Can you guys believe that we have 10 pages left in the thread before part 5? Wow!

Fred

I think it should be LATE January...it is cheaper and maybe someone else would be there too *hack, cough*

For Friday night, Oct 1 I used the BAT code to get a rate of $188/night including tax for a courtyard view room.

Mousesavers indicates the BAT rate for a Courtyard view room at WL at $149/night.

The $149 is for Value Season. October 1 is Regular Season at WL. That may be the best you can get.

Has anyone upgraded to concierge at check-in lately? What waw the cost? And the cost from what category?

THANKS! :sunny:

Hi, I was there September 10th, had two wood view rooms booked was told at check-in it would be an additional $60.00 a night per room.

Have a :wizard: MAGICAL TRIP :wizard:
Be sure to let us know some of the details from your trip...when you return home.

redwingsmickey......Have a great trip. And, I will see ya there, as we are leaving in TWO DAYS!!!

I'm just a wee bit worried about Jeanne, but if anything, I hope Orlando just sees a bit of her rain and wind.

I'm trying not to dwell on it too much though. I bought Sims 2 today, and that has me quite preoccupied :teeth:

Just read on allears.net that not all of the rooms at WL had balconies. Is this true? I was under the impression that they all had them. This is a must for our trip so I need to know if I need to request one. we are planning on a woods view. If that makes a difference.

I have a room location question. Is the area marked in red on these inner courtyard rooms the 5th or 6th floor? I have heard the ground level floors are actually 2nd floor rooms which would make them 6th floor. Are the dormers 7th floor concierge?

Thanks.

We are getting closer to our first trip to WL! I'm getting really excited! I have a question about the food available in the store. Last year we drove our car and were able to to go to a grocery store and bring in enough food to eat breakfast and lunch in the room each day (and then we could splurge on a nice sit down dinner each night). We have just decided to fly down instead this year, because we were able to get a fantastic deal. So, I know that I can pack a few non-perishables, but I'm obviously aware that the plan to eat in the room for breakfast and lunch every day is now not quite so feasible. I remember from the POR store last year that they had milk, and hostess doughnuts. Do they have anything else in the store of substance? Fruit? Bread? If anyone knows what kind of food they sell, or has any tips that would be great!

I think those might be 5th floor rooms. I remember reading somewhere that those dormer window balconies that are one floor above the one you indicated are on the 6th floor, and that the 6th floor is a smoking floor. So that would make your outlined balconies the 5th floor. I'm not quite sure though, I'm sure someone else will chime in who knows.

Hi dpic,

That room would be located on the 5th floor, Inner Courtyard View. The 7th floor doesn't extend out over the North Wing B that far, the 7th floor ends at the elevator above Roaring Fork. While the lobby it located on the second floor there are rooms on the ground floor on both the South and North Wings B.

The Mercantile does carry some groceries, all of what you listed and more..the Villas are next door to the Wilderness Lodge and the store carries more then just the few items listed as DVC members do cook in the Villas. I think you will be able to do what you originally wanted... eating some meals in your room, without any trouble.

Thanks, TooBoyz4us, JMac29, and Becky for help with the room location. I'm still struggling with what area we want to request. I'd love a Bear Face room, but there are so few of those, and--with Donald Duck's room number map help--some of those open to a hallway and not the lobby. There are many, though, in the North Wing inner courtyard I could be happy with. I'm thinking about requesting one of those then seeing if a Bear Face is available at check-in.

I asked my wife her thoughts, and she said she didn't care because she'll be happy to just be anywhere at WL. What a great perspective and what a great gal I have! ::yes::

End of Saga from last weekend...

MAGICinMYHEART and Majestic and Tig-girl were all so helpful in my stewing about moving 20th anniversary trip due to Ivan evacuation to November. Well...

I am very happy to report that DH rassled with the choice of POR discount room vs. WL Honeymoon suite at rack rate and lost his mind TOTALLY. He chose WL!!!!!!!!!!! We are booked and living in the dream world of anticipation about WL Honeymoon Suite with Concierge level luxury AND the chocolate marble Jacuzzi!!! We are so appreciative of the advise and encouragement that rack rate is not so foolish for that level of special-occasion luxury.

As you can see below...counting the days!
Ann:cloud9: :cheer2: :flower1: :cool2: :wizard: :upsidedow

Congratulations Ann! :Pinkbounc
I'm so happy that your DH lost his mind! What a trip you are going to have girl, and I want to hear all about it when you get back. Oh, and take lots of pictures of that room!:wave2:

(or better yet, show me in person! I forgot I'm going to be there at the same time!)

Congrats! Make sure you have a great time and take lots of pictures....

Remember, our friend FloridaCat used to say, "Pat the bear's nose to let the magic begin...."

That is in reference to Humphrey the bear who is located in the totem pole that is at the entrance to the mercantile.

Lastly, when you are there, please say hello to Daisy, Miguel, and the manager of the concierge floor Mark Newman for me? Tell them we are there in spirit. :) ::yes::

Will say hi to all Fred! That is good to know their names already!
Will take tons of pics to post! I told DH that we might never leave WL 7th floor due to luxury and R & R and that we might arrive home with the 3 day Park Hopper Passes intact. Usually I am a commando-style park gal that drives the family nuts but relaxing sounds too fun!

Tig-girl...I can't believe our trips are that soon! Do you all know where in this picture the 2 MK view Honeymoon rooms are? I thought AP Restuarant is on the right of this photo as you look at it and they were above there.
Ann

The restaraunts are on the right as you suspected.

**Update Again: I decided to add a picture to show you.

On the top of the north tower on the right is the VP Suite (look for the long balcony enclosed in a green square) and on the top of the south tower to the left is the Presidential Suite (look for 2 or 3 seperate balconies that all belong to the suite enclosed in an orange square.)

The concierge lounge area and food offerings are right where the "bear's eyes and nose" are in the blue square.

Unfortunately, the Honeymoon suites do "not" have a view of the main courtyard. They are on the other side and face either "side" of WL. You will not be able to have a pool view.

Sorry if I bursted your bubble. That said, I will say that the view is more than fine and it is nice a quiet.
