The NEW Official November 2010 Countdown & Planning Thread ~ Come join us! (Part 2)

Can someone tell me more info on the drawing class?
My dd loves to draw and is quite good, I'd love to try to do this with her if someone can give me details????

It's The Magic of Disney Animation. It's in DHS. It's a lot of fun! We did it 3 times the last time we were there! An animator shows you how to draw Disney characters, and you get to follow along! Great souveneir, too!! (I don't think I spelled that right...)

Yep, it's the building where sorcerer Mickey Mouse and the Incredibles are. You can go in the back entrance through the gift shop if you don't want to sit through the show at the beginning of the main entrance. The drawing class is held every 30 minutes. There was probably room for about 30 "artists". We drew Ray from Princess and the Frog, Bolt, and Donald Duck in our 3 classes. We would have done it again if time had allowed.

The drawing class sounds like fun. I think my DD8 would love it. We'll try to fit that in.

I made some crafts with my Lime green Mickey head turkey. I printed them on Epson photopaper and one sheet on regular paper. I printed them 4 to a page. These are the things I"ve made so far. The top one is a magnet for the door. Its a paper one cut and fit into a 3 1/2x5 lucite magnet frame. The one with just an eyelet on it will go on a key ring circle and hang on my purse or park bag. One I put on a neck string from a flashing rubber ball, and the other is in one of those vinyl pockets from a "Hello My Name is....".

A few have already told you the where and when, but I wanted to let you know if you can get to the artist first and request their drawing, they will sign it and often personalize it for your daughter. We did the class twice and got the artists' pics both times. :cool1: We got Pooh and the alien toy from Toy Story.

:rotfl2: this trip coming up in 4 days is our 3rd this year!

However, I'm thinking.... :lmao: Actually, I'm thinking Disney Cruise

:scared1:

Craziness ---- I know my DW wouldn't let me do that ... actually I don't think we could afford that many trips in a year .. I think I need a new job.

Actually thinking about getting into PT travel business specializing in Cruise and Disney. Who knows --- it would give me more $, a little anyways, and also provide some discounts.

 Maybe that's how everyone else goes multiple times a year and I don't ...

Thanks so much to both of you! I found this one on the Disney Store's website; it's sold out online but I'm about 95% sure it's the same one that I saw in several stores at WDW.

ETA: Or it could have been this one. In fact, the more I think about it I think THIS was the one I saw in Florida:

I leave the 18th and my friend is pretty sure she bought it in August so we will look carefully. Please pm me so I don't lose this thread!! :rotfl: Thanks!

Hehe, the trip we just had was our second this year and for me the 4th in 13 months :cool1::cool1:

I had told hubby I would not ask again for a while, BUT we have these wonderful seasonal passes and I REALLY want to get our money's worth out of them so......as soon as I got home I started thinking of another good reason to go. :lmao: As it happens, our wedding anniversary is right around 4 months away, so what better reason could there be?! ;):lmao::thumbsup2

Just got an incredible rate at CSR this morning and will be heading back to WDW in 6 days to spend Thanksgiving with Mickey and the gang:woohoo: This was definitally the most "last minute" trip that we have done, DD does not know yet. Now trying to get everything done to prepare for the trip:upsidedow

I'll tell you how I did it. DVC membership. Our first trip during spring break, at the end of March first two days of April. We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa at Saratoga. We brought another family with us. This trip was to celebrate my son and his twin best friends making Eagle Scout. We rented a few extra points because I came up short. Because we split it, it didn't add THAT much extra... and we drove the 900 miles. My van can do almost 600 miles on a tank.

The 2nd trip was in August. This was a bonus because it just so happened that my son ended up choosing Florida Tech (1 hour east of Orlando) in Melbourne for his college. We drove down to take him to college. That trip took 2 weeks because we had to spend time at Orientation at the college, not to mention 2 days to drive down and 2 to drive back. Then after we left son at college, we took our 8 year old to WDW for 8 crazy nights at the Pop Century. We had AP's from the first trip...so no tickets needed.

This third trip is a real bonus because our schools are closed this year for the first time for the whole week of Thanksgiving. We thought we'd take advantage of it and instead of flying son home for a few days for Thanksgiving, we'd go to Disney and he will join us on Tuesday night. We're staying on points at Saratoga again. Staying in a 2 bedroom villa, splitting with my sister, her husband and son. Using those AP's again!

It is a stretch financially, especially since the stock market is tanking every other day and my Disney money goes down with it!:scared1: But this year, it just ended up with 3 trips. Normally, we don't go more than twice max, but usually once. However, I didn't go at all between 1990 and 2000.... so I'm making up for it!:rotfl:

I am however, considering becoming a Disney travel agent.

I'm putting in the last load of laundry. WHO AM I KIDDING? I never have a last load of laundry. :lmao: We leave tomorrow after work. I have to finish packing or start drinking. :drinking1

I put a bottle of Gain in my staging area! There is no last load of laundry when the DVC unit has a washer/dryer in case of a laundry emergency.

My youngest son heard a WDW commercial on TV tonight. He said, "Okay, okay, we're packing now. We're coming, we're coming!"

Remember this, you will never be completly caught up on laundry unless you
are doing laundry naked. I personally don't so I'm never "caught up." :lmao:

I have to do one last load tomorrow of all of today's clothes, plus all our sheets, then the next laundry I will be doing will be poolside at Disney.

We leave tomorrow after work/school too, safe travels to you.

I am 95% packed, not doing anymore tonight, I am worn out! When everyone leaves tomorrow morning I will finish, and I have to run to the store for a few last things and I want to regrout the tub (when else will we be gone for so long to let it dry?)

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rolleyes1 I should take a picture of my living room  I have Disney shirts & underwear & mismatched socks EVERYWHERE!!!! We leave at 10am tomorrow & there is NO end in sight. :laundy: (Not to mention, I'm going to have to take my iron to iron on 8 t-shirt transfers AFTER we get to Disney) :headache: I have never been this unorganized in my life. May God bless you all with healthy & safe trips. I will see my fellow DISboard Turkeys very soon!

EDIT: Just editing to say...I'm STILL packing! But I got all 8 t-shirt transfers printed out to iron on at WDW. And I have several DISboard Turkeys printed out! Say hello if you see us there! Oh...and I will NOT be responsible for anything my MIL says or does. :rotfl:

Off topic a bit, but need some help.

I'm new at this messaging and stuff - this morning I had these NOTIFICATIONS on my CP, someone was asking when I was going and what part of New Orleans I am from, but I couldnt figure out how to reply and now I can't get back to that screen. It's not under my Private Messages.. Anyone have advice? I don't want the person to think I'm ignorig them.

Call me paranoid, but I don't like giving out any info that's TOO personal. I know, I know...I sound like an old bitty. But, I'm just very careful about anything I get through PM's or anything not out for all to see. :upsidedow

Well, we leave today. This is the day we have been looking forward to so much, but a little dreading too. :rolleyes1 This is the start of our last big family vacation with all our kids as next time we go away our oldest will be in college. It's a little bittersweet but I am trying to focus on the sweet, all the amazing memories we have created as a family over the years, and ones to come in the future with our girls and their families someday.

I am just about fully packed, I was going to go get a few last minute things last night at the store but in years past I always made the kids activity books for in the ar. Last trip they hardly touched them so I thought I wouldn't this trip. Didn't DD8 and then DD11 followed her in asking about them last night? So I worked on printing those all night, I will put them together today after I get everything done or, if not, in the car. So, a quick run to the store today and a load of what we were all wearing yesterday plus our sheets and regrout the tub and pack the van and we should be on our way.

I printed out Turkeys so I will put those on all our bags and in our window. There weren't many on here staying at ASSp, I think just one other, but it will be there for her and if there were more Disers who didn't join this thread. I will look to say hello.

All those who haven't left yet, have a magical trip and to everyone, have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
