Can someone please tell me when WL's anniversary is? We will be there May 23-28 for Member Homecoming staying in the Villas.

I booked our ressies for Nov. 26- Dec. 6 today! I had posted before about my MIL needing a 1st or 2nd floor room. (Anxiety Disorder) I called the Special Reservation number and the CM told me that they couldn't guarantee it because of the Thanksgiving Holiday. I told her thank you and hung up. I immediately called again. The second CM told me that I could get a guaranteed room and did I want to book today.

I have learned so much from these boards. If you don't like the answer that you get, call back! I am so thankful that my MIL will feel safe and secure in a 1st or 2nd floor room. She has never been to WDW:eek:, and I want this trip to be special for her and my FIL. They have done a lot for my family, especially my learning disabled son.

Now, has anyone gotten an AP rate at the WL for the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving? I have read where people have gotten them on Sunday but I believe Friday and Saturday are rare.

I am really looking forward to our first stay at the WL.

Lori

I don't want to make you panic but I would recommend that you call and confirm your room request at LEAST two time between now and the time of your trip. Make sure that you also ask that the General Manager be made aware of your request as it is something that can cause great problems with your trip from what I can gather. Sometimes being overly cautious is a good thing right? :)

You will love your stay at the Lodge. This much I can assure you. ::yes::

So you think it would be okay for me to talk to the BIG GUY, general manager. I will do anything that you suggest.

Thanks,

Lori

What does WL concierge offer? (as far as food or beverages) etc. and please tell me more about it, I am interested in possibly upgrading to it for my May trip if at all possible. Is it worth the extra money? How much extra is it per night? Any info on this would be very helpful to my family. TIA Peylog

I don't remember exactly where I previously posted this in the past so I have to go on memory now.....I will do my best

Breakfast
juices
milk
coffee/tea
cereals
croissants
bagels
fruit
danish
muffins

during the afternoon hours they typically had:

cookies (the sugar cookies are great)
mixed nuts
gummies
whole fruit
iced tea
lemonade
coffee/tea

in the evening:

a soup
a hot dish (stew, or spring rolls, or???)
bread with a really yummy spread
crudites
cheeses and fruit tray
crustless PB&J sandwiches (absolutely delicious)
soda, wines, coffee/tea

late evening:
a dessert (usually a cobbler or pie)
assorted cookies, brownies
wine/cordials/coffee/tea/hot cocoa

There are a few things I'm sure I've forgot, but I think that gives you the idea.....it was all really yummy.

We loved Concierge on our trip, and for us it was worth it. I think it is subjective for everyone whether it is "worth" it to you.
If you book it ahead of time it usually costs about $100 a night I think....someone can correct me if I'm wrong. If you go for an upgrade at check in I have heard it run anywhere from $40 to $60 a night.

Again, it is subjective.....my family really loved the time it saved us and we loved the CM's. They were very helpful to us. One of the big things we really loved was being able to have breakfast before we headed to the parks. It saved us time and got us started out without delay.

They were very accomodating with anything that we asked for that they could help with.

My goodness, Thanks so much for all your info, I really appreciate the time you took to type all of that. It really helped me alot, any more suggestions would be appreciated too! Peylog

...WL'ers!! Just got back Mon. night from Williamsburg, Va (ECA National Championship)....our PeeWees took 2nd place runner-up, our Juniors got 1st place runner-up, and our Senior squad are
ECA NATIONAL CHAMPS! (2 years in a row!! WOOHOO!!)

Looking forward to June at the WL!

Fred, I completely agree with calling the GM, as we had a little problem at the YC last week with our room assignment.

::yes::

Bumping up for healthclub info and to give the BIG THUMBS UP to
WL Concierge!
Ida called yesterday and got us the Grand 1 booked for Father's Day as well as all those hard-to-get princess breakfasts!

What great service!::yes::

BT, congrats on the G1. Would you mind sharing with the rest of the class the costs involved with booking the G1? How long is the cruise? Do they serve dinner on board?

Share the wealth will ya? :) ::yes:: :teeth:

Certainly Fred!

the Grand 1 is part of WDW's fleet for specialty cruises!
This one is a 45-foot Sea Ray which holds up to 12 guests and gives you a private tour of the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake and ends with a front-row seat for the Magic Kingdom Wishes FW!
It departs from the GF, but will stop at the Poly, WL, CR to pick-up guests!

The cost is $350 per hour, tax inclusive, and includes a driver and a deckhand. They can serve meals, desserts, whatever you want!

In fact, Ida will be sending me the menu and I will share it when I receive more info!

Now....about the Healthclub at WL?
Any info here about that?:wave2:

Actually, I believe the health club is at VWL and unfortunately, I have never been there so I can't offer any help. I have heard that it is a limited service thing such as massages and stuff. If you want the real deal I remember them recommending heading on over to the GF.

For what it's worth I guess. :)

The VWL healt club-Sturdy Branches-is amazing!

My DH has had several massages there and will certainly spend some time there this May. They have a nice selection of equipment and a very pretty setting to look at while you work out.

Of the massages he has had there, at Vero Beach and here at home-he said the first one he had at VWL was the best.

You can always go over and take a look around. I'm not sure what the charge is. I think we get free use of the fitness center when we are staying on DVC points.

The only thing missing is a full service spa.

Is there a particular service you are interested in?
