Mark has already started plans for two new lounges to be added to existing dead space areas on the floor. The designers have come up with some beautiful ideas, Mark also has several plans to update the Lodges offering by possible adding all the Jr. Suites access to concierge as well as all or parts of the sixth floor for guest who prefer the open balconies. We where shown one on the Deluxe Honeymoon Suites it was much larger then standard room and it has a beautiful bath area.

Beckie thanks for the info!

I did read this before but I didn't think that they would block CL Reservations though, We have CL booked for Sept. and wonder if this will effect our trip. Maybe it will be done by then... Now that would be cool.

Thanks again!

Here is some info I posted on a different thread about the food offerings

The food offerings were similar to what we have experienced at other WDW hotels. Breakfast usually conists of struedel, bagels, muffins, cereals, juice, coffee, mixed fruit (at WL it is small chunks and not a platter of sliced fruit.)

Mid-day offerings are pretzels, nuts, cookies, gummy bears, iced tea, lemonade, soda, croissants, etc.

5-7pm has cheese, crackers, breads, marinated veggies, pb and j uncrustables, fruit, soda, one hot entree and a hot soup selection. On the nights we were there they offered BBQ ribs, chicken noodle soup, chili, chicken with rice and some other things I am forgetting.

In the evening they usually offer berry cobbler or apple crisp, cookies, brownies, individual sized desserts that change on a regular basis along with many cordials and other beverages.

The food was also plentiful while we were there. There was always something different in the evenings that was hot and fresh.

Hi everyone -- I haven't read the entire post but about the first 10 pages and just wanted to ask your advice .. I have reserved one night only here 11-5 checking out to go home on 11-6 ( towncar is coming at 8:30am ) I was thinking about asking when we check in to upgrade to concierge ? we will be coming from the BCV on 11-5 going to the MK and coming back to the WL that evening .. do you think it would be worth the extra $$$$ .. my party consists of Me (33) my Mom (50ish ) my DD (10 ) and DS (8)

Thanks Michelle

Hello everyone!

Well after much discussion and trying to work out a trip this summer, it seems as though the Wilderness Lodge will play host to my family! This will be our first visit but to be honest this is where we have always wanted to stay. For one reason or another (price...availability..etc.) we always had to pass up, but with the rate of $124 with the new code from mousesavers we can't pass up the opportunity!

Well I've been reading this thread and looking at pictures and I'm pretty excited. My dad from the first time he saw it, has always wanted to stay at the Wilderness Lodge the most out of all of us.

This post has been very helpful! We are going to book the room today!

Most likely we will be booking a stand view/regular view so I was wondering if anyone can reccomend any floor/room #'s that we can request near our arrival date? How exactly do we put in requests, through phone/fax?

Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks a lot,

Mike

Hey pkdcoastrs! Glad to hear you'll be visiting WL. When in July do you plan to book? I'm in Atlanta now, but born and raised in Bergen County. I haven't been there in 10 years - I get nostalgic from time to time! What city are you in?

I'm sorry I don't know any good room #'s for you - someone on this board will be able to help you. We'll be there July 12-19 so maybe we'll see you! Laura

Most likely July 27th - August 1/2 or we might decide and go July 7th-12th for my birthday (July 9)

I'm from Dumont, where were you from?

Here is Majestic's Balcony Shots.. I have taken my list of room choices to the front desk and asked if the room was available..if not, they have put me as close as they could...sometimes even upgrading me for free!!
WL Balcony Shots

Also, click on my WL Photo's in my signature..there is room 2113 there!

That's too funny, Mike - I'm from Bergenfield!! Lived on Hickory Avenue, right across the street from Jefferson Elementary School for many years! I still have a cousin in Tenafly, otherwise, we've all moved away. How is the old area?!!

My fabulous DS had his last day of school today and brought home a really good report card. (He has worked very hard this year and made some terrific gains). I would like to do something at WL as a particular way of marking this good job. Does anyone have any great ideas for a special thing I could do for him? He's nine years old and game for just about anything. I'd like to surprise him if I could.

Thanks!

Sarah

Well over the years the area is definetly getting more and more crowded. I'm only 19, but from talking to my parents they have also noticed a great increase in people and building of new houses. It seems as though when people moved to Hudson county, that eventually got full so now everyone is heading to Bergen County!

It's still a great area though, but of course when you live here one probally doesn't appreciate until they move somewhere else. My family always say they can't wait to move out, but in the end I bet it will always be a great place.

If you don't think he'd be "too" embarressed, take him to dinner at WCC. Slip a note to your server or speak w/ the hostess & let them know about his wonderful grades. Ask them to make a bit of a "fuss"! ;) :p

The gift shop has all sorts of neat things. Maybe let him pick out a special souvineer.

Do any of you vets know if WL has a surcharge for accepting packages?

We will either have to make a grocery stop to purchase diapers and pull ups for DD and DS or are thinking about having a small ordered delivered from Netgrocer . A poster on another board mentioned that CSR charged $30 to accept a package for delivery.

Also, has anyone ever had a package of supplies delivered to them at the Lodge? Did you use Netgrocer or another service? What were your experiences with the vendor and the CM's at the Lodge?

As always, thanks for all your help. I enjoy checking in with all of you each day to see what is happenig.

:) :)

I see by your counter that you have booked your room at WL (?) Too bad we won't be there at the same time. I have a 19 year old daughter (that's "Rachel") but she's not coming with us anyway. :( We'll be at WL in 18 days - can't wait!! I know you and your family will have a wonderful time (and Happy Birthday in 2-1/2 weeks, Mike!)

Thanks for the birthday wishes, and yes I'm really looking forward to the Wilderness Lodge. It's funny watching my dad talk about how he's actually looking foward to going (usually he says the whole "wdw again, why it 's the same stuff).

Too bad Wilderness Lodge doesn't have tennis courts :( They don't right? Can we use Fort Wilderness (if they have them?)?

Anybody who has done the boat rentals at WL on the Family plan....are there enough boats or does there always seem to be a shortage???

Trying to decide if we should spend the money...and if it is difficult to get boats I think I'll pass...

We need one of the WL experts out there - are there tennis courts available for WL guests?

Thanks! :wave2:

JULYBRIDE - I can't answer the charge for accepting a package question but I have heard of people sending packages to the resort they are staying at via UPS. I guess they buy the items ahead of time, send the package to their attention to the resort they are staying at and time it to arrive a day or two before they do.
