The NEW Official November 2010 Countdown & Planning Thread ~ Come join us! (Part 2)

Heck, it is still hot here ladies!!! And we are in the land of cold weather. :rotfl: Seriously, it was 88 today. I am running the AC at the end of September, which is totally unheard of around here! But get this - it is supposed to be 88 again tomorrow and then 60 on Saturday. :lmao: That's PA for ya! :faint:

Yep, DS is asleep upstairs with his AC on! Too hot today. Looking forward to 60 on Saturday.

We love fall! I was checking out pumpkins & gourds on my drive north of Johnstown today! A little too early to get any right now since ours stay out until the weekend after Thanksgiving. By the way, if you coat them with vaseline, the kids can't steal them off of the porch :lmao::lmao:

Nasty storm yesterday...our power just came back on this afternoon...about 24 hours w/o power. No big deal when you consider the 11 consecutive days this winter my dad was w/o power. People were surprised to see me dressed up at the office today. That's what you get with no power - the only things that didn't need ironed were the nice dresses :rotfl2:

Subscribing to the new thread!

As of yesterday, we are paid off for our first Disney trip! :woohoo: I am so excited, but i'm starting to feel this bit of panic that November seemed so FAR off for so long, and now it's already nearing the end of September and there's a lot to do to get ready!

I'd love to hear what you guys have done to start preparing for your trip... :)

<sigh> Put us down for one more ADR change. Can't believe that I, who barely touched her ressies after making them at the 180 mark, am now sitting here fidgeting with things at only 44 days out! Darn parents! ;)

(Don't get me wrong, I am happy about their coming. I know they won't insist on being with us every waking moment - that would be an issue - plus my dad can help DH lift me on some of the rides that require transfers, and he and my mom can help watch Aubrey so that DH and I can ride the big rides together instead of rider swapping. Esp. my mom, as she isn't keen on the big rides anyway.)

So our full list of changes is

Akershus - 6:30 to 6:40
H&V - 12:30 to 12:35
LTT - 4:25 to 4:00

Not so worried about the three breakfasts; we do want some meals to ourselves and mom & dad aren't early risers anyway. Still holding out hope that we'll figure out some way for them to make it to DD's birthday dinner at Chef Mickey.

Just back after a terrific week at the beach, this hot weather is crazy! We'll probably take one more trip there over Columbus Day weekend and then close the house up for the winter at some point before our WDW trip.

I did what I said I wasn't going to do last week: I canceled our dinner at Rose & Crown and booked La Hacienda de San Angel last night. Now I'm done. :)

Sci Fi, November 14, 6 p.m.
Liberty Tree Tavern, November 15, 5:35 p.m.
Biergarten, November 16, 12:30 p.m.
1900 Park Fare, November 17, 8 a.m.
La Hacienda, November 18, 7:45 p.m.

Ok...the candles/hand soap from B&B is Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin--go get some!! I am reaalllly weird about smells...most stuff flairs up my allergies or I get a terrible migraine....but they do have a new smell at B&B I found a few weeks back that I really like....its very subtle. Its called Moonlight Path...I love it...in fact I got the bubble bath and tried the perfume to see how I would do and it's great!! I may go back and get the spray in the plastic to bring to WDW...hate bringing bottles in my suitcase!! But...just thought I would pass that on in case anyone else is super-sensitive like me!!
Anyone remember the old smell B&B used to carry, it was green and was something like, green clover & aloe? I looooooved it... my absolute favorite EVER--and of course it was discontinued!

Good Taste! Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin is my 2nd favorite scent from BBW ever. Right now, all my wallflowers are filled with it. As are my oil burners. And Moonlight Path is my every night lotion. It is just such a relaxing scent. It is DHs fav too! It is actually several years old. There is a newer version of Moonlight Path, but it has a slightly different name and scent. My favorite is no longer available, even as a Classic or during the semi-annual sales. That was Peach Necture. It was amazing! Coconut Lime Verbena is great too. It is my summer go-to. Have you tried Twilight Woods? That is what DD1 is into right now. It is spicer, but smells oh so good. Oh... and another great one, but its hard on the nose is Creamy Caramel. O.M.G! It only comes in home scents, but it smells like a mixture of caramel and waffles with syrup. YUM!

I have a minor (ok, major) obsession with perfumes, lotions and candles! I probably could use some help for it. But atleast my body, my home or my car never stink! ;)

We just added an extra day!!! So, we'll be at Pop from Oct 30-Nov 8th now. I just realized I never posted our ADR's:

10/31 Chef Mickey breakfast
11/1 Akershus breakfast
11/1 LeCellier dinner!!!
11/2 Crystal Palace dinner
11/3 O'hana breakfast
11/3 Tony's Town Square dinner
11/4 Coral Reef lunch
11/5 Hollywood and Vine lunch
11/6 Tusker House breakfast
11/7 Chef Mickey dinner

With a very active 3 year old, we loaded up on the character meals :)

Ha!!! I bet all your stuff smells good!! DS14 actually picked the caramel apple hand soap for his bthrm...holy cow! Smells EXACTLY like the real thing!!! I didn't know about the Moonlight Path until recently....just started reading on it that it used to be slightly different....I love the new smell...its so 'barely there' that it doesn't overwhelm me. I never really buy body spray or perfume from them,....so what should I get? I sprayed the perfume(in the bottle) and I looooved it. Mike loved it, kids liked it!!! I thought about the spray so if I take it to WDW I don't have to worry about it busting in my luggage...but wasn't sure if one would be better than the other:confused3 Are they basically the same or what? Of course, right now it's buy 2 get the 3rd free, so maybe both? I don't know....dont want to buy one then get home and start getting sick from it!
I love the cherry blossom (Not the Jananese CB, just the plain one) and the Honeysuckle!!! MMMMMmmmmm the whole bthrm smells clean after a bubble bath with that!!!!! Dang... I might have to go back to BBW today!!hee hee

We just paid, too. Oddly, I was looking forward to the deadline tomorrow, just because it's 45 days before vacation!

Woo hoo - DH and I leave 6 weeks from today! :cool1:

I haven't begun to think of packing, which is always difficult for me this time of year. What I'm really stressing about, though, is DS's schedule while we're gone. We're blessed to live near both sets of grandparents, in addition to the fact that my sister actually lives with us. While we're gone, DS will stay with my parents both weekends, and then my mother-in-law will stay at our house Sun-Thursday night to get him on/off the school bus. He now has karate, CCD, and Cub Scouts....I'm thinking of just letting him take a week off from everything, because DMiL has limited mobility...:confused3

Okay, enough cruising the boards for now...off to get a Cub Scout uniform!:thumbsup2

Speaking of hot, supposed to be in triple digits this weekend out here in California! Luckily it is in the 60s at night for some natural air conditioning...

I decided against the Wishes fireworks buffet on our Magic Kingdom day. We're doing the DDP. After a few days on DDP, we are pretty desserted out, and although I love the preferred location for fireworks, I can't guarantee my kids will make it (or me rather) until 9:00 to see them. Is it horrible to say that fireworks just don't excite me all that much anymore? I guess it's due to the fact that we get to see them often enough, that it just doesn't make our priority list any longer. However, if anyone was wondering if there is availability for it, there are openings on Nov. 23rd!

Our new luggage arrived yesterday!! Now I'm really getting excited...

Ya know, the perfumes are the one thing I have never bought from BBW. So, I can't really compare. I really love the body sprays. I like that they are mild enough that you can wear them and know you smell good but you are not worried about chocking everyone out. My fav perfumes are usually pretty strong and while they all smell great, not everyone can be around them. So I tend to wear body sprays if I am going to be out in a crowd. Now in the summer, I guess am about a 50/50 split. But only because summer prefumes smell so light and fresh anymore.

Speaking of hand soaps, that is another thing I love there! Every sink in our house has a foaming hand soap. Every time they go on sale for 6 for $20 (or $15 during the semi sale) I stock up on them. A few years back I had MRSA. And the BBW antibacterial soap are great for preventing MRSA. And not nearly as rough on your hands as Dial Soap. Now, if they would have only make it in a full antibacterial body wash I could have avoided Dial all together!

Have you tried any of Victoria Secret smell goods? I love them too.

According to touringplans  the crowd levels for the time you are at WDW are from 1-3, with the exception of Dec 4th, it is a level 5. It is also says to stay away from MK Dec 3-5th.

Here is what the levels mean:

5 "Reminds me of when I was here in the '80s"
4 "Must be the warm weather keeping everyone back at the pool"
3 "Didn't really need the touring plan, we ended up riding some things
twice with no wait"
2 "Wow, its like we have the park to ourselves"
1 "Is the park even open? Mickey, are you there?"

My mom was there last year, the same week you are going. She said she would never again go to the MK during the taping of the parade. It was insane. I think she said that the Jonas Brothers were there.

I hope this helps :dance3:

Thank you so much for your help.... You have helped greatly with easing my anxiety.... We will avoid MK during the parade taping.....

Have a magical weekend!!!

11/21 - Breakfast @ BOMA
11/21 - Lunch @ Le Cellier (Just got this today)

11/22 - Breakfast @ Tusker House
11/22 - Lunch @ Raglan Road
11/22 - ?? Dinner @ Maya Grill ?? (This may get canceled as I think we're going to go to DHS for EMH)

11/23 - Lunch @ Teppan Edo
11/23 - ?? Dinner @ Teppan Edo ?? (May get canceled so we can go to DHS and see Fantasmic)

11/24 - Breakfast @ Crystal Palace

No. You didn't read wrong there are two meals at Teppan Edo in the same day. That's part of the dilemma.

The Dilemma
Just got the Le Cellier lunch today. It is for my arrival day, which has been purposefully scheduled for DHS as I've been wanting to see Fantasmic. The only other night it's showing that week is the 23rd, hence the safety booking for lunch at Teppan Edo.

Any thoughts folks? I'm going to keep trying to get lunch or dinner for Le Cellier on the 23rd but .... it took this long just to find a booking during our stay. LOL :headache:

Count me in with the November turkeys.

11/2 through 11/12 at POFQ

Third trip and third stay at POFQ. Just the two of us, we're leaving the eight grandchildren home but we'll be thinking about them constantly -- now you know how old we are! POFQ is just right for us. We are driving, actually leaving after church on 10/31, spending one night in the Florence (SC or NC?) area, then on 11/1 we are going to be at Ormond Beach for one night. I can't make another trip to FL without some ocean time. And, the bonus is that there is a shuttle launch on the schedule for that night so we'll have a great spot to view it if it doesn't get postponed.

Booked room-only, bought park tickets through UT, and paying oop for meals. Our two previous trips were handled by a TA so I am hoping I'm doing everything right.

Bittersweet reason we are going. We cared for my mother-in-law here in our home from January until she died last month. She knew how much I love WDW and she kept telling me that we shouldn't wait until April 2012 for our next trip (35th anniversary) but rather go now while we could because we don't know what the future holds. So, we are off to WDW. Turns out to be good timing because our daughter / pet sitter has informed us that in April 2012 she will have a one-year-old and it will be much more difficult to pet sit for us then. :goodvibes

I'm not making ADRs for every day, here's what I do have:
11/2 Le Cellier dinner
11/3 Boma dinner
11/4
11/5 Biergarten lunch
11/6 Cape May Cafe dinner
11/7 Fulton's Crab House dinner
11/8
11/9
11/10 Mama Melrose's dinner
11/11 Le Cellier lunch

And I'm still not 100% sure about all of these. Might switch Fulton's to lunch as we prefer to eat our larger meal earlier in the day and Fulton's looks like it has the potential of being quite a substantial meal.

I hope I run into at least a few of you while we are there. I'll be sporting my lgmhs.

I'm going CRAZY waiting for the end of October!!!!!

I'm arriving on October 30th and leaving Nov. 6th. Staying offsite at Bonnet Creek.
Attending MNSSHP Nov. 1
ADR at Crystal Palace for lunch on Nov. 2
ADR at Hollywood and Vine for the Fantasmic package on Oct 31 that I will probably have to cancel as my friend will be arriving at the airport less than an hour before the ressie time. SIGH.
Big tote bag sitting in the corner of the bedroom that I've been adding "packing stuff" to for a couple weeks now is almost full.
Spending more and more time each day reading the DIS and making planning notes.

IS IT TIME YET????

:welcome: to both of you!!

My thoughts are which of the two Fantasmic Days 11/21 or 11/23 will be busier? It seems 11/23 might be busier being so close to Thanksgiving, I would probally try to go to Fantasmic on my arrival day except you would need PH then, not sure what you have planned :confused3

Congrates on the Le Cellier lunch on 11/21!

Sorry to hear about the passing of your Dmil, her words about not knowing what the future holds were very wise. Our trip in November is also bittersweet for us, as my yougest DS :littleangel: passed away a year ago in July '09.
We are making this trip with our elder DS and his wife cause you just never know what is around the corner for you and your loved ones

Did someone mention heat??? I resisted all day from putting the a/c on but I just gave in as it hot hot hot, hopefully this will be the last time I have to use it this year.

I also noticed you guys talking about scents for the home today, a while back I ran across a thread on here about a company that produces the scents used in the various WDW resorts and thought it might be of interest to someone, I know I bookmarked the place mentioned for buying the scents for when I return home in November.
