right?? We really want to get into WL and this could be our last chance. Does a code EVER apply to a honeymoon suite anyway??

Your thoughts please from all WL frequent fliers...I trust your opinions.

That's not really bad at all really. I know that some times of the year a normal concierge floor room can be up to $400 a night. The Honeymoon suites are really nice and include all of the ammenities you get with concierge access. I think I have pics of them somewhere....let me go look. ::yes::

I would jumo on that rate in a heartbeat but that's just me of course. :)

Enjoy your stay!

:bounce: Look, I'm jumpin'!! No actually not yet.

I feel so honored to have YOU answer since you are the WL guru...it's like having the president shake your hand! I have seen all of your photos!! I have dreamed many a dream looking at the jacuzzis and always wanted the Honeymoon suite but was very happy to just pay for the Woods. Money is tight but this is a very big occasion and was already ruined once by Ivan!

I am toying with the idea of surprising DH with it since he is not home but he might notice the EXTRA GRAND that I charge! I just don't get why the rate is not bad and why I should jump... I would feel like I was had by paying rack rate...why would she have said there was a super-secret code and then it is full price???

Majestic....I need your input on thisand really thank you !!

Wow I am QUITE flattered by your comments but alas I am far from being a guru. :) ::yes:: I am glad I am able to help though.

I just added some pictures of the Honeymoon Suite in my gallery. Click on the link in my signature and check out the room AND THE TUB! Woohoo! :) Beckie can vouch for it. It's really nice!! (She was there with me when we toured it with the manager of the floor.)

I think the pics will help out quite a bit in your deciding. Remember, the big plus is also having the concierge access. Food and snacks and drinks available all day long. Cast Members are also available to make priority seeting arrangements for you and they are full of good advice. Remember, they know the ins and outs. They work there and do this kind of thing every day.

We LOVE the concierge floor there!!

I am certain you will be pampered. That makes it even more worth it right? :)

LATigger

I will agree with Majestic. ::yes:: I loved the Honeymoon Suite and may even try and book it for my next trip....but...
I don't think that's a good rate, if you're looking for a discount. It just isn't bad for a Honeymoon Suite with Concierge.

The same thing happened to me when I called...they are giving people price quotes while looking under the discount codes but the concierge rooms are coming up at rack rate...this happened to me while checking on a concierge room over at the Animal Kingdom Lodge...I asked if she had any rooms avaliable under the Florida Residents discount codes she said yes...then quoted me rack rate...I told her and she said "Thats strange!!"....she said she would refer this to a manager, I was hoping they would correct this but apparently the computers discount rates haven't been corrected.

If you must stay at Wilderness Lodge this trip you may have to pay rack rate, or just keep calling, they may not have any discounts available on the information for Florida Residents it has:

Rate is available most nights 10/31- 12/25/04 but not available at all from 11/10 - 11/13/04 and 11/23 - 11/27/04. Select Deluxe Resort rate also not available at all from 11/5-11/6/04, 12/3-12/4/04 and 12/10-12/11/04. The number of rooms available at these rates is limited. Other room types may be available at varying rates.

Your dates are in the blackout dates listed...are you trying to use an AP rate? Because the general code Disney has out named 'Tis the Season for Great Rates starting at $55 at Select Disney Value Resorts has the same blackout dates...You might could get a discount for the one night November 14th. I know you have already changed your dates once but are there any other dates that would work for you when the discounts aren't list as not available???

Beckie/MAGICinMYHEART

Thanks Majestic &
MAGICinMYHEART! Fred, I love the new pics in the photo gallery! All very nice but still I am wondering about the rate. I don't have an AP...just passes form last year's trip, and no, Beckie, that is the only weekeknd left this year for us to sneak away. I saw that small window as blacked out....is that for Soaps weekend?

Do ya'll both agree that discounts HAVE BEEN GIVEN in the past on this room, or not? What I am hearing is that I will need to cough it up to stay there...probably. I think I will call and discuss it with a CM at CRO. If today wasn't the weekend my fab travel agent at Mouseketrips could help. I really wanted him to make the ressies for me but this DINE gal took a peek for me and caused all of this fun but perplexing saga.

So I have decided to divulge this to DH and give him a say in it...just might put a damper on the romance if he is fuming from the cost even though he would love the room! This is where 20 years of marriage makes one wise! Plus anticipation is half the fun of the WDW experince!

Will keep you posted and look for any further advise if something comes to you.
XO, Ann

Is it easy to get one day added on at end on vacation at WL? Can I get one with AP rate or the other special rates? What do you suggest? Thanks:Pinkbounc :bounce:

be very careful adding on that 1 more day to the end of your vacation
we did that in 01 - originally booked 6nights then on the last day added on another 3nights
then before we left we checked in to the disney vacation club and within a month bought in with VWL as our home!
1st time home in less than 2 wks

I have booked a handicapped room for the first week of Dec. in WL. Because there is only a king bed in the handicapped rooms, we were given an adjoining room for no extra cost for our party of four. However, I'm now concerned about the location of the room. I read in the beginning of this thread that most handicapped rooms are located in North Building, Wing A. According to what I read, that doesn't seem a desirable location due to delivery trucks, noise, etc. Has anyone stayed in one of the handicapped rooms in WL and what was it like?

Just to throw my 2 cents in on this.............

I've been trying to get a discount rate at WL for a month now, and have had no luck. Hence my first 5 nights are at AKL, where we have never stayed before, and I was able to get the 11-14th at WL, but at rack rate! That's going to hurt, but we wanted WL so badly and were just devastated that we couldn't get it for the whole stay. But everything happens for a reason, I don't know what it is, but..................at least we get 3 nights at WL, and I'm sure that AKL is going to be fabulous also. RIGHT??? Of course it is! Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I've been trying for those exact dates with a discount rate and got zilch.

And love that name of course! Your trip sounds very fine indeed! People love AKL but we passed on it and I don't really know why...we just did all of this changing so fast so we could evacuate...all on 3 hours sleep.

What you said really has helped me picture how hard it will be to get into WL from POR. I just did s/w DH and presented the scenario...he of course will think about it but doesn't like the cost. I don't either. We might just keep POR but Monday AM I will get my travel agent on this question and see what he knows about all of the rack rate jazz for that weekend. Boy, I sure know how to pick em...went right from choosing landfall day of Ivan to the blackout weekend in November...anyone who wants to play poker with me would surely win!

Thanks again for enlightening me as to WL booking difficulties and may all of you who have your WL stay locked in apppreciate it very much...or tell me and Tig-girl before you cancel!::yes::

LaTigger----- Love your name too! I wonder if people can tell who our favorite character is???
Yea, if budget is an issue, as it is with us, POR may be a better idea for you if you need to save $! It's hurting us just to pay rack rate for the last 3 nights, but we really HAD to stay at WL for a least part of the trip. :earsboy:
Now here is a question that some of you WL Vets who have split stays might be able to answer for me. If we are checking out of ALK and checking into WL on the same day, will they move our luggage for us, or what is the proper way to handle this. We were hoping to be able to just pack up at ALK, go to the parks for the day, and come back to WL to our new room and hit WCC for dinner! Is it going to be that easy, or do we have to do the moving ourselves??? Anybody know? Thanks!:wave2:

Thanks again Tig-girl -- we probably will let the Honeymoon suite go and I see some other rack rate options online so will s/w DTravelAgent Monday. I will post my saga outcome ...if...it ever resolves!

As for your question...I read about folks doing what you are hoping for...pack in AM at AKL and go have fun while they transfer your luggage to WL. Sounds like the way to go...enjoy the luxury and the lodge. I know that a pro will ring in on the details for you.

Over and out...my DBrain hurts!

I have never stayed in a accessible room before but have seen them. The post on the first page by AspiringCindy didn't say that most of the accessible rooms are located on the Northside of the building, actually it said most are located on the first floor Villa side, (South Wing) these would have a view of the pool by the villas. If located on the Northside 1st floor the rooms would be located in North Wing B there are no rooms on the 1st floor North Wing A. (Due to location of WCC and Artist Point & service area is located behind Artist Point) You would either have a woods view or inner courtyard view. So your rooms will be wonderful...Have a MAGICAL TRIP. :wizard:

ACCESSIBLE ROOMS FOR SPECIAL NEEDS: Most are located on the 1st Floor Villa side. There are also some on the North side 1st floor. There is 1 located on the 6th floor(lobby room) above Whispering Canyon. All accessible rooms at WL are King Beds, so if your party is larger than 2, a 2nd room is added at no additional cost(if booked through the special needs dept.)
*Seeing eye/service dogs can be accommodated in any of the rooms, but depend on the person's abilities...as to whether or not they need a handicap accessible room specifically.

Tig-girl

I knew those dates seemed familiar, I checked several locations and kept saying I have already done this before...When you posted I remembered checking everywhere for those dates...:p As far as having Disney move your luggage you should call Bellservices either the night before or the morning of your move, notify them when you call that you want your luggage transfered to the the WL, they will come to your room and take care of it for you. It maybe after 3:00pm before it arrives at the WL, after you check-in at the Lodge you will just call Bellservices for it to be delivered to your room, or notify the CM that checks you in they can also call and have the luggage delivered.
