I've never ordered from GG before and plan on it this trip. We leave Oct 30th and would want the food delivered on the 31st. How soon should I order? Do I pay for it now? What happens if I paid for it and for some emergency reason the trip gets cancelled? Thanks

I would order soon because there is always a chance your date could get booked especially around a holiday. I do believe you have to pay for it now, I have only used GG one other time so I am not expert on it. I would look on the GG website and look up the cancelltion policy to be sure on the last question.

I feel pretty unprepared compared to most of you. I have had no thoughts of packing yet and still need to get some comfy shoes and break them in. yikes. Did send final payment in on Tuesday. Whew!

Pretty much have final plan for which day to go to parks. Had been planning this whole time on going to MVCMP but have had so many people remarking that it's expensive and they wouldn't necessarily take young kids (mine are DD6 and DS4) on their first trip that now I'm thinking we won't go. Aaarrrgh - so tough! But wow are we excited!!!!

Since many of you are on the weightloss bandwagon, here's a funny story that happened to me this morning. I was doing my WiiFit as I do every morning after the kids get on the bus and I couldn't find my handweights. I am sure the kids grabbed them, but not wanting to waste time today I grabbed 2 large cans of soup. I was doing well for a good half hour or so with them no problem when one of them slipped and went flying. (I guess my fingers gave out before my arms did.) Thankfully it went behind me and hit a pile of towels waiting to be folded instead of in front of me and hitting the TV. Can you imagine me having to explain a can of Chunky soup in the middle of the TV? Hubby might not have minded, maybe he'd finally get a flat screen out of the deal. But that would be fun to put on the curb. Imagine what the neighbors would think? "Someone in that house much have one heck of a temper!!!"

That is hilarious!! I'm so glad the TV survived!!

and why do we all continue to live where we abhore the weather? I can tell you this...if my dh gave me the ok, I would be outta here!!!! gotta get where we can enjoy summer and most of fall, okay, even May is really hot here Plus, add in that darn humidity and it's just a rain forest![/QUOTE

Well I live where fall weather "should" be starting about now and it is still HORRIBLY hot!!!! The past couple of days have been down right nasty! I bought a sweater and pumpkin scented room spray from B & B Works today. I'm hoping that will bring on the cooler weather faster!

Shawna - as your neighbor to the east in Louisiana, I'm right with you on this heat! Last summer DD and I got outside to play at least for a little while pretty much every day, but this year we literally had about six weeks where we didn't go out to play at all, or just for maybe 15 minutes after dinner. She filled out a bit this summer, which in a lot of ways is good b/c she was quite thin for her height, but part of me worries she filled out in a bad way b/c of lack of exercise.

Well, got a call from my mom a little while ago, and they are officially booked for WDW the same week as us. We're going to stay put at CBR, they'll be staying at Pop. Was able to change two of our ADRs to accomodate them (so please change our Akershus time to 6:40pm, and our H&V time to 12:35pm) but the others were a no-go. The breakfasts aren't a big deal since they typically don't rise as early (or quickly) as we do, but I'm really hoping we can work something out for Chef Mickey. I'd hate for them to make all this effort then not get to come to DD's birthday dinner, yet I don't want to change restaurants in order to accomodate them. The only character dinners we could get for 5 on that date at both a proper time and at a resort would be 1900 PF, Cape May Cafe', or Garden Grove, none of which excite me as much as Chef Mickey. Esp. the 1900PF, since we're already dining at the castle that morning. FWIW the online ADR system is offering me a 9:05pm for five people, but there's no way that's going to happen with a 3yo, esp after an 8:05am CRT ressie. Hopefully my mom's TA can work some magic, even if it just means getting them a ressie for 2ppl around the same time as ours.

We've had a miserably hot summer here this year too. With horrible humidity, which really isn't out of the norm for us. And while I love summer, being able to be outside and breath would be nicer. About two weeks ago we had 70's- to high 80's as daytime highs and it was nice, we could play outsde and everything else we wanted to do. However....today is 95 again!!

I'd planned to bake a ham, apples, homemade rolls, baked potato casserole for dinner, that will wait until the temps drop again next week!!

I am however, looking forward to leaving here when it's cold (to me) in Novmeber and coming to WDW where it'll be warm!! I haven't decided what to pack yet though, shorts or capri's, or for the kids!

All of our ADR's have been planned and the trip is paid for and we are very much looking forward to our November 30 trip.... I am a bit worried about the crowds during our visit and hope that all of you great November travelers can help me get an idea of the levels for the time we are there. We are coming in on November 30 and leaving on December 7th.... I know that the holiday parade taping is going on December 3-5 and we will keep that in mind... Also the Pop Warner events begin during the end of our trip but from what I have read on various threads is that this not that big of an influence as they are competing during the day.... How bad can we expect it to be??? We have been in May, July and August so I am hoping that it will not be higher than those times....

I bought 2 candles and hand soap from bath and body a few weeks ago for the same reason!!! Hoping to trick myself into feeling it wasn't summer!! We love the cinn pumpkin...they have a couple of variations of it-but I think that's the name of it...too lazy to go look!! LOL!
Elizabeth..yep..same here..I always put on 7 pounds or so in the summer..it's just tooooo dang hot to do anything...I lose weight inthe winter....crazy, but that's how it is here!!!! I know you understand...we have the same bad weather patterns!! I actually longed for a teeny tropical storm just to get some relief!!!! Nothin' yet! Not a full out killer hurricane,mind you...but some super dark clouds, a magnificent wind and some much needed rain would be a blessing!!

Heck, it is still hot here ladies!!! And we are in the land of cold weather. Seriously, it was 88 today. I am running the AC at the end of September, which is totally unheard of around here! But get this - it is supposed to be 88 again tomorrow and then 60 on Saturday. That's PA for ya!

It was warm here today , last time I was out around 1pm it was 80 but there was a nice breeze, tomorrow is suppose to be hotter near 90 and humid

DH was just complaining about how hot it was today I told him I really do think his internal temperature is off and maybe it is his meds and he said he is gonna be miserable in Florida I can not believe he is already starting about the heat in Florida, we have been going back and forth about the heat in Florida since our first trip there in '89

DH would be happy buried up to his neck in snow, not me. I love the weather in fall but it also makes me sad to see the trees turn and lose their leaves since soon I know the limbs will be bare and the cold and snow are not far behind.

11/2 through 11/12 at POFQ

Third trip and third stay at POFQ. Just the two of us, we're leaving the eight grandchildren home but we'll be thinking about them constantly -- now you know how old we are! POFQ is just right for us. We are driving, actually leaving after church on 10/31, spending one night in the Florence (SC or NC?) area, then on 11/1 we are going to be at Ormond Beach for one night. I can't make another trip to FL without some ocean time. And, the bonus is that there is a shuttle launch on the schedule for that night so we'll have a great spot to view it if it doesn't get postponed.

Booked room-only, bought park tickets through UT, and paying oop for meals. Our two previous trips were handled by a TA so I am hoping I'm doing everything right.

Bittersweet reason we are going. We cared for my mother-in-law here in our home from January until she died last month. She knew how much I love WDW and she kept telling me that we shouldn't wait until April 2012 for our next trip (35th anniversary) but rather go now while we could because we don't know what the future holds. So, we are off to WDW. Turns out to be good timing because our daughter / pet sitter has informed us that in April 2012 she will have a one-year-old and it will be much more difficult to pet sit for us then.

I'm not making ADRs for every day, here's what I do have:
11/2 Le Cellier dinner
11/3 Boma dinner
11/4
11/5 Biergarten lunch
11/6 Cape May Cafe dinner
11/7 Fulton's Crab House dinner
11/8
11/9
11/10 Mama Melrose's dinner
11/11 Le Cellier lunch

And I'm still not 100% sure about all of these. Might switch Fulton's to lunch as we prefer to eat our larger meal earlier in the day and Fulton's looks like it has the potential of being quite a substantial meal.

I hope I run into at least a few of you while we are there. I'll be sporting my lgmhs.

My kiddos are all in school now, it's just me during the day. This was the first time I tried the soup cans. I forgot to ask them tonigt where my weights are, I hope I remember to ask before they go to school again. I am in Rochester, NY. Fall will be here in a couple of days though, thankfully. I LOVE fall, it's my favorite, then winter (love a good NY winter) then spring and in a very distant last place is summer. Only thing I truly love about it is having my kids home with me.

We haven't seen that either. Honestly, the only resorts we've seen are the ones we were staying at except for Grand Floridian (we had Park Fare dinner in 2006)and The Contemporary (we have went to Chef Mickey's for breakfast both of our other trips).

I've always wanted to try Beaches n Cream but we've never done it. Maybe we can take some time to run over to that area too. We spend so much time in the parks (and one evening at DTD for dinner & the Lego store)that there is usually very little leftover for resort hopping.

You should go to B&C, it is so fun! We will be there on Thanksgiving as we always are. We have a Kitchen Sink lunch for Thanksgiving every trip. It's one of my favorite traditions.

Heck, it is still hot here ladies!!! And we are in the land of cold weather. Seriously, it was 88 today. I am running the AC at the end of September, which is totally unheard of around here! But get this - it is supposed to be 88 again tomorrow and then 60 on Saturday. That's PA for ya!

Yep, we are a bit north or east of you but same thing here. I am so ready for fall, only a couple more days!!!

ADR at Crystal Palace for lunch on Nov. 2
ADR at Hollywood and Vine for the Fantasmic package on Oct 31 that I will probably have to cancel as my friend will be arriving at the airport less than an hour before the ressie time. SIGH.
Big tote bag sitting in the corner of the bedroom that I've been adding "packing stuff" to for a couple weeks now is almost full.
Spending more and more time each day reading the DIS and making planning notes.

All of our ADR's have been planned and the trip is paid for and we are very much looking forward to our November 30 trip.... I am a bit worried about the crowds during our visit and hope that all of you great November travelers can help me get an idea of the levels for the time we are there. We are coming in on November 30 and leaving on December 7th.... I know that the holiday parade taping is going on December 3-5 and we will keep that in mind... Also the Pop Warner events begin during the end of our trip but from what I have read on various threads is that this not that big of an influence as they are competing during the day.... How bad can we expect it to be??? We have been in May, July and August so I am hoping that it will not be higher than those times....

According to touringplans the crowd levels for the time you are at WDW are from 1-3, with the exception of Dec 4th, it is a level 5. It is also says to stay away from MK Dec 3-5th.

Here is what the levels mean:

5 "Reminds me of when I was here in the '80s"
4 "Must be the warm weather keeping everyone back at the pool"
3 "Didn't really need the touring plan, we ended up riding some things
twice with no wait"
2 "Wow, its like we have the park to ourselves"
1 "Is the park even open? Mickey, are you there?"

My mom was there last year, the same week you are going. She said she would never again go to the MK during the taping of the parade. It was insane. I think she said that the Jonas Brothers were there.

Grocery delivery - Wegoshop was great! They will go to the store (or stores) you select & pretty much deliver anything. They delivered the fridge from the fridge swap in my signature.

Last time, they went to Walmart & Wholefoods for us. Got exactly what I ordered - including firm, not squishy grapes Small charge for additional stores. Heck, I would use them at home if it existed here

I headed to Bath and Body yesterday for the same wishful thinking. That I could channel Mickey magic and change the weather temperature by changing the smells in my house. No such luck though...they had not recieved their shipment of fall scents. WHA!! Trying to create Disney magic here people. So I came home and started prepping my tshirts to Mickey tye-dye.
