DMICKEY- sorry about the false tests......gl trying again though!!! :wizard: wishing you baby dust!! what great pics too- love him pouring the water on himself.

JENNY- i think it just depends on the toddler bed or big boy bed. I think my sister moved my nephew at just over 18 months to his new big boy 'CARS' bed. He loves it and sleeps great in it. We have a convertible crib. I'll leave Will in it the crib until at least 18 months. at that point, if we notice he is crawling out or something, we might attempt the toddler bed. it just depends. he is really tall for his age, so he will probably be able to get out of the crib sooner than most. I say do what works for you, as long as he is safe and comfortable.

BECKY- want to send your DH to my house? :lmao: :thumbsup2 He sounds great! lol- glad he surprised you like that. I feel behind on shopping too- we are doing the black friday thing with my mom and sisters- should be fun. i really don't have to buy that much, i have started my shopping. We draw names in my family (whoever wants to participate) and buy like a $75 gift. we also do $5 stocking stuffers for everyone. We just buy for the kids in my in laws family. But there are 6 kiddos! time to shop!

Working today and tomrorow, but then i am off on Wednesday, yeah! I plan to actually go get a pedi. I swear i haven't had time to go in forever! my feet are horrible.

I don't know if i posted Will's pic or not-----he loved Santa.

Michelle - Love the Santa pics. Thanks for the good wishes. Alexander is big for his age, 36.5inches at 18 months, but he hasn't figured out how to get out of the crib yet. He can get one foot over and if he put his weight on his upper body and let his other foot go, he could do it but he hasn't tried. He would be a mess in the toddler bed. There is no way in heck he would go to sleep at a reasonable time!! I am hoping we can keep him in the full crib until at least June when we move again!

DMickey - Cute pics! Christopher hasn't tried helping to wash himself yet, but he is determined to brush his teeth by himself, and no one better be thinking they'll help..... And no, he's not saying anything yet.

Michelle - cute Santa pic. We haven't figured out when we're going for that.

Jenny - I was wondering when I'd take Christopher out of his crib too. He's 19 months, and hasn't the first clue how to get out of his crib, so he'll be staying there for a while. He sleeps like some kind of whirling dervish, so I'd be afraid he'd come flying out of bed when he's flipping around.

Jen- Vaylie is the same way about brushing her teeth! I try to at least get in a couple of swipes at them because all she does is chew on the toothbrush or wiggle it back and forth in her mouth. And that's great that you're getting EI set up! Good luck with your DH- I know mine drives me a little nuts when we have too much time together. Screws up my routines.

Dmickey- I love the pic of him dumping the water!!!

JennyL- I'm up in the air on the big bed thing. V is almost 21 months, and she's still in her crib. I can't imagine her staying in a bed that she can get out of easily. So, unless she's figures out how to climb out of the crib, I'm not worrying about it until she turns two. And then I haven't decided if I want to get a toddler bed or just buy a twin and put the mattress down low. I don't know.

Michelle- cute pic of Will with Santa. I need to get on buying Vaylie's dress and all that stuff. We need to go get pictures done, too. Too much stuff to do!!! Plus, I have to work around my work schedule and DH's school/work (he'll have finals coming up soon), so I feel like everything right now is a race against time. It's ridiculous. I'm debating going on Black Friday- just to Wal-Mart (it's the only thing close and I have to work at 8:45). I'm just not sure yet.

For you mommies that have boys: What are your buying the kiddos for Christmas? My Dnephew will be 2 on Dec. 4th- and I'm coming up short on ideas!

For his birthday we're getting him the Little People Racin' Ramps Garage and probably some books, puzzles or a video- stuff like that.

But, then I'm out of ideas and I have to buy Christmas presents.

I don't even really know what I'm getting Vaylie. I'm thinking the Anywhere Chair from PB Kids, and the Little People Dance 'n Twirl Palace (I think that's what it's called, anyway).

I don't know- nothing is jumping out at me and they already have SO much stuff, and will get SO much more!

I'm shopping online right now, since I'm feeling lazy today.

I just bought Alexander a Fisher Price Power Wheels Lil' Quad and he LOVES it. It was on sale at Target last week for $56!! Since we are traveling from 12.13 to NYE we aren't getting him much for Christmas that needs to be packed up and dragged home! He rides it in the house and also outside on the grass and loves the thing!!

His other favs at this point are his Thomas the Train tent. He loves when I set it up. He drags his Elmo Couch in there along with his blankie and a bunch of other toys and just plays in there.

I was going to get him a Play Kitchen but am going to wait until either his 2nd birthday or even next Christmas. He is still a little young and not really into much Pretend play yet.

He LOVES his Little People Bus and Airplane. Anything he can put stuff into and drive around is a big hit. He has the Parking garage but really just plays with one of the small trucks with it but that's it.

Jen - that's great that Christopher is getting speech therapy, I hope it helps.

Jenny - I think all kids take different amounts of time to walk. Alex was probably only a couple of days of struggling before he took off, but his cousin that is the same age took a couple of months. As for the big kid bed, that varies too! :goodvibes Alex is still in his crib and will stay there until he figures out how to get out. He has gotten a leg up before in the crib he was using at my mom's house, but the crib at our new house is much lower and I don't think he could do it. We already have an extra full size bed, so we will probably move him to that when he is ready, and hopefully have a little girl on the way by then. princess: As for the sleep issues, I wish I knew the answer. Alex does this once in a great while, but never with any frequency so I have no idea what the reason is.

DMickey - cute pics! Sounds like you guys had a great time at the game!

Michelle - nice pic with Santa! I'm off starting tomorrow too! :goodvibes We just got Alex's holiday outfit, so now I just need to find a good place to take him around here for his Santa pics.

Becky - Alex does the same thing brusing his teeth. I just bought him 2 new tooth brushes this weekend, b/c I made the mistake of asking him if he wanted a Cars one or Dora and he picked both. DH is not very happy with Alex's love of Dora, but I don't see anything wrong with it.

As for boy x-mas presents, Alex loves anything dealing with cars, trucks, and tractors, so I am thinking of getting him something from the GeoTrax line or maybe Thomas the train. Those things always seem to be a hit with little boys. My mom got him this little Thomas pop-up tent thing that he really likes. Oh, and maybe a thing or 2 when we are in WDW in 2 weeks and 1 day!

I just posted the same thing about the Thomas tent! :goodvibes And my alex has an Elmo chair he likes to put in it with a pillow and blanket - too funny! :lmao: He has the LP Airplane, too - sounds like our boys are pretty alike! Except Alex is really into a play kitchen I got him for $12! at a consignment sale. He puts his cars in the oven and refrigerator though. :confused3

Oh, I almost forgot his new FAVORITE toy is one of those trucks that is a carrier for other cars. He will play with that one for hours! :thumbsup2

Ohhh a truck that carriers other cars or anything else for that matter would be a sure hit here. Maybe we will do that for Christmas.

Brady loves anything to do w/cars/trucks. He pushed them around making noises all the time...crashes them.

I believe it is fisher price (i need to find one) came out w/a nascar set this year...

He is so into elmo, I got him one of th elmo live. I'm not sure what else he's getting at this point.

Hi Guys!

Sorry I have been MIA!! I have been reading though.

DH is home from his business trip - thank god - it was hard being all alone for 13 days.

My trial has resolved -- double thank god - I was dreading having the trial over Thanksgiving. Of course - the last few weeks at work sucked getting ready for trial but at least its resolved now!

Things are good with Izzy - we just bought her real shoes - her first pair of real shoes -- hopefully she will start walking soon now that she has shoes.

Happy to hear that everyone is doing great. This thread has been busy and active while I have been locked up in my office the last few weeks. Seems like everyone is busy and getting ready for the holidays.

I am so impressed with those of you that have already decorated for xmas! I haven't even thought about xmas yet- let alone making my shopping list. I am not super interested in xmas shopping this year! Hopefully that will change soon!

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!!

Hugs
Nicole

So not sure its the bed. Sunday morning he threw up his morning bottle and then yesterday at daycare he did the same with his cereal and last night his last bottle. Of course once he gets everything out he's a happy baby and playful. He doesn't have a fever and only a slight runny nose. He's poo is very loose and very green though. I'm calling the doctor this morning to see if they want him to come in. I'm not sure if he's caught something or if it has anything to do with teething. He's popped all four front teeth through recently at least a little. Which teeth come next and about what time? He is still chewing on everthing so I know we aren't all the way done yet. Has anyone had anything like this with teething?

Vaylie always, always has a runny nose when she's teething, and she has thrown up on occassion- not sure if it was due to teething or just upset tummy. It's so hard when they can't tell you what is going on.

The next teeth are generally the ones to the sides of his 4 front teeth (not the eye teeth, the next ones). Vaylie got the fronts, then the front sides, then molars, and we're still working on eye teeth (the top are in, the bottom are hanging out).

I'd call the doc, too. Just in case. 'Tis the season to be sick. :goodvibes

Re: Little People Bus and Airplane- Vaylie and Dnephew have those at my MIL's , and ohmygosh- they love them. They fight over who gets the bus. :rotfl:

Well- I bought stuff last night!!! More than I intended, but alas- isn't that how it goes?

We bought Dnephew a Little Einsteins "Pat Pat Rocket," a couple of shirts from Children's PLace (GREAT sales right now- got Vaylie a coat for 40% off), a big dump truck, and a Mickey Mouse memory game. So- he's done. For his birthday we got him the Little People Racin' Ramps Garage and I have to find out if he has the Imagination Movers CD (he loves the "Jump up, get down" song). :cutie:

For Vaylie- (we bought a lot of the same stuff- they are so close in age it's like having twins): The Rocket, a sweater from CP, a Disney Princess Memory game, some tub crayons, Elmo's Potty DVD, a Melissa & Doug puzzle, and then we're going to get the PB chair and maybe the Little People Dance n' Twirl Palace. It's cute, but I've already overspent... Dh still wants to get it. We'll see.

SO- we're done with the biggest part of Christmas shopping!! :yay:

The rest is much easier (I still don't have my names from all the drawings, so I can't get started on them yet).

Tonight I have to make pumpkin rolls, so if I'm not here- have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!! :grouphug:

Just thought I'd share a pic of my daughters Christmas Picture. GRUMPY!!! This was the 2nd time going, first time she cried and threw up and also had this blank look on her face. Now again, the 2nd time, same thing. We wanted to get the picture because it's funny and she still looks cute, even when she's not smiling :goodvibes

That look is so WHATEVER MOMMY! :lmao: :rotfl2:

Oh by the way ladies...not that it's important or anything.......
MO IS WALKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo:

He's been taking a little step here in there for a couple of weeks, but on Saturday, that little man took 4 or 5 GOOD steps to get to his toys! His ped nailed it...he's walking before his first! :goodvibes He still crawls mostly, but our son is officially a walker! WHOA! :)

Denise- watch out now! :yay: They keep you hopping once they can walk. And running follows pretty quickly too.

DznyLvr2005- That pic is still adorable. We got some grumpy pics last year and there is one where she's making what we called the "snorty face" where she would snort and let you know she was annoyed- it's my favorite picture now.

I got Vaylie a Christmas dress last night! Everyone already had them like, 40% off! It's not even Thanksgiving and they are already marking down Christmas dresses!! BUT- good for me. I got it from Gymboree (GREAT sales there right now) and it is so beautiful- it's chocolate brown with velvet trim and sleeves. And I was worried about not being able to find shoes to go with it, but we found some chocolate brown dress shoes in Target! (They might be a little big, but I can't be picky- chocolate brown is hard to match). Gymboree has adorable gold shoes that would have been great, but no store within a 100 mile radius had them. boo.

Denise - Watch out MO ... he is going to be into EVERYTHING soon!!

Dzny - Love the picture. We brought Alexander for the first time to get his picture done in October and most of them were like that. He DID NOT like the outgoing personalities of the people taking the pictures.

Becky - Great job on the Christmas shopping. You have, of course, made me check out TCP and Gymboree online. I can't go out today and you would have to bound and gag me to get me to the mall this weekend so I'll probably miss good sales. I have a couple of the recent Gymboree lines so we are good there but could use some more stuff from TCP for Christmas up North.

*********
I need to get moving on Christmas Pictures. I want to do them at Walmart so I need to get them done next week. Alexander needs a haircut so bad so I can't do the pictures until we get the haircut. I wanted to get his haircut on Main Street in two weeks but I can't wait that long to take the pictures. I think maybe Friday I will see if the place is open and get it cut so I can take the pictures early next week!!

He looks like a ragamuffin right now with his hair.

Yay Denise on the walking! Yep, life has changed since we got walkers here! Sam is even walking backwards now..too funny!!!

Well, we had Sam & Zoe's birthday party on the Nov 15th. We had a blast! Sam & Zoe looked cute and they loved opening thier presents! Sam picked at his cake, and Zoe literally put her fist through her cake!

Their 12 month appt was great, and both are growing great. Our pedi was just eating them up! She was glad to see them walking and glad to see happy babies! hopefully we will get some real words going on soon. Sam has two or three words and Zoe can growl and she hisses at the cats.

We are down to one bottle a day at bedtime, which will go in the next couple of months. I an still doing some homemade purees, but we are getting sooo much better with finger foods. They have both recently learned to drink out of a straw, so we put away all the double handle sippys and we now have big kid straw sippys!

We are doing some coloring (and eating) with crayons now, and they love it. It is cool to have art on the fridge!

I am trying to give them a spoon at mealtimes and really need to start putting their finger foods on a plate for them!

Anyway, thats the update, hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!
