We are DVC members and this our first trip "home" to BLT!!:goodvibes
We were given as a gift a stay at BWV for just DH and I in Feb 2009 in a 1 bedroom BW view on DSisIL's points(she:lovestruc is so nice) and we became members that trip, we were hooked. We took the kids and stayed on points our last trip in Jan 2010, but that was at BWV for a Grand Gathering of 17 people:grouphug:. There were 6 groups all staying on points from 3 DVC members. I was not the planner but it was great to get all 6 rooms (from studios to 1 and 2 bedrooms) all on points! We can't wait to do it again with more family! Love getting the kitchen and washer & dryer with the 1 and 2 bedrooms.
This Nov we are taking the cruise on the Wonder that we got for joining, then heading to WDW and BLT. We can't wait!!!!:yay:

Hi tree320 and fellow DVC member! :wave2: Looks like we'll be at BLT at the same time, we arrive one day before you. Can't wait to stay at your "home" resort. I see you're from IL also, it is a small world.

Good to know thanks. I had made the dinner reservation before I knew about the concert. My son Justin picked the Garden Grill (I let everyone pick at least one restaurant this time) and I am trying to keep it to one TS per day, plus not have days where we have two breakfasts days right in a row, for now at least, I think I will keep it as is.

You know it is pretty neat thinking we will have chatted all this time by the time we all go to Disney and could literally be right next to each other in line or something and not even realize it. I have never talked to everyone on the boards before going and it is neat to think we can cross paths at some point. (Of course that is as long as none of you are crazy lunatic killers! :scared1: None of you are right? You would tell us right? :rotfl2:)

I am not a crazy lunatic killer but I can not vouch for my traveling companions :rotfl2:

This is the first year I ever knew of the DIS and it is kinda kewl now that you mention it, wondering who might be a DISer in line with you while there

I decided to change from dinner to lunch also since when I checked the times and menus, I had ressies that were for 4:05 not long into the dinner hour, so by changeing them back an hour it poses roughly a savings of $40 per meal for the 4 of us, thats a total of $80 for the two days which should just about cover the cost of our snacks at F&W since we are paying oop.

I had my travel agent do the booking on the 25th, and I got everything I wanted when I wanted it, except for Le Cellier. I don't understand how you can call first thing in the morning and not get a table in a 3 hour time frame. Anyway, we did get Le Cellier on Saturday instead of Weds., so now we'll have to give up Mickey's Backyard Bar-B-Que. Do you think there's any chance of a cancellation?

Here's what we ended up with:
11/21 dinner at Mama Melrose
11/22 b-fast with Chef Mickey and dinner at Raglan Road
11/23 b-fast at Tusker house and dinner at 1900 Park Fare
11/24 b-fast at Akershus and dinner at Hoop de Doo
11/25 dinner at Biergarten
11/26 dinner at Crystal Palace
11/27 dinner at Le Cellier

How'd we do?

Hi Evette!!:wave2:
It's a small world after all, it's a small, small world!:rotfl: OK, now it is stuck in my head!

Hehe, glad to know you are not a killer.

I know! I will be looking and wondering for sure who is a DISer, this time.

We are on the dining plan for the first time this trip, so dinner or lunch really is not a concern for us this time. At this point I can't decide if it would be easier to switch our lunch in Epcot on the 8th to lunch on the 10th and switch the 10th's dinner to the 8th. Maybe I will play around with it and see what I can do, so that our schedule can open up a bit that night. Either way I am going to see Rick Springfield, hehe.

Edited to add: I've finally earned my ears!! Yipee! :)

Looks like you have a good selection!

Have fun Shelly...is today his last day? Most of our schools down here are finished by today...I know some up north go a week or two longer...we will be waiting to hear all about your day!!!
Okay girls....hope everybody has a fun and safe long weekend!!!!!

Nope we still have 2 more weeks. We didn't start until after Labor Day so we go into June this year.

It was a HOT one at field day. :faint: You just can't win. Last year it was cold and pouring down rain. All day. Today there was hardly any cloud cover and it is in the upper 80's.

Everyone had fun though! :yay:

Momof2Disneyboys, thanks for posting over the updates from allears. We have no TS meals on our full Epcot day (Wed), so I'm thinking that sounds like a great candidate for our big meal that day! Otherwise I'm planning on lots of snacking around F&W!

You're welcome!

Ok this post will truly show I am a child of the 80's but I just discovered the other day that

Rick Springfield will be doing 30 minute concerts at Epcot while we are there. Rick Springfield was one of my big crushes as a young teenager and his concert in my home town was one of the first I ever saw, (and I am not allowed to ever forget the date of the concert because my nephew was born that night :lmao:) we will definitely being taking the time to stop and have a listen!! ;) (Thank you Lord for a hubby that tolerates lil things like this without so much as a grunt!! :lovestruc)

So for those who are going while the concerts are going, is there anyone you will take the time to slow down and see?

I am planning on seeing Rick Springfield too!! :cool1: That's the only one that interests me and he happens to be there during my week!

I couldn't tell you how many times I have been in each month but here is when I have been.

Jan - only till the 2nd tho
Feb - Several Valentines Day trips for my mom from my dad
March - Only if Easter fell in March
April - Every Spring Break until 94
May - A couple times for my moms bday
June - Never as a kid, almost annually since 97
July - Every Year up till 97
Aug - First time ever last year, have no intentions of every doing it again!
Sept - Couple times around Labor Day
Oct - Never
Nov - First time ever this year
Dec - ALOT! But not since 2004/05 Christmas/New Years. DH has PTSD and can't handle being packed in like sardines.

I did Field Day last week with the kids. It was in the 90s and high humidity, I thought I was going to melt. I started throwing cups of water on the kids. They were melting from all the activities they were doing.

Wow that's quite an impressive list! :thumbsup2

Yes, I thought I was going to expire at field day too!!

Woohoo.. :woohoo: I am at 180 days and finished up our ressies! Even booked the kids to the Pirate League for their make-overs..They did the BBB last time (DS got the "cool dude" package). I asked DD if she wanted to do the pirate one and she did and I know DS wanted to.

this time we are trying:
Tusker house (with the Nemo show seating)
Akershus
Tony's Town square
T-Rex
Liberty Tree Tavern(for Thanksgiving dinner)
Shutters and
Sci-fi dine in theater

and going back to
Le Cellier and Chef Mickey's :cool1:

I still have to call for the tickets for MVMCP

Looks good! :thumbsup2

I somehow always get hungry whenever someone posts their ADR list. :confused3:rotfl:

Joining the group-

We are going November 16-November 24/25 (waiting on Southwest to make final decision) at Port Orleans-Riverside. We are doing the Deluxe Dining and I have made a ton of reservations. Two of our kids have food allergies and I trust the TS much more than the CS, just hope it isn't going to take too much out of our park time. DH and I went with our oldest dd when she was 4 and we are now going with our DD-7, DD-4, and DS will be 11 months- heaven help me now. My sister and her two children are going with us also. I am the family planner so it's all on me. I am so thankful for threads like this to help.

:welcome: POR is great, sounds like you are going to have a very fun trip!

Im joining the group too!

We are going November 14-21 POR and then heading over to AKLV 21st-25th!
Super excited!
We are doing the Quick service plan at POR for the first time (usually do the regular one)
I have made some dining reservation mostly for the 21-25 when we probably wont be on a dining plan.
Are the resturants crazy busy that week due to thanksgiving?
(Ours is in October and I didnt realize till after we booked we are leaving US thanksgiving day)

WELCOME!! :yay:

I don't know how busy Thanksgiving week is. . . maybe someone else can help you out there. . .

Have a good weekend everyone!! We are headed to the Poconos to go camping...not exactly thrilled about this..but I am sure we will have fun;)

Have a good weekend Andrea!! :goodvibes

You can go see Rick Springfield with me ;)

Can I come too??? :flower3:

Last day of school today! I'm pretty sure I'm happy about that :)
QOTD:
We have been/are going, in succession,
Aug
Sep
Oct
Nov

I guess that means our next trip (after this Nov one) needs to be Dec!

Have a wonderful holiday weekend!

Wow that's quite an impressive list! :thumbsup2

Yes, I thought I was going to expire at field day too!!

Its a family addiction, what can I say? LOL

Best part, my mom got remarried (6 months after I got married) to a man who loves Disney too. My step sister and her family go as often as we do! Sometimes more. They live in GA, so it is a bit easier for them! Now, my youngest step brother isn't much of a Disney fan. On the trip my mom paid for, they stayed in the room about 80% of the time. They only came out for food. They are not allowed to come back with us anymore! lol

I am planning on seeing Rick Springfield too!! :cool1: That's the only one that interests me and he happens to be there during my week!

Can I come too??? :flower3:

LOl, He is the only one I care to see as well. And I was quite happy to see he was there during our week!

Of course you can come too!! :cool1: I am definitely one of those "the more the merrier" people! :rotfl:

You can go see Rick Springfield with me ;)

Sounds like a plan! We could turn Rick on the 10th into a Dismeet!

You know it is pretty neat thinking we will have chatted all this time by the time we all go to Disney and could literally be right next to each other in line or something and not even realize it. I'm not, but if you see a 6'2'', 300 pound guy and a fiesty just-turned 3yo girl ready to kill their wheelchair-using wife/mom for being a lunatic planner, that'll be us!

Oh this conversation just sparked a QOTD :

What months have you visited WDW and what is your favorite so far?

Hmmm . . . This question makes my brain hurt :headache: : I am trying to remember when we took our first trip to Disney. I remember my dad sent us champagne, so it might have been for our first anniversary, which would have been November. I think we've been a few times in November, once in January and twice in May. May was too hot and crowded, and January was too cold and/or unpredictable, but November is always JUST RIGHT!

Sounds like a plan! We could turn Rick on the 10th into a Dismeet!

A Dismeet at the Rick Springfield concert sounds like fun to me. :thumbsup2 (We could all visit while we wait for the show.)

:rotfl2: at your hubby and daughter. (My hubby is 6'2" also, but only about 235 lbs.) I'll be the one with the four kids and a look that says "Why did we do this again?" by that point :rotfl: J/K! I tease the kids that I am going to leave them home, but reality is seeing their faces and experiencing all of it with them, is one of the biggest reasons I love to go. (Well that and I am an addict ;))

Now come me and hubby's 15th wedding anni this coming March, they can forget it! We had our honeymoon (offsite) at Disney World and I want to go back for our 15th and do it all the way. (Deluxe everything! :woohoo:)

I want to see Rick Springfield, too!!! :cheer2:

Okay - I had several pages to catch up on, but now I'm all caught up! I took today off and ran a ton of errands - all the stuff I either can't do during the workweek or don't want to do on the weekends (Town Hall, Lowe's, bank, etc.). It was a beautiful day here in southern MA, so I really enjoyed the day. Looking forward to planting the rest of my vegetable garden and a few more flower pots this weekend.

My DH is in Croatia with my DD (12) for two weeks, visiting his family, so it's me and my DS (10) and the dog until the 7th. First week down and I'm happy to say it was uneventful. Quiet even. :rolleyes1 Is it bad that I'm okay with that??

We have school here until June 23rd  so my DS's fourth-grade field day isn't until the 11th, but I'm looking forward to that. I had fun at my DD's, but it was HOT.

Have a wonderful long weekend everyone! Be safe! As my dad always says, "Watch out for the coneheads!"

I feel that things get crazy busy on the Weds. before Thanksgiving. By Friday after Thanksgiving, I am ready to leave! I love having my own personal space. Just call me crazy.

Sounds like a plan! We could turn Rick on the 10th into a Dismeet!

We'll be there on the 10th as well! We should get Rick to announce us from the stage :lmao:

Although, I am seriously thinking of switching our Epcot day. Not into the crowds that F&W might bring. I don't mean the people, but the mass of PEOPLE. Any advice? I thought a Wednesday might not be too busy. We've always missed F&W before. I don't think it ran as late?? or we've just accidently missed it.

Thanks!
Michelle
