Just a quick note before I report to work...Take a deep breath and let it go...Ivan will be gone by your dates. All you can do is wait and after all the waiting we have done here in Florida I can tell you that it can make you crazy. But don't worry until you have too. Looks like your area is starting to receive some of the rain from F....... This is what has you on edge.

The weather after one of these storms is usually great, so just relax. You'll be at the Wilderness Lodge Soon.

Hi Laura,

Yes we are due to visit the Lodge Friday September 10, may have to cut the visit short because of the storm but we will keep a watch on Dear Ivan.

To all with an upcoming trip: I just called the front desk at the lodge and per the CM I spoke with the slide has been repaired and is now working.

I was wondering about where you all find all of the discounts mentioned - AP rates, postcards, e-mails. I know that mousesavers list some but was wondering how you are getting e-mails and postcards - I am guesing that AP means Annual Pass. Also want to say thanks to everyone for all the wonderful info - after seeing a special on WL on the Travel Channel my husband finally started to get excited about going to Disney next year and after all the stuff I have read here it just makes it that much harder to wait.

I have read this entire thread and I still haven't been able to locate Majestic's trip report from when you stayed at the Poly.

Hooray!!!! We will be at WL on FRIDAY!!!!!! Got everything squared away with Concierge and now all I have to do is finish packing.
It just keeps getting better!!!!!!!!!!

We are booked for a c/y view room i requsted a bunkbed room is there an area that still offers a view but is fairly quiet you guys might recommend. I'm so excited our trip is just under a month a way! I still have not let the surpise that we are only at asmo for 1 night out yet! Then we move to WL for 3 nights. Any tips on moving we will have our car but i'd like to keep the surpise as long as possible. We have ps brk for whispering canyon the morning we check in.

I posted yesterday that I called the front desk and asked the CM if the slide had been repaired, she left the line for a few minutes and when she came back she said yes repairs have been completed. The pool was never closed...just the slide.

Anyone on suggestions for a quiet courtyard view room that still has a view? Also, does anyone know the status of ref. being put at WL yet? WE are due the first of next month any chance of them having them at WL without having to pay 10 a day? Thanks Tammy

Okay - I'm new to this board and a little confused. Not sure if I should post here but everyone is always so helpful. I posted the question yesterday about discounts - I had three responses that I was informed of via my email - but I don't know where the responses are??? Did they show up in my e-mail - of course I already deleted them so I can't look? thanks in advance for all the help. PS if you responded to the discount question do you mind answering again.

You were probably sent a "PM" (private message). Kindof like a email only for Disers.

Go to the USER CP at the top of the (most) boards. It will take you to your profile and lead you to any private messages that you have.

I have never found any Courtyard View room to be noisy, but a few have said they could hear people at the pool, If this is a concern just ask for a room on a higher floor...4th or 5th.

Not sure about the status of the refrigerators being placed in all the rooms yet, Disney has been so busy over the last few weeks...I am due to check-in Friday I will post status when I return in about a week.

I'll deliver your message to Humphrey, and Ranger Stan , we should be having dinner at WCC Friday September 10th around 6:00pm. (Would that be around 1:00am Saturday morning there?) I'm not brave enough to take all four nephews to Artist Point for dinner, afraid the two youngest (Bailey & Blake) would think they where at WCC, not sure what would happen if another guest requested Ketchup...

First WELCOME to THE DIS and the Wilderness Lodge FAQ Thread

You are correct about the AP-rates these are special rates that Disney offers to the guest that buy the annual pass. They also have specials for Florida Residents, and other areas of the country including Canada from time to time. They have general discount codes that are offered to everyone. So if you keep your eyes on the DIS there are discounts availiable for most dates though-out the year. You have to be fast and call the morning they release the discount codes if you have a set date or resort you have to stay at, but people will work around the date and resort to recieve a great deal. The postcards and general E-mails come from Disneys guest list and once you make a reservation or visit over on the Disney World web.site (and regesture on the mailing list) you may recieve a postcard with a great discount code. It is all a mystery (MAGIC) how someone gets picked to recieve a postcard.

Mousesavers is usualy the first to have the discount codes, but around the time for the codes to come out...there will be many threads on the Resort Board that will track the days down until the codes are released.

Thanks Laura. I see your in n.fl we are just 40 miles from flordia state line we call jacksonville our home half the time. Our triplets where born there and we are there many times a month just to shop, eat and be entertained.

I hear you all mention Artist Point what exactly is that resturant about? I have ressies' for WC for brk the morning we check in since we are just moving from ASMO. I'm struggling trying to find other places for us. I have a CM ps booked for the evening we arrive just before the mnsshp. Thanks everyone.

Hello everyone! Sorry that I sort of 'disappeared' after our trip to WL in February (which was AWESOME ). Immediately after our return home...we discovered we had taken a 'stowaway' with us! Our little girl is due to arrive in about 6 weeks This was not a souvenier She actually has already made her first trip to the World. At any rate, we have been busy with all that adjustment (our boys are 8 1/2 and 10 ) and preparations.

We did have an awesome stay and we were thankful, as always, for all the incredible information on these boards.

We hope to go back to WL someday soon!
