Oh No!!! Crisis....:scared1:

I tried to do online check in and it kept giving me error messages. I finally called member services and they told me that during the computer system upgrade, some of the reservations didn't transfer properly and they had to "re-book" them by hand. She said I had a new confirmation number. Nice... should they not have sent me a new confirmation paper?:confused3 So she tells me, she can't see my whole reservation because mine is made with 2 nights on my own points and 3 nights on points I rented from another DVC member. She couldn't see the 2nd half. Odd.. the DVC member services CM could see it 2 weeks ago.:confused3 So I assumed all was well. She said that the system went back up 2 hours ago and I should have no trouble with online check in now. No luck. So I waited til later...and I had things to do. So later in the evening, I go to do online checkin and I can see BOTH parts of my reservation.... sounds good... right...??:confused: The first part says... check in Nov 21st 2 nights... connected to check in Nov 23 2 nights!:scared1: WHOAAAAA ... 2 nights.... it should be 3!!!!! So I panic..:scared1: and I contacted the Disney reservations chat person... something new I guess... they told me to call central reservations. Which I did... but they can't see DVC reservations... even their highest manager couldn't help. :sad2: So tomorrow... I have to call member services. Hopefully.... its a glitch in the system and my reservation wasn't shortened one day... esp. since we have Friday night at the Pop. Hopefully I'm not resortless on Thursday night... Thanksgiving day!! My original confirmation paper with the original confirmation number has the CORRECT dates and information. I'm full of worry. And if that isn't bad enough.. my son never got his ME voucher. Called ME directly. They mailed it on the 9th of Nov.. but..... they addressed it to Myself, not to HIM. They put SIT instead of FIT for the name of the college. I guess that is in the state of Slorida instead of Florida. :confused3 she got the street address correct, but didn't put his box. So, his college mail center receives a piece of mail addressed to someone's mother with no box number and they're supposed to know where to put it?:confused: They claimed that since the vacation is MY reservation, they couldn't put any other name on the ME mail. That's funny, last year when my MIL came with us, they sent her ME packet to her home address with HER name on it.. not mine! They can't do that in this instance???:mad: Do they think the mail person is a mind reader? UGH!!! The ME man said his name is on the list though, so all he has to do is show up at the ME desk and show his picture ID and he'll be put on a bus to SSR.

At least the weather is looking good... a little cool maybe for swimming... but I see no rain so far.... :woohoo:

I'll let you know what member services says when I call in a panic tomorrow.
 
2 more days till Disney! We leave tomorrow at noon-ish!

All packed and ready to go, except for a few last minute things like makeup, contacts, ect....

Going to drive till 10 or 11, stop and sleep, then on to Caribbean Beach we go!

Oh I surely hope everything works out when you get hold of member services today, I know you more than likely did not get much sleep I know I would have been one crazy person till I got it all resolved.
ME seems to be able to accomidate when there are reservation problems I have seen many times people being told to show up your on the list etc etc so I think DS will be fine with that.

You know I do not get it Disney does these updates and seem to keep losing things, don't they do a back up to save the info before :confused3 they scare me :scared1: :rotfl:

Ok... 3 calls to member services.... don't you love when you do not get the same information twice from 2 different people?:confused3

Yesterday's member services person told me she couldn't view the linked part of my reservation because it was under my friend's brother's DVC membership number. She said if I get their member # she can open that screen. Today, I talked to someone who put me on hold, did NOT ask for the other person's member number, came back and told me it was all good. Check out dates were correct. Ok fine... then I hang up and go to do online check-in. Nope... error message. Call member services back. This person couldn't see the 2nd half of my reservation. I asked... but the other one could?? She said no, its not possible. So, after a while.. we figured out that the cast member this morning had called directly to Saratoga and verified the information because the resort has the information at this point. She (Lydia) called over to SSR and yes, indeed, the reservation is correct and that must be what this morning's cast member did when she had me on hold. No need for last nights paniced called to 1) my friend to get her brother's phone number in Fredericksburg, and 2) to her brother in Fredericksburg to get their member number. Their # does me no good. So... my reservation is confirmed all good. The Disney online check-in system however... not so good. They're having problems with the "upgrade".. which at this point... looks like a downgrade. It is a mistake in the system that it shows the 2nd half of my reservation as only 2 nights not 3. It is also an error in the system that its not working at all at any given moment... so currently, I'm not checked in online. But I'm gonna not worry about it and go pack. :yay:

The only thing that is "packed" is my Disney tote bags that basically... always stay packed with the Disney essentials such as lanyard, ponchos, Disney wallet (includes my Winn-Dixie Card, DVC card, CHoice hotels card etc).. just need to transfer my other important info into it. I have 2 grocery bags near the pantry getting filled as I think of things. I have a packing list that I've been keeping updated for years. I just have to go print a fresh copy.. and I'm gonna start packing the clothes.

10 day forecast looks good... sun or part sun with upper 70's, a few low 80's.:wizard:

And, as no trip seems to be complete without a minor crisis, DD was up a god hour past bedtime last night coughing from nasal drip. I gave her that last ofthe perscription decongestant I had, and put a call in to the doc for more. Let's hope that knocks it out.

We have requested adjoining rooms with our friend's who arrive the next day and I was thinking it may be better to have a live person to confirm that. That way, you don't have to wait in line and everything is already in the system! I was worried about it before we did it last May, but am SO GLAD we did. I will always do online checkin now.

Well, online check-in is down right now. :mad: It has been all day. Even if you check-in online, you can still confirm the connecting room request when you get there. Make sure you use the work connecting and not adjoining otherwise you might not get the connecting door.

editing: I FINALLY was able to do online check-in!! I had to go around the Disney site's problem. I went through the DVC site, but it still takes you to mydisneyvacation.com :confused3

The section on requests, doesn't have my room area request (but I already confirmed that the resort itself has it). It gives you a check box for adding a refrigerator or a pack n play which is odd because ALL the villas have them regardless.

You know how I finally GOT to online check-in? I clicked on... Not check-in online... I clicked on "add a celebration". It never did give me an option to add a celebration, but it did take me to online check-in. weird!

If anyone else is driving south on I95 on Saturday... I'll be the old silver Chevy minivan with the conservative bumper stickers and I'm planning on using glass markers to make a lime green mickey head on the back window. Last time I wrote all over the windows. Disney or Bust and such. Say Hi!:wave2:

When was your last time? I remember seeing a van on the road that would match your description, right down to the "Disney or Bust." I have tickers turned off so I can't see your previous trips. Ours were in Oct. 2007 and April 2009 and we took the I-81 route those trips, not 95.

Our last trip (where I wrote on the van) was the last week of March/first week of April 2010. We went in August of 10 (but I don't think I wrote on the van) and we went July 09. We usually drive either Dulles tollroad to the beltway to 95 or down 15 to 17? to hit 95 in Fredericksburg, VA.
