DznyLvr - that picture is so cute! We never had luck with Alex and professional pics either.

Denise, Villain-lover, & Ash - congratulations on all the new walkers! :cool1:

DMickey - did you say you are going to be on Main St in 2 weeks? Are we going to be there at the same time? Have we discussed this before and I am a total spacehead? Alex needs his haircut all the time too, and last time he was at the kid haircut place I asked the stylist how often boys get their hair cut, and she said some go as often as every 3 weeks! :scared1:

Ash - great b-day pics - that cake is so cool!

Long story short.....I'm pregnant again

OMG - I can't believe you are going to have 3 under 3! Congrats and the girls are adorable. Do you plan to find out the sex of #3?

Jen - you're lucky Christopher ate so well on Thanksgiving, Alex was too excited to even sit down. I don't think he ate more than 2 bites!

Bethany - glad to see you back! Too funny that Owen is trying to chew on your knee! :rotfl:

****************
We had a nice long weekend, even if DH was only off Wed & Thurs. I actually went out and did a little shopping on Friday at a mall, but not until 8:30, and it wasn't too bad. I got done a lot of things I had been trying to for a while, so that made me happy. Then I also got a cold, which sucked but is almost gone already except for a stuffy nose.

We also had our first mini-parties at our house this weekend, and they went well. I really liked having my cousin bring his 3 daughters over (10 & 14) b/c they kept Alex entertained all night and I was able to enjoy myself a little! :thumbsup2

How was everyone's holiday weekend?

Hello All!

I need to catch up. We have been busy here.

My mom bought us AP's for Christmas!!! We went to Epcot the other day. Spencer liked it; he really liked Living Seas. SE scared him at the beginning, because it was so dark, but he loved the new touch screens. I think he favortie things was just watching all the people.

For Thanksgiving, we went to Cape May. It was SO GOOD! Dh and I ate there two years ago and it was better this time. We had the "family Thanksgiving" yesterday.

Here are a couple of pictures of Spencer and the Christmas decorations at WDW:

Pollito - We are going to be there from Dec. 8 to the 11. Just three days. Quick visit.
Ash - I looked at the b-day pics again, it looks like the birthday hat is hoovering over her head!!
Amber - Love the picture!! I can't wait!!

I caved and got Alexander's haircut today at our local kids salon. A different girl was there and I told her I wanted a classic boys cut, not too short. His hair is practically buzzed. It's so short that on the top/sides of his head it sticks out. I am kind pissed since I need to take his Christmas pictures this week, oh well. He certainly looks better than he did with longer hair. I wait too long in between cuts. His last one was September and the one before that was June!!!

Has anyone attempted potty training with their 18 month-2 year olds yet? Abby had her 18 month Dr appt yesterday and the Dr suggested I start working on it. Lately, when Abby poops she grabs her diaper so I guess that is a sign that she might be ready. I am soooo not ready for this though! Might sound lazy, but we were planning to hold off until around her 2nd birthday. Anyway, I thought I would give it a try after the new year and was looking for any tips that may work. The Dr suggested getting a potty and a book about using the potty and go from there......

We will be there from Dec 10-17, but not until late on the 10th, so it looks like we will probably miss you. Do you know which park you will be at on the 11th?

As for the haircut, you could take him back today and say the haircut wasn't what you wanted and they should fix it for free. Either way, post a pic, b/c it sounds cute!

We haven't tried at all yet, Alex is almost 22 months. He just doesn't seem ready yet but all kids are different. We have a book and he knows what the potty is for, but doesn't seem to have any desire to use it yet. We have tried putting him on it w/o a diaper, but he just sits there for a few seconds then jumps into the bathtub.

Let us know how it goes and if you learn any trick! :thumbsup2

Oy. We are working on it. I got V a potty when she was around 16 months old, with no intention of rushing anything- just to let her get used to it.

But, she'll sit on it (and "put on" makeup :lmao: ) but won't actually use the potty.

I'm just in no hurry either. I am going to buy that book about the potty ("Once Upon A Potty"- they have girl and buy versions- cute books), and for Christmas we bought her the Elmo Potty DVD...

I think I might buy her a different potty chair too. She isn't too keen on the one we got (but I don't want one that becomes a "toy" either :scared: ).

:lmao: Vaylie does that too!

She'll sit on the potty and she gets a sticker for "trying." But then she gets in the tub and pees, and I'm like, "Noooooo, Vaylie, you're supposed to pee-pee in the potty!" She looks at me and shakes her head and says, "No." :rolleyes:

I am so not into this yet...haha. I don't baby Abby but 18 months seems so young for potty training. I think we will do what you did....introduce the concept and take our time. She doesn't even speak sentences yet so I have no idea how I would really train her. I am going to get the book you suggested and the DVD....she LOVES Elmo! I guess I feel like if we wait until she's older it won't take as long because she'll have a better understanding of the whole idea....can't hurt to work on it though.....

That's kind of what I'm doing. I don't want to force it on her, and make her freak out. But, I figure if I catch her sitting on the potty, and let her see me sitting on the potty, maybe it won't be such a foreign concept once she's really ready. (I don't think V is totally ready yet- she really could just care less). But she has started telling me when she poops. So, that's... good. I guess. :laughing:

I have not really thought much about potty training. I know boys can be a lot slower than girls. He shows signs that he understands like holding his diaper when he has a dirty one, he knows how to 'push' #2 (TMI) and will pretend or try when I change his diaper. He also will look at his peepee in the bath tub then pee a little, stop, look up and laugh and repeat a few times so he has some idea and control. He is NO WHERE near close to be dry after a nap or bedtime though.

I think I'll get him that book and video closer to his two year birthday and a potty after Christmas just to let him get used to it.

He knows how to flush the toliet ... does that count for anything??? ;)

Pollito - I think we are just driving back to S. Florida on the 11th. We are going to MK on the 9th and then I am not sure about the 10th. We are going either see fireworks or something that night somewhere. My close friend works there and has a few passes left for this year to get us in so we can go pretty much anywhere. Have a great trip.

I thought about taking Alexander back but it's so short I don't know what they could do to fix it. It's not like they can add hair!!! I'd rather it have a chance to laydown in a week with some growth than be a buzz cut which is the next step! :-)

Good morning ladies.

My SIL called this morning- her mom is sick and she and BIL both had to work so she asked if I could watch Dnephew.

So, I have two crazy toddlers. :upsidedow

Actually, they are being very good. They sat at Vaylie's Princess table and played "tea party" for a while :laughing: and now they are dancing to the "Imagination Movers" on the disney channel. :dance3:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Later today we have our Christmas pictures! I'm excited.
Today is Ellery's birthday! I can't beleive she's a year old. I'm afraid she's getting sick though, she's been sneezing and coughing some this morning. :(
Happy Birthday Ellery!!!
Time flies, huh?
My nephew will be 2 tomorrow! I can't believe it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

well, I am back down to 1 toddler who is napping.

I really, really hope she cooperates for pictures today.

Happy Birthday Ellery!!!

Becky - I hope that the pictures go well. I can't seem to get my act together on pictures this week. I am hoping to get some good ones with all the decorations at WDW next week and have something to use for a Christmas card. I figured it's better than me pulling out all my props and trying to do it here!!!

Here's a picture from Last Christmas just to show you how different he looks!!!

DMickey- I haven't thought much about Christmas cards yet... I usually make them at wal-mart with pictures, but I need to actually take a picture. She'll rarely let me take a picture of her face- I always catch the back of her head.

Alex looks much more like a little boy now. Vaylie looks so big compared to last year, too.

We need to get some Christmas pictures. I still haven't put up any decorations though and I'm not sure if I'm going to. And I can't really afford to go and get any more studio pictures right now. We might go downtown or somewhere that is decorated nice if it's warm enough.

Well, Vaylie's pictures turned out great, even though through the last half of them she wouldn't quit bouncing. Kinda hard to get a good picture of a kid who won't stop jumping up and down. :yay: :laughing:

But, I was pleased with Portrait Innovations. I don't think the quality of prints is quite as good as Sears Portrait Studio, and they definitely need more studio areas (they only had 2 camera rooms- NOT enough!). And, you get a cd with all the pics, BUT, you can't take it anywhere to make prints (you CAN with the Sears CD, and I really liked that).

But, overall, I was still pleased and the price was about the same.

So, here are some of the pics we got.

I love her face here.

None of our family pics turned out too great- Vaylie wouldn't sit still!

You can see the scuff marks on the white background, but in the prints they edited them out.

Oy.

I just spent waaay too much on an "Anywhere Chair" from Pottery Barn Kids and I'm having a bit of buyer's remorse. I'm really more mad that I had to pay $17 shipping! :headache: I tried (unsuccessfully) to find a coupon code.

But, we have planned on buying V one for a while, and it is her big present for Christmas. And I know she will just LOVE it. SO, she's done now, and so is Dnephew. I got two other people done tonight while we were at the mall.

I still feel like I have a million people to buy for (I don't- really, we only have 5 more and each other to buy for, although I don't know if that will be happening), and my Christmas money is all dried up. Between pics today and the PB Kids chair, :faint:.
