i've seen some pictures of the christmas tree at the lodge but what makes Wilderness Lodge so popular duing the holidays? i'm trying to picture it but if someone could fill me in on what we will see when we go in december i will be so HAPPY:Pinkbounc

Hi all you fabulous WL experts! While finalizing plans for our trip coming up in 4 days to the Lodge I thought of two questions for you...

I know that I can request a coffee maker at no charge when we arrive at the lodge, but will they supply coffee, creamer, sugar and filters or do I need to bring those from home?

Also, I am hoping for an upgrade to concierge at check-in, which I know will be an extra charge per night if we get it. I was trying to explain concierge to DH (a 220 lbs. country boy who can't even pronounce concierge!) this afternoon to get his opinion, but of course he was half listening to me! I did finally get his attention when I mentioned that concierge offers "adult drinks." He immediately asked if that included beer and what brand. So my question is...does concierge offer beer and if so what brand(s) do they offer? Them having beer is my only chance at getting DH's approval for spending the extra money per night!

Thanks so much!

I believe they will bring you as much as you want. We haven't been charged for it in the past but we also don't use the in room coffee maker much. Just for those late nights relaxing when I could really use a cup. We usually stay concierge so you have access to coffee anyway.

I know they offer Heineken but am not sure what else. That's all I usually drink anyway. Last I was there I remember them having maybe one other brand. It usually not out for you to just grab but asking a cast member will get you one quick! :) :teeth: ::yes::

The late night cordials are a plus too! :)

Did you try expedia? They are great about telling you what rooms are available. I put in my dates 11/27 - 12/4. It told me that the Sun-Wed was available. So I called WDW and asked them for those specific dates, and I was able to get them. I already had a AAA discount for the full week, so I can split up that reservation to cover my full stay. Otherwise I would split the stay with a FW cabin or PO-R.

Try it out

Sorchamac................Thanks. I had been checking on there and couldn't come up with anything, I guess because of the need for 2 rooms. (My sister's family is going too). I think I'll go check again, just for the heck of it!

Did you ask Dreams ? BETH there always find us the best deals, even when boards say all discounted rooms have gone.

or ... maybe you can book a suite and share with your sister ?

Pixie dust your way ! You WILL be staying at the lodge !

Hi All,

I was lucky enough to book a concierege room for November and I'd like to make sure I'm not overlooking a parking lot. Anyone have any suggestions as to what area to request. Specific room suggestions would also be appreciated. Thanks!

Please see my Wilderness Lodge Photo Gallery in my signature. There are plenty of balcony shots there to help you decide. Many from the 7th floor too. I know there are at least 2 views from rooms I stayed in.

If you want to be sure you don't get a parking lot view, ask for North or South Wing Inner Courtyard view. This would be a room with a view of the main pool and waterfall below.

You could also ask for a Villas Pool view which is south wing but the ones on the corner would still have a slight view of the parking lot.

Good luck.

Laura- thanks for the reports. I have not read them yet (time is limited!) but I did see some of the pics! Good luck with school, I'm sure you'll do just fine with your "news"!

Hello Everyone! STILL no luck with reservations with code at the lodge. I'm getting so discouraged. My sister is ready to book at the ASMo, but I have not become completed defeated yet! DH says he ONLY wants the lodge, as do DS's, so I am just praying for a couple of rooms at a decent price! Pixie Dust Needed!! ::yes::

an acquaintance was having trouble getting codes for her stay )not at WL) when a very helpful CM said he would search day by day for the dates she wanted. Using this approach she was able to secure the discount for 6 of her 7 days. She did end up with a split ressie, but the CM noted on the ressie that she would like to stay in the same room. I don't know why this approach worked, but she was happy that it did.

Don't give up hope! Do what I said and call every day in the AM.

PD to you! :) ::yes::

Thanks Guys, but I don't think there is enough pixie dust in all the magic kingdom for this wish! I call everyday, and the news just gets worse and worse. Apparently, the week I picked which was supposed to be so UNbusy, is turning out to be MEGAbusy! They extended the food and wine festival, and supersoap weekend is the 13 and 14th, so it's booked everywhere. NOT how I wanted to spend the vacation, but it wouldn't be so bad if I had my place at the lodge:(

To all of you who sent pixie dust and good wishes...............THANK YOU! Okay, so I don't have the entire stay at WL, but guess what? I was able to get a split stay and we are staying at "the other Lodge", with the discount! Pretty excited here, let me tell you. DH always wanted to try "the other Lodge", and now he gets his wish. We are really happy to even have a few days at WL, and they are at the end of the stay, so it works out really well. NOW I feel like I am going on vacation!
Has anyone here every stayed at "the other Lodge"? I have to start researching here on the boards, but if anyone has any first hand advice or into, let me know!
