FYI everyone...thanks to Ronald Duck, I am making our own version of the WL Map you are all asking for. It's not done yet but as soon as it is I will let everyone know. :)

I thing the agency was mouse..... or had the word mouse in it somewhere. I know it is on this thread but I just haven't had time to look. Thanks for replying to the last question I just don't think thats the one I was reading about.

I thought we were keeping this a Facts only thread??!!
Here is a fact: Hugh looks great in that pic!!!

Well...I didn't say it had to be a fact about WL!:teeth:

Hey folks-

I've gotten soooo many requests today for the WL room map that I've decided to post it on the Web. It will take me a day or so to get it the way I want it, but then I'll post the URL for everybody.

Eventually, Majestic's will be available, and it will be better than the original one, but meanwhile you can use mine

Hang on til late Thursday or Friday latest!

Majestic, are you out there. I'm new to this board and I am staying at the WL for the first time Nov 28-Dec 2.

I saw you were working on a room database. Is it available?

Can anyone else help?

First off.....

WELCOME TO THE DIS AND WL FAQ!!

The database is not quite ready for public consumption as of right now but with some help from a few of my friends, it may get there sooner than I expected. :)

In the mean time, ask away and we will all try to help make your stay at WL as perfect as can be! ::yes::

In that case I'll ask again :p

I have a standard view room booked for December - my first visit to WL, is there any floor/block/side/view I should/can request?

I've tried reading through some of this huuuuuge thread but got distracted in amongst the facts :teeth:

In that case, my first suggestion would be to visit my WL Photo Gallery in my signature and browse through the balcony views. This would be a good place to start and would give you and us an idea of what you are looking for regarding a view.

You didn't mention a few things.

Is a view of the fireworks is important.

How about seeing the castle?

Maybe the Electric Water Pagent at night?

Is a pool view a must?

Do you want to be close to the main lobby or down towards the end of the wings?

Do you want or need to be near an elevator?

Just a few things that pop into my still sleepy head. I'm at work now so I better go do some! :)

Can't believe how long this thread is

Have booked a standard view - any point making any special requests ?

Thanks :teeth:

So .. not bothered about fireworks/EWP - only morning/afternoon view ;) Just wondered if t here were any areas to avoid more than anything - like a very noisy area when I want to sleep in after a late night at MVMCP ?

Planning on spending the morning/lunchtime exploring the REsort

I would suggest you ask for room that does not have the door facing the lobby. This would help you avoid the noice from the WC. We had one of these rooms and while it did not bother us, early risers, I think it would if you wanted to sleep in.

I would recommend a room on one of the higher floors (5th or 6th) and towards the end of the wings. I am pretty sure that the end of the North wing on the 5th or 6th floor is smoking (someone want to clarify that??? I can't believe I don't remember...) so if that's not for you, I would recommend south wing towards the end. If you want REAL quiet request a view of the Villas pool. It's nice and peaceful sitting on the balcony. Not much of a water view but nice.

Hope this helps.

Well, I've created a map showing all the WL room numbers, which views they are, and where they face.

I can guarantee that the room numbers are totally accurate...as for which floors do and don't have rooms, and how Disney currently designates them (i.e., Standard, Lodge/Woods, or Courtyard) , there may be MINOR inaccuracies. Hopefully Majestic or someone else "in the know" can find any places where I missed the mark a bit.

Anyway, here's the link...enjoy:

Are you sure this is for ALL floors? I believe the layout changes quite a bit from floor to floor but I may be wrong. I know that the 7th floor is very different.

Just want to make sure.

Your map was of the 4th floor originally wasn't it?

I was basing my map off of the one you shared with me so I believe this is a good way to get an idea of layout and room locations but I don't know for sure if it will be for every floor.

Just an observation. :)

Thanks for sharing though!

Thanks for the welcome. I had the same problem as TraceyL. Information overload and tough to navigate through all the details.

After 3 nights at Royal Pacific or Hard Rock, we are moving to WL for 4 nights between 11/28 to 12/2 with my wife, 11 year old son and 5 year old daughter. We've been several times but only stayed on property once (GF). Maybe this will be the start of something new.

At WL, I got a rate of $132 which seemed pretty good but it's a Woodsview, so I can probably only ask for so much. ($85 for the Moderates, so it was a tough call but this DIS forum seems to really like the WL and we like the convenience to MK).

If you can help me with a general area to request (e.g, North Wing between rooms xxxx and yyyy).

- We'd like to get the bunk beds.
- A view of the Castle light up would be nice (fireworks)
- Woodsview is ok, but not the service trucks view
- Not too close to an elevator (noise)
- I like being high rather than low.
- Convenience to the pool
- Kids will go to bed at 10pm and wake at 8am (so lobby noise during those hours would not be ideal). Noise after 8am and before 10pm would not be a big deal.
- View of pool or courtyard would be nice, but I don't think I can expect that at my rate.
- View of lake or pond, is a nice-to-have, not real important

Another general question since I will be staying in late Nov/early Dec. Are the pools heated enough to swim in the evening hours?

Thanks for you help.

A request you should make on your reservation.

5th or 6th Floor North Wing

5th or 6th Floor North Wing - Far End

- Not too close to an elevator (noise)

5th or 6th Floor North Wing - Far End

- I like being high rather than low.

Hrmmm...this may be tough. Maybe someone else can answer?

Correct. This would require an upgrade.

- View of lake or pond, is a nice-to-have, not real important

5th or 6th Floor North Wing - Far End should give you a minimal lake/water view. You will also have a good view of the otter pond. There is a family living in there and they are fun to watch in the early morning. :)

Take note that one of these floors (5th or 6th) is actually the smoking floor so if you don't want smoking make sure you mention that. I can attest that the wing itself smells like smoke the minute you walk out of the elevator. I can't remember if it is 5th or 6th floor. (I'm pretty sure it is 6th though.....)

7th floor (Concierge) has the best view of the castle and fireworks on the north side. (Less obstructions as you are higher up)

As for the pool question, I would say that depends on what you think is cold. I am pretty sure "I" could do it as I am from the northeast but I have heard from many people that are not used to the cold that it is not doable. I think it depends on a number of things.

Hope this helps!!!
