Vegan/Vegetarian Restaurant/Dining Help Thread

Yes, many places have a symbol for vegan and a symbol for vegetarian. I wish Disney would do this as well. There are so many items with cheese that vegetarians can eat but are not marked so it's difficult especially to mobile order if you're not familiar with the ingredients.
Agreed! The worst is all the dishes that call an ingredient “cheese” (air quotes meaning plant-based?) which if you’re non-vegan veggie you might not want, and if you’re vegan either your brain automatically rules it out, or you don’t have faith that they’ll actually make it with the vegan and not the similar-looking dairy product!

I have always found it to be pretty clear. By them using “quotes” or by stating plant based.

I can almost tolerate the plant-based "cheese" but what gets me as a lacto-ovo vegetarian is at breakfast the plant-based "egg"! I will usually tell a server I want the REAL egg and cheese (generally will order whatever dish has the meat and tell them NO meat). But on the whole, WDW is SO much better with vegetarian/vegan diets than they were 25 years ago. Back then all they had were horrible bean burgers. Now we love eating in the parks.

Oh absolutely! My go-to at Whispering Canyon is the brisket omelette with no brisket. I don’t need/want the vegan “frittata”:

Glad they offer it for vegans, don’t get me wrong, but “sausage” on top of the egg substitute is just not for me.
