Hi well I went last September and Corky was right the Fairy Tail pakage really pack them in so September crowds where way up. If you want the best time, I have a new favorite...second week in November The Christmas Decorations will be up and there are no crowds. Plus that time period also falls into the Value Season. There where also great rates...$109.00 +tax for standard room, which when I checked in I was upgraded to a Inner Courtyard View. Beautiful Weather Tropical Storm Season has slowed down and low crowds.

Have a Great Trip.

First week of October is really pushing it since we would like to enjoy the pool at resort. I know pool is heated but I am not sure we all really can enjyo swiming on November. Thought September was not crowded? since school has already started?
Hopefully fist week of October won't be that bad.... I know how beautiful WDW turn into around Christmas time. We were there for Chirstmas a couple of years ago and we all ejyoed it. However, we are doing family of 15 getting together and we do not have that much of choice. Do you know how crowded in October? Hope we can get some deals on the room.... Thank you for your advise.

Beckie,

I usually don't like to travel that close to Christmas, but you make it sound soooo inviting.....I may have to re-think my position.

Magicrincess.......have a great time and make sure you enjoy a beverage by the fireplace!

Thank you all for such a nice welcome! Just the simple fact that you are all so generous and friendly with your comments and time and that you all LOVE WL says something in that of itself! WL must be a great resort that attracts such friendly people. Car manufacturers say that certain cars attract certain personalities - i.e. there are chevy people and honda people, etc. Well you all who are WL people seem to be about the same warm, friendly, personality. I hope I find some of that on our vacation!

Thank you and hugs to you all who have helped me decide; WL it is!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

...pixie dust gal! sure has US pegged!!:teeth:

Can anyone tell me if there is Internet access at the WL? Taking DH (CPA) away during tax season and need to have access for last minute returns!

Thanks!

Not yet but it is planned from what I have been told. They still need to upgrade the network in the building for that to happen and even then, it will be done in the Villas first. Again, this is only from what I have been told.

For now, whenever I am down I use myfreei.com for 10 hours a month of dialup for free. It's then a $1 per hour after that and they have a local access # to WL and Disney. Remember, even a local call has a 76 cents per call charge but no per minute. I usually connect 2 to 3 times a day when we are down.

Hope this helps.

Fred

I am sorry if this has been asked here, but does anyone who just went to WL recently remember the order of the boat route to MK and Contemporary? Did it stop at FW on the way?
Thanks!

Other then falling and injuring my knee, it was a great time to visit WDW. Plus its enough time before Christmas that you don't miss any scheduled Christams activities at home. I also did some Christmas shopping while there, and received many smiles Christmas morning. (Simba had extra travel time on the sliegh)

Glad to finally be part of Wildneress Lodge FAQ Members Photo Gallery. Thanks for all you do.

In all my years of visiting WL I have never been on the large boat when it went to Ft. Wilderness Campground...In the mornings the launch goes to Ft Wilderness then WL then MK in the afternoon the scheduled reversed and went from MK to WL to Ft Wilderness.
So time spent on the large launch was very minimal. Other then human nature to "BE THERE" either MK, or back to the WL, the boat trip is very enjoyable.

Opps just reread your question....The boat that goes to MK doesn't go to The Contemporary. There are two boats that have two colored flags. A small Launch runs a continuous circle from WL to FW to Contemporary. It has a blue flag. The MK boat is larger and flies a green flag.

Hope this helps.

Coko- we have been to the WL twice in October and both times it was plenty hot enough for swimming. The weather was pretty much in the 80s both times (once the first week and once the last week of October)

Yep, also have been in October for my Birthday (first week) weather was beautilful and smaller crowds because northern schools are back in session, they go back later then we do here in the South. Crowds do increase later in the month because of MNSSHP, plus The International Food and Wine Festival starts Oct 1st this year, so it all depends.

Oh and my nephews swam the second week of November this year weather was in the high 70's during the day plus with the pool being heated they also swam at night.

Thanks for all your help! We decided to stay in WL from 9/29 to 10/3. In case we do not get any discount, at least we pay cheapest rack rate. Hopefully we can at least upgrade to concierge level or something.... Please kindly advise me what do you think about WDW Rep vs Travel Agency for trip of 15 people?
Would you recommend Travel Agency? If so, would be any charge by them?

I have never used a TA always booked my own room and have Florida Seasonal Pass for tickets. Love making my own PS so no help from me...you may want to post a TA question on Main Resort Board, if you don't recieve any information over here on the WL FAQ thread.

Thank you for your reply. Ok. I may post this question to mail resort page if I don't see too much reply. Thanks!

Hi All,

We're staying at the WL Nov. 26- Dec. 4! My MIL can only stay 1st or 2nd floor. Are there any Standard View Rooms on these floors? She get anxiety/panic attacks if she is any higher.

I thought about a handicapped room for her. She does have pins/rods in one of her legs and the handicapped bathroom might be good for her because of the bars.
