The NEW Official November 2010 Countdown & Planning Thread ~ Come join us! (Part 2)

We hit the road on 10/31 (arrive at POFQ on 11/2). I've got my "everything but the kitchen sink" bag packed, swimsuit bag packed, essentials in the overnight bag for two nights (need to just add clothes), and for in the backseat of the car, the maps, tourbooks, and TripTik are ready (need to add snacks and drinks). Plus my ongoing need-to-remember list is evergrowing -- those last minute things that I am afraid I will forget. Geesh, it's just two of us going. I can't imagine what I would do with a whole family!

Made a few changes from what is showing on Page 1. Here's the new plan:

pwdebbie ~
11/2 Le Cellier dinner
11/3 'Ohana dinner
11/5 Biergarten lunch
11/7 Fulton's Crab House dinner
11/8 Boma dinner
11/10 Mama Melrose's dinner
11/11 Le Cellier lunch

I'm glad everyone enjoyed the MSEP photos. Does anyone know how old the parade actually is? I was wondering if the patriotic display at the end was left over from the Bicentennial. Back in '75 and '76 everyone had Bicentennial fever and everything was patriotically themed. I remember watching this parade in 1984, but don't remember if I saw it in the 70's or not.

I am really worried now about my missing flash drive. I think I've got Disney pics on it. The pictures on facebook are only a representative sampling of the ones I had which might be on the flash drive! :faint:

We don't usually pack until a couple days before. I have an extensive packing list worked on for decades. I keep it updated on my computer. However, my DH doesn't even START deciding on what clothes to bring until the night before. Usually after the time I had wanted to be asleep! :scared1: This trip, I think I can pack at least when we get the 10 day forecast because I will be bringing clothes I don't need to wear now that its cold. We're bringing our Tassimo, Coffee Butler or whatever brand it is in the rooms is NOT coffee!! :sad2:

20 DAYS! :cheer2:
Has anyone done the pirate training thing? Not when you get a makeover, but like the Jedi training. My kids did Jedi training last time and loved it. I thought I read something about a pirate one. Anyone know?

Well, I think my plans are finally completely set! I got a CRT ressie today for our departure day!! It was the alst elusive ressie I have been stalking for months. My DD was sooo excited when I told her we got the castle! After countless ADR changes and an 11th hour resort change I am not messing with anything else, so here it is:

19th- Checkin at POFQ late and bed
20th- MK with BBB and Tony's dinner
21st -AK and hop to EPCOT for Princess Dinner
22nd- EPCOT Coral Reef lunch and Pirates and Pals
23rd- DHS with Brown Derby fantasmic!
24th- MK with Ohana Dinner
25th- DHS with Sci Fi lunch and hope ot EPCOT for fireworks at La Hacienda
26th- EPCOT with LE Cellier dinner
27th- MK with Plaza Lunch and CRT dinner, head home:sad1:

Well, I am posting from the hospital. My son's asthma flared up so we had an ER trip and are now spending the night. Hope to get out tomorrow we will have to see how it goes.

I added Trails End Buffet for our arrival day. I hope after dinner to go to Chip and Dale's campfire.

We are eating lunch at Coral Reef on the 22nd also. We are doing Mama Melrose for the Fantasmic meal on the 23rd. Happy travels

Also whomever posted about needing matching shirts, if they are sewn shirts, you may want to try Etsy.com

Hey, we're doing Mama Melrose for Fantasmic on the 23rd also! We have a 2:30. We decided to steer clear of the dinner hour because we still have to line up 30-40 minutes prior and we want to have plenty of time. After Fantasmic we might have to drive to Melbourne to pick up my son if he can't find a ride to MCO to catch the ME.

You will love the Coral Reef. We do. In fact, I'm just now working on my ADR's so don't laugh! I wasn't going that route, but my BIL and sister want to. So now I gotta work out my daily plan so I at least know where we'll be each day besides my Fantasmic which I already have and my Chef Mickey for Thanksgiving dinner which I already have.

Sparkly, I hope your son feels better soon. I know that must be scary! My son has asthma too, but he's 18 now and living at college. I always have to ask him to make sure he is mindful of having his meds.

Ok, so about 2 weeks ago (I think) we got our DME package- except we aren't flying...

My concern is that we still haven't gotten our actual Mickey Mail- you know, the one with all the coupons that we only use for the free 5x7? Should I be worried?

Then, to top off my "oh no, must do more planning" mentality, DS9 randomly announced today that he hopes we are eating at the Coral Reef since it is his favorite restaurant at Epcot. Of course that is one that I cancelled Friday since no one had expressed any real interest in going!

Ack! Stick a fork in me, I am DONE! I quit! After I posted the other day, we ended up in the ER for a day and night. DD2 has impacted bowels. No idea why or what is causing it. We were sent home on Monday to try at home treatment. Followed up yesterday at her Ped office and go back tomorrow. Not sure what the next plan of action is since she still isn't pooing much. Her CT came back good. Just alot of poo. Our medical insurance ends in 10 days! So I am really worried that if something goes wrong or she needs to see a specialist, they will turn us away since we don't have insurance.

My vans appraisal is insane! $920 for a cracked bumper and broken fog lamp!!! They have to replace the entire bumper. Its crazy. Our deductible is $500. It was suppose to be $250. I have a investigation into why it was changed. It feels like we are in a monsoon and can't get out!

But onto the good news, we did rebook our trip. We are booked from June 5-12 at AKL Pool View. We didn't want Savannah and DH wants close to the Lobby and Pool. So I get to do ADRs all over again in Dec. Hopefully this trip will work out. Probably not, but we are going to try. DH still doesn't have a job. So we are making plans without knowing what we can plan for. Several jobs in the area have set vacations like the job he was at. So we may be out of luck with this one too. I dunno... But we couldn't just cancel. It was to heartbreaking. We have never been so early in June. We normally go the 3rd/4th week of June. Atleast it shouldn't be as crowded. But I was really looking forward to going during the cooler weather! We did get our other trip refunded, well, all but the $200 that we moved to our new reservation. Right now, I feel we need the money. Once DH is working again, then we will pay it off. ::knocking on wood::

I will be canceling my ADRs soon. I have some pretty awesome places and times. I will post them here when I am going to do it, so you all can have first pickings. I am just not sure when we will actually be home enough to do it. If I have something you want, let me know. I will try to work something out.

elizabeth let me know if i can do anything for yall after surgery. i'm just around the corner. :cutie:

Thanks Jessica, I appreciate it!

I swear, y'all, I am about to go insane. Simultaneously planning DD's birthday party this weekend, a weekend church retreat for DH & I plus weekend @ her uncle's for DD the following weekend, then leaving for WDW the weekend after that is just too much! I've got so many lists going right now that I think I need a list of lists! And the packing! Us for the retreat, DD for her uncle's, early Disney packing, stacks of stuff to take to the park for the party...it never stops! Then add on top of that juggle all my doctor's appointments, submitting a reimbursement for DD's preschool tuition, sending off some mail-order prescriptions, setting up a consult for a new wheelchair, and oh yeah my mom's birthday is tomorrow.......

AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH! :scared1:

So sorry to hear your son is hospitilized, well wishes for a speedy recovery, I have asthma and it is scarey when it flares up, thankfully my DS's did not have it, has to be terrible watching a child struggle for breath.

Goodness Jessica you are truely having a bad time of it. I hope your daughter gets better soon , she must be miserable.

Glad to hear you have rescheduled your trip , I wish I had talked to DH then I could have rescheduled when I cancelled this November too, so now I have to wait for them to refund my money so that I can re-book.

Hang in there, things have got to get better soon.

What about putting your child on the state insurance program for children? Check into it. There is no shame in taking advantage of what the government has available for your children. You are just reaping back some of what you have paid in taxes. That way you won't have the worry of medical care for the kids while your dh is out of work. In PA it is called CHIP (or at least it was, I think they may have changed it). I'm not sure what it is called in the northern most southern state. Might be the same thing. Btw, my mil's family is located in the same state and her father was one who used to set the explosives in the mines fifty years ago.

I am so sorry for you and your family.
Wouldn't this fall under the previous condition clause so that the old insurance would have to cover it until it was resolved? I know pregnancy is covered until birth in some cases even if all other coverage has ended. Just a thought...

This probably would still be covered as a pre-existing condition (I used to work for an ins. co until I was laid off...) Call and ask about 'transition of care' and also, definitely find out about CHIP in your state. We're actually going through the process for my kiddos, cause my DH is changing jobs and has to wait 90 days for his new coverage. It can take 4-6 weeks for CHIP to take effect, so don't wait!! We won't be getting the free coverage, will still pay a monthly premium for them, it's just some temporary coverage. And don't feel bad about using it... that's what it's there for! Good luck!

Wendy -- I would be so very proud of you if you got your suitcases out this weekend!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:rotfl:
