Woah, that was a lot of reading to catch up only a couple of days!

First off, welcome to all of our new trippers, and congrats to all who have scored good ADRs! I swear, Tuesday feels like forever ago that I made mine.

Second off, our QOD's. I found out about the DIS I think just from searching around online, though I knew from my sister AKA Disney planning guru that there were some great boards out there. (I think she's on a different one though.) And as far as souvenirs, DD will get her first Mickey ears (just gotta decide what kind: standard? pink? birthday? Christmas?) and I want to stock her up with Potato Head pieces from DTD. DH will for sure get at least one pin at the MKFD. For me, who knows? Something from the Christmas store I'm sure, anything else just depends on what strikes my fancy.

ETA: I'm sure DD will also have to have something Eeyore related. For her first Christmas (about 7wks old) DH got her an Eeyore lovie blanket. For those not familiar, it's an Eeyore head attached to a green blanket that's probably about a foot square. This was one of several items we kept in her crib as she got older as possible lovies, and it is the one she has latched on to. She has since gotten a couple other small plush Eeyores, so she now has "Green Eeyore" her lovie, "Pajamas Eeyore" which is self-explanatory, and "White Eeyore" which was a limited time offering at Christmas from the Disney Store a couple years back. Having typed all this, I'm now starting to wonder how it happened that we don't have a character dining with the Pooh characters. Lack of options I suppose. Pooh & friends should really be at more places that just Crystal Palace. Perhaps though I should throw in a breakfast ADR for our last morning. I'm not sure if we'll park that day or not, but given that it was only about an extra three bucks to go from a six day to seven day ticket, it would be worth it just to go to CP then hit DTD before the ride home. Hmmm.......

As for the missing school for Disney, I think I'm doing the ultimate bad idea in that regard. If all my ducks line up, I'll be going back to nursing school in the fall, so I'll be missing a whole week of college including clinicals that will somehow need to be made up. I'm sure my instructors will not be happy about it, but I can't exactly reschedule my daughter's birthday, and I refuse to go three months earlier due to the heat & crowds, or a month later b/c I'd have to lie to get her in free (and again, the crowds). So it'll stink, and I'll probably spend most of the drive there and back studying - oh who am I kidding, I'll be pretending to study while watching Disney movies - but it'll be worth it.

On a happier note, I ordered our MVMCP tickets today! We're going the second night, Nov 11. It's also a morning EMH day, so we have the potential to be there from 8am to midnight, if I can keep the 3yo going that long. We've got breakfast the next morning at AK (9:30a) so we'll see how late we really hang out. I def. want to catch the parade though. The way I've got us scheduled we're missing both Fantasmic and Spectromagic, so hopefully the Electric Water Parade and MVMCP parades will make up for it.

We also got our big FSA reimbursement check from last year in today. (I had put off filing the paperwork, and did so on literally the last day, so it took awhile to process.) We're putting half of it to paying off the Disney trip, which will also be about half of what we owe the mouse. Woo-hoo! Hopefully SOME sort of deal will eventually come out for November, and the remaining balance will be a bit smaller.

Could you please add me to the list. We are going November 9 thru 16. We are staying at the POP.

Thanks

:welcome: to all the new people over the last few days!!! WOW!!! We are going to be the only ones at WDW...right?:rotfl:
I just checked airfare again..still pretty high...it's still at $306 per person, RT...so i will wait till closer to snag it...probably in July or Aug...that's when our time frame is usually very good. We were fried...and poor Mike had to be at work the next day!! It was nice to walk around the MK and eat before we left...but I am thinking make the next flight home not soooo late...cuz you never know!!!!

I was just saying to DH how glad I am that we bought our airline tix the day they came out, our flights have now gone up by $120.
We are flying home on a late flight 7:45 pm to have more time in Disney our last day, I hope we don't have delays, but I know it is possible as long as we can be home before Sunday at noon when I have to pick up the dog, I will be good to go.
We usually fly home around noon time but that leaves no time for much the last day and I really liked when we went to DL taking the red-eye home that we had an extra day there...so we will see how it all works out.
No one has to be back to work until Monday(Dil)so they can't complain too much to me :rotfl2:

Okay, the guilt of not taking my 3yo Eeyore obsessed daughter to CP was consuming me! We now have a 9:20a ressie the last morning before we drive home. So we'll breakfast, hit a couple of rides "one more time", shop & lunch at DTD, and hope to be on the road by 2pm. Now to decide if it's cheaper to pay for 2 individual meals OOP, or just CRT.

Hi! I just found the new thread. We will be at BLT from 11/13-11/20. It will be me, DH, DS12 and DS6(soon to be 7). We went the same time last year and it was a great week! Looking forward to counting down with you!
Angie

Ok and now for a QOTD........Is there one or more special souveinirs you plan on buying this vacation?

My kids - okay, mostly me - love finding the penny and quarter presses, so those are always on my souvenir list. Also, one of my favorite pair of pajamas was purchased at DTD, so I think I'll look for another set. My DH always looks for shot glasses on every vacation we take, so I think that rounds out the list. Good question!

Was anyone else able to get Give a Day tickets? We actually registered for ours on the last day through an activity at my sons school. We get AP's, so I was soo excited to hear we can use them to get fast passes- my DH will use his for a day at Epcot and I'll use mine for a day at MK (you get up to 5 passes with each). My two DS's want to use theirs to get a special hat figurine with pins! It will be nice to have them Thanksgiving week, in case the crowds are crazy!

We were signed up for an activity for June, but couldn't officially register until April. By then the whole Give a Day thing was shut down because they had hit their limit. Very disappointing. :sad2:

so funny!! I'll have to talk to my husband about coming in early..but we are taking the train Saturday to arrive sunday. I haven't been this week in November so I am really excited to see MVMCP and Osbourne lights. I haven't been on the boards as much but now am starting too because our trip is only 6 months away..

We did a crazy thing in March where we went to disney for a night...Jet Blue had 10$ airfaires so we seized the day and went From a Tuesday morning to a Wednesday evening..it was really amazing!! and so not like me..I am such a planner.

SPILL!!! Tell us what you did, how it went!! Just you and hubby or did the girls go too?

I was wondering......We will be there the 13th-19th. I see that the studios closes at 7pm all week except for EMH on the 15th. Do you think the Osborne Lights will be on for that week? 7 o'clock seems like a pretty early closing to have the lights on?

Where are you all going to eat on Thanksgiving Day? I need to make ressies next Sat. I'm beginning to stress.

Lori

We're traveling with my parents (70s & 80s). I'm thinking about making this a resort day. This is our last day and I'm sure they will be exhausted. The guys are doing the Train Tour at the MK in the morning. I was considering 1900 Park Fare or GF Cafe. We will have already eaten at Citricos and Narcossee's.

My DS16 and DH wants our meal to be a lunchtime but 1900 PF doesn't open until dinner.

Since the guys will already be at the MK, we could do lunch at LTT and then get out of the MK as quickly as possible.

I'm frustrated because I can't find many menus from last year.
