Hooray, The PIXIE DUST worked once again...

I have stayed at "The other Lodge" several times, it is beautiful, and so unusual. I could spend hours in the gift shop ZAWADI Marketplace. You will have Storytelling at Arusha Firepit, (6:30pm) Cookie Decorating during the day, they also have tours of the Lodge.

The views out over the savannas are wonderful, even if you're not staying in a Savanna View Room, there are many cozy viewing areas that are right in the middle of all the animal action.
Both times we stayed at AKL we stayed on the main level and were located off the Zebra Trail with a view of the Arusha Savanna.

I'm one of a very few, that didn't enjoy the food at Boma but the rest of my family all loved eating there. I think the first thing I ate had too much curry powder then everything else tasted the same. (I'm not a fan of curry) Victoria Falls Lounge and the Uzima-Springs Pool Bar are great...be sure to try something totally exotic.

I know it isn't the Lodge but it is a wonderful resort.

I have heard mention of a Wilderness Lodge Lincoln Log kit before.
Does anyone here know if they still sell it, and where we can buy one?
Oh yes, and about how much $$$ it is?

The Wilderness Lodge Lincoln Log Set is so cool...I purchased one last year for my youngest nephew...he loves Lincoln logs and has quite a collection...The set when put together is a replica of the Lodge. They are sold only at the Wilderness Lodge Mercantile and are right at $50.00...it is a large set. My nephew was so excited when we completed putting it together he said "Hey, where's the Magic Kingdom?" (He was 4yrs old)

I believe they also sell the WL lincoln log set at the toy store in Downtown Disney. They also have make your own lincoln log sets where you fit as much as you can into a box and still be able to close it (my husband got lots in the box!). They had cute little plastic mickey and assorted friends plastic cowboys and indians for the sets.

Wow, thanks for the additional information, we will be visiting WDW next week and my nephew Mr. B will be with me, the boys hardly ever get pass the Mr. Potato Head Station so I'll have to check out the Lincoln logs.

One of the DVC Members, that just returned from the Villas @ Wilderness Lodge reported that the side had a broken pipe, not sure how long it will take to fix. I will be at the Lodge next Friday I'll check it out and report when I return home...hoping it will be fixed soon.

I'll be there next Saturday11th. So hopefully it will be I know with the current condtions it isn't top prority but Disney doesn't usally let something like this go long? The only reason I ask is Because my Son will be very upset he is a big pool person. KELLY

When I first read about the pool I actually picked up the phone to call the Lodge's front desk, then I remembered...we're under a Hurricane Warning and the rain bands are starting to come in...I may call next Tuesday and check on the slide...I too have five nephews, and three nieces that will miss the side. There may even be a mutiny

Is the box that they come in so large that we should consider having it shipped home seperately?
Will the the WL Mercantile do that for us?

We are taking a extra average sized suitcase to bring goodies home in, but if its a pretty large box we may ship it instead.

The Wilderness Lodge Lincoln logs come in a round container that has about a 12'-15' circumference and the height is about 14'. If I was going to pack it I would use a duffel bag, but the Mercantile will ship it for you.

Here in North Florida we are under five different storm advisories:
Hurricane Watch
Tropical Storm Warning
Tornadoe Warning
Tornadoe Watch
Flood Warning

We are just now starting to recieve some of the high winds, expected to gust over 50mph. This morning we have already had several reports of tornadoes touching down. (I hate tornadoes) Many people have lost power, my parents home included, but they are staying with one of my sisters very close to where I live.

We have all been on the phones together most of the morning, my Nephew Blake just had an confrontation with my younger sister the rain had stopped and he was leaving...said he was going down to his friends house...DSis said "OH NO YOU'RE NOT."
Blake..."Mom it isn't even raining now!" Dsis during the height of the discussion "I'll tie you to that chair if I have too, you are not going outside." My sister won that one.
