The NEW Official November 2010 Countdown & Planning Thread ~ Come join us! (Part 2)

Hubby and I bought ourselves an early Christmas present...new luggage! It should arrive this week, but it's still warm here in southern California. I don't think I can start packing this early, for a Thanksgiving week trip...can I? :)

I'm in a mode of panic, well at least a little. I forgot I had signed up for Touring Plans, and just today did I look at their crowd calendars for the week I'm in WDW. For the 21st and 22nd, I am going to the parks they say to avoid!! But, I can't change my ADR's this far out, and I am thinking we'll just deal with it.

I am reminding myself this is not the time to go to ride all the rides, but to just enjoy the parks.

Me TOO!!!

I'm thinking I'll do my decorating at home the Sunday before Thanksgiving, or at least dig it all out & work on it Sunday, Monday and Tuesday while dd is ond break from the dance studio and it'll be done when we return home on the 3rd fo December!!

I want to resort hope to WL and GF to see the gingerbread and the resort all decorated. We've been to GF before for a dinner our first year, but we've never seen Wilderness Lodge although we've always wanted to. Any other resorts really spectactular and we shouldn't miss if we have time to hop to them?

LOL! I've been debating if I should decorate (or at least start) before we leave. DH is going to an NFL game that Sunday, so I'll have the whole day to work on it without him thinking I'm nuts! We're planning on doing some resort hopping, too. Didn't really do any the last time we were there in December.. and watching the special on HGTV last year really made us want to see them all!

This is my family's first trip to DW! We are soooooo excited! :yay: I am trying to make this trip the most memorable trip for my 8 yr old son. If anyone can give suggestions on "MUST DO" things please share them with me. You can post a msg or PM me. Thanks to everyone on this site for really helping me with planning this wonderfully exciting trip!

</a>

For my 9 yr old son, must do's are:
Hoop Dee Doo (FW)
Sci Fi (HS)
The Jungle Cruise (MK)
Star Tours (HS)
Soarin/Mission Mars (EP)

ACK!

So okay, tomorrow is my 45 day mark. Yesterday I paid off the trip and cancelled my extra ADRs. All I should have to do is wait until it's time, right?? Apparently not! Got the call from my dad that he has taken the week off, and he and my mom are going to try to go with us that week! Now they had mentioned it earlier in the summer, but said it probably wouldn't happen b/c of finances and such. And it's still not a done deal, but more likely than not.

So now I'm checking ADRs comparable to what I have now, and I can get a couple of them, but of course one that I can't get is the one they would want to be at the most: DD's birthday dinner at Chef Mickey. Gonna be stalking the online reservations like crazy trying to get that one! Also contemplating if we should revisit the idea of adjoining rooms, and let DD sleep in their room, but we're much earlier risers than them so that could be problematic. We'll probably just stick with CBR, though I expect them to probably stay at a value due to cost. (They were just at WDW in May, and have taken a couple other trips this year.)

Oh! For those who mentioned the W.I.S.H. board, I am a member of the Skinny Island thread; feel free to join us!

Hi everyone, I just joined and I have a trip planned for 11/28 - 12/3.

It will be me, DH and DD8, we are staying at the Yacht Club.

Here are our ADR's
11/28 Garden Grill - dinner
11/29 Coral Reef - dinner
11/30 Crystal Palace - breakfast
11/30 Kona Cafe - dinner
12/1 LeCellier - dinner
12/2 Les Chefs - dinner
12/3 Rose & Crown - dinner
12/4 no sit down meals - 2 counterserve
12/5 go home:sad1:

I know we have a lot of dinners in Epcot - we like to plan it that way. We have park hoppers so we pick a park for the morning and usually head back to the Yacht Club after lunch to swim and have a few adult beverages by the pool. Most of our dinners are around 8:00 so that give us plenty of time to relax and then get in a little park time before dinner.

We are thinking of doing the Behind the Seeds tour before dinner on our arrival day and then heading to HS to see the Osborne Lights. On day 3 we have an early ADR at Crystal Palace and since the MK closes early that day we will head to Kona Cafe for dinner and then to the beach at the Poly to see the HolidayWishes fireworks.

So what do you think? I would love any input or advise.
Thanks in advance!
It's great to be here!:woohoo:

We went to the GF and saw the Gingerbread house last year - it's amazing and the tree in the loby is absolutely beautiful! I wish I could have that tree in my home for Christmas! We plan on see the WL for the first time this year too!

Have you seen the Chocloate Carosel at the Beach Club? You should definately head over there. I've heard that the Boardwalk has a good display too, we will try to see that one this year too!:santa:

We have done Behind the Seeds tour twice. Really enjoyed it both times and I would do it again (it's been 4 years) but I toddler so it's a no go. It's a great little tour and it's affordable!

:welcome: to the DIS and to the November thread! Sounds like a very nice trip you have planned. :goodvibes

Good Morning Fellow DIS Turkeys

At around 8:30 last night my cell phone rang and since I was brushing my dog bella at the time I let it go to voice mail. When I finished I looked to see who had called and it said missed call Jet Blue :confused3

The voice mail started off saying they were calling about a time in flight times :scared1:

Long story short they changed our return flight home by 5 mins from 7:45pm to 7:50pm

Did they really need to give me heart failure so late at night for 5 minutes ? :rotfl:

I went and checked the web site this am and seen my leaving flight is now priced $20 cheaper but my return flight has gone up $13 , I guess I will just leave it as is for now $7pp overall does not seem too big a deal and since I have never tried to get a credit , no clue what is involved .

Still no luck on being able to get an earlier time for CP, but I will keep checking maybe I will get lucky yet, I really would like to be able to get one for before the park opens since I switched our last two days around.

OMG I can't believe they called you over a 5 minute change!! AT has changed mine by 15 and not called. If it is over that I get an email.

Keep checking on CP. Good luck! :wizard:

I know crazy huh? I would prefer an email actually.

Hey Sheila! Yep, that is heart attack worthy!! LOL I wouldn't mess with it either...not for 5 min and $7!!! I am waiting on one of our evening meals to have an earlier time open up so I can change it then we are set! I got 6:45, but the kids will be hungry waaaay before then because I have us doing an earlier lunch that day....plus, we wanted to walk off that dinner a little before we went to bed!!!! If I eat supper too late I have crazy nutty dreams and wake up worn out!! It's weird. But anyway,...that's all I want to change...shouldn't be too hard! I just keep forgetting to check on it!
Well.....

:jumping1:HAPPY AUTUMN!!!!!!!:yay::goodvibes

As I am a lover of fall/autumn and all things NOT HOT!! I am happy to announce the ending of summer!! Now, down here, we get some really good outside weather....our summers are usually pretty miserable! The humidity will kill ya!! But, now we can play outside-even if it's warm, you don't feel so wet and sticky! YUCK, it's gross!!!Well..enjoy the season friends!! It also means we are gonna be at WDW soon!!!!!!!:woohoo:

Disney Mommy 3, I am with you. We are not heat and summer fans in this house. The kids always say they wish the long vacation was in spring or fall so we could go an do ore. I can't tell you how many times we went to the park this summer only to last a half hour MAX and wound up at Chuck E Cheese instead. So I am with you, I LOVE all things fall and am happy to see it coming, though today and tomorrow are in the 80s, after that will be lovely fall weather.

Se we are at 55 days. 8 weeks from tomorrow we leave and 8 weeks from today we arrive, 8 weeks from tomorrow will be our first day in the parks, MK for us! Can't wait but still so much to do!!! About a year ago the girls and I decided we wanted to make the Mickey tyedye shirts. Well, the shirts have been sitting here for months and I just haven't done it. There have been times we have wanted to but didn't have the stuff. So I am going to buy the stuff and we are making them this weekend. (I HOPE! :rotfl: ) This weekend is pretty free but the next several are not, so I'd like to give them a try.

Since many of you are on the weightloss bandwagon, here's a funny story that happened to me this morning. I was doing my WiiFit as I do every morning after the kids get on the bus and I couldn't find my handweights. I am sure the kids grabbed them, but not wanting to waste time today I grabbed 2 large cans of soup. I was doing well for a good half hour or so with them no problem when one of them slipped and went flying. (I guess my fingers gave out before my arms did.) Thankfully it went behind me and hit a pile of towels waiting to be folded instead of in front of me and hitting the TV. Can you imagine me having to explain a can of Chunky soup in the middle of the TV? Hubby might not have minded, maybe he'd finally get a flat screen out of the deal. But that would be fun to put on the curb. Imagine what the neighbors would think? :confused3 "Someone in that house much have one heck of a temper!!!" :lmao:

I think the whole can of soup in the TV would have been great - as you mentioned a great reason to get a new TV. WHOO HOO:woohoo:

Anywho... I just wanted to commend you on finding an alternative to your weights a lot of folks wouldn't have.

:thumbsup2

I have never ordered from GG before but have been tweeking my order that I started months ago since this past weekend, I think I am all set now and decided to place it next Fri Oct 1, we don't arrive until Nov 8th but I figure that will be one more thing I can check off my " To Do" list.

I began to get my order together today. I am not taking any chances, and going to see if they will accept it this far out. I'll let you know what I find out! I arrive the 20th, but will be there over Thanksgiving.

I also have been tweeking my order over the last few days trying to make sure I have everything I need. We are ordering mainly breakfast stuff so that we can have quick breakfasts before we head out in the morning. I am also ordering tissues and clorox wipes just in we need them. I guess I will place the order in the next week to make sure we get the date and time we want delivery.

OHHH!! Mickey Mom!! Thats hysterical!!!! I can just see that happening!! I never do cans because I am afraid of that very thing...namely that one of my feet, or children would be the sad target!! Just curious what state you are in...and why do we all continue to live where we abhore the weather? I can tell you this...if my dh gave me the ok, I would be outta here!!!! gotta get where we can enjoy summer and most of fall, okay, even May is really hot here:lmao: Plus, add in that darn humidity and it's just a rain forest!

Just updating our dates.

We just added another day to our BWV trip.

Now it is Nov 13 - 22.

I've never ordered from GG before and plan on it this trip. We leave Oct 30th and would want the food delivered on the 31st. How soon should I order? Do I pay for it now? What happens if I paid for it and for some emergency reason the trip gets cancelled? Thanks :)

We haven't seen that either. Honestly, the only resorts we've seen are the ones we were staying at except for Grand Floridian (we had Park Fare dinner in 2006)and The Contemporary (we have went to Chef Mickey's for breakfast both of our other trips).

I've always wanted to try Beaches n Cream but we've never done it. Maybe we can take some time to run over to that area too. We spend so much time in the parks (and one evening at DTD for dinner & the Lego store)that there is usually very little leftover for resort hopping.
