The NEW Official November 2010 Countdown & Planning Thread ~ Come join us! (Part 2)

DH called from Afghanistan and in the course of the conversation asked of I had been doing any obsessive-compulsive Disney planning as I have been known to do in the past. I said no.

Now, I wonder if I lied.

I HAVEN'T made any changes to our plans at all, but I HAVE spent all of extra time (and some of my not-so extra time) on the DISboards reading and posting and getting ideas. So, my question to you my fellow November travelers, is did I lie? Do the DISboards count as obsessive-compulsive?
I don't think so!! Consider us company (that you don't have to clean up after) while your hubby is away. Thank you both for your service!!

I have a Kindle and love it. It's not as flashy or colorful as an Ipad, but I have enough battery life to last me at least two weeks without recharging. I guess I can read it in the sun, but to be honest, I have not really tried this. I love the look of the Kindle being sold at Target, and it's a lot cheaper than when I bought mine.

Kindles are great, as they have access to so many titles at Amazon. I like being able to read something without broadcasting the book cover to everyone around me, as well. That way, I won't get embarrased while reading one of my silly vampire romance novels! (guilty pleasure) :rotfl:

So after you buy the Kindle, do you then have to buy the titles from Amazon? How much do they cost?

Just curious, DS11 is becoming such a reader that I was thinking about a Kindle for him. . .And then I could use it as well!

I am in the middle of the Kingdom Keepers Disney After Dark (the first one) right now. I am trying to read it to DS8 too, but it's kind of confusing at times. He's really enjoying it though! Has anyone else read this series?

I just looked at the crowd calendar... can't believe it is only 1-4 the whole week we are there... that is going to be amazing!!!!!

I love my iphone.... this past week I download the Mouse Memo app.... love it... all my trip information is in there... and I also have the WDW lines app... I run it by my daughter who is working in Animal Kingdom everyone in a while to see how close it is... works pretty well...

So Snowbirds... do any of you have one of those electronic reading devices.. like a nook or Kindle... I am thinking of buying one and need to get the low down on how they really work....

I too am lovin' my #s...1 & 2s mostly a few 3s (I am suspecting its for the MSEP)and a 5 on the Sunday we leave...which I expected since so many will be coming in for Thanks. I have a Blackberry,so does anyone know which apps for Disney I could get? I just got it and have no idea how to even find what I want!!!! Also, I wondered about the Nook from B&N.... I am a book fanatic--would be easier than buying all those books!!!!! But, I love to have a book in my hand! Of course, dh would love that I don't have lamps on all night while he's sleeping!

So no, you didn't lie---now make sure that house is spotless and laundry's done and food in the fridge when he gets home!!! LOL

Yay for 6 weeks!!!! And we were looking at the Kingdom keepers series last night...ds11 was needing a book, and I almost had him talked into it, but he said he just wasn't sure if he would like it--I think I am going to get it from the library next week if they have it....I want to read it...then I can tell him if he should or not--

My Ds bought his wife one for her Birthday, she loves it, and super excited when she found out she can get some of her textbooks on it for school, she went back to school last year for BA in nursing.
My Ds is cheap so he bought the one they sell at BJ's but it is compatable with either the Kindle or Nook not sure which

I like the idea of buying it for your Ds Shelly since he loves to read anything to enforce the habit into his teens :thumbsup2

Oh did I mention only 44 Days from today I will be in WDW
!

8 weeks :goodvibes:woohoo: boy do i need this vacation!!! I'v had a rough past couple of days..im ready for some down time

42 days, 16 hours, 19 minutes. And really a day shorter that that, since we're leaving the day before and spending the night at my cousin's house in northwest Florida.

WOO-HOO!!! :banana::yay::banana::yay::banana::yay::banana:

I knew I was fogetting something in all my planning- cleaning the house- LOL!! Of course, if the house WAS spotless and ALL the laundry was done, he wonder what happened to his wife while he was gone...

My DD11 just finished the second Kingdom Keepers book today. I have to go get her the 3rd tomorrow. We are planning on getting them all on CD from the library for the drive down.

I have not read them but she loved the first 2.

I love Anita Blake books!!!;)

I also have been tweeking my order over the last few days trying to make sure I have everything I need. We are ordering mainly breakfast stuff so that we can have quick breakfasts before we head out in the morning. I am also ordering tissues and clorox wipes just in we need them. I guess I will place the order in the next week to make sure we get the date and time we want delivery.

I started my order a couple of weeks ago and went in today to make some final changes and submit it. It was very strange, it was not my order. It was saved under my profile, but did not have any of the items I had originally selected. There was just a ton of meat. I know they recently updated their website, but have any of you had any problems with your saved orders?

I went in the yesterday to make a couple of changes and I noticed the new site changes and some of the items I had deleted and others that I had added the day before they did the new site were still there or not there at all so I deleted and re-added and saved again. Have not been back there today. I figured it must have lost a day when they converted since I made changes on the 20th the day before they were putting up the new site.
I did not have any items I never ordered on mine like you found the meat. Strange.

I have read all three Kingdom Keepers. Love them

Nope, no lies :goodvibes As someone else said, just trying to create the best possible R & R experience for your family :wizard: I hope you & your family have a wonderful time at WDW.

Its midnight and I was playing with my new phone too. 4g...me love.:lovestruc

Oh it is so addicting! I lay in bed at night when I should be sleep reading trip report after trip report!!!

Oh, this is bad...so bad. I went from a phone that did nothing but make calls to this :scared1: I've barely had the phone 24 hours & I've already put our ADRs & fun stuff (pirate league, fireworks cruise, etc...) into the calendar. Emailed the detailed plans to the phone. Posted to this thread from the phone. Tried to find Ride Hopper lite that DH has on his Droid, but couldn't find it. bad, bad, bad ;)

OK, with all the talk of doing this on your phones, I had to try. It works! I have been trying to keep up with this by reading the e-mail notices on my phone. I didn't think about using the site. So I'm typing this from my phone! Hope it works! Oh the things you can learn on the Disboards.
