I have booked a TPV for JUne. Which building have trhe TPV. Also are the TPV on the upper levels or could we end up on the ground floor with a TPV and not be able to see much with the trees and such.

Thanks so much.

Hi if you go back to the first page of this thread there is a map of the buildings. I would want an upper floor and if you arent staying in the main building then I would request Bocha Chica and Conch Key. I know you can also get a nice view from Sago but it can be tricky.

Hello :) Question about Narcoosees - thought I would post here instead of restaurant because I know several of you GF experts have eaten there. What are your thoughts on taking our 4 and 5 year old? Is it a long meal (3 hours) or average (1.5 hours)? I want dh to eat good while we are there so I am trying to balance out the character meals vs. nicer restaurant meals so everyone is happy.

go for it. I am sure the kids will be fine and food is tasty!

Hi ALL!!!

Can anyone give me a recommendation for a nice room in the "Garden" category? We're going May 20th for 1 week, any recommendations would be great!

Thanks so much!

HI All! Bumping up again. If anyone has any suggestions or tips please let me know. With garden view can we get pool side or partial lagoon view?

thanks so much!

Brunette

I think with a garden view room you would get a garden or landscaped view. You can book a garden view and request a marina view and you might end up in Sago with a view of the marina and the sugar loaf building.
How important is the view? Do you plan on spending time in the room?

:goodvibes This thread is wonderful!! We have been to Disney many times. This year we are going as part of a grand gathering with my family. Since we are the ones who have been to Disney the most, we have been designated 'the planners'. We have never stayed in any of the Deluxe resorts, but have visited all of them. Originally, we were scheduled to stay at the Polynesian, but with the 4/3 special my dad upgraded us to The Grand Floridian. Of course, the deluxe I know the least about. :confused3
So, all of you have been very helpful. I will keep checking everyday and maybe I will know enough when we get there the end of May. We are very excited!!!!   THanks again for all your advice. :)

welcome to the GF thread!

To you GF experts:) My husband and I are taking our Moms in May- but they are leaving the night before we do and I was hoping to plan something special for the last night. Has anyone ever tried one of GF's private dining experiences?

Were planning to go around first week of may in 2010 is there any events held at the Grand Floridian during that time?

They are a separate booking category except in Sugar Loaf where they are mostly by luck or request. I say luck because twice we got the tower room and the one time we requested it we didn't get it. They are hard to get as they book up fast. Enjoy your stay at the Grand.

Thanks for your answer:) . I checked for the days we're there and those rooms are sold out as a booking category for the 4-3 promo. They are popular and scarce, I guess. Thanks again for the info.

Most gardenview rooms face either the courtyard (where the original pool is located) or the marina with the lagoon beyond.

I have booked a TPV for JUne. Which building have trhe TPV. Also are the TPV on the upper levels or could we end up on the ground floor with a TPV and not be able to see much with the trees and such.

Thanks so much.

Conch Key, Sago Cay and Boca Chica have TPV rooms. I would think that Big Pine Key does too since Boca Chica does. I would prefer the first two. The others would have kind of a sideways view and there are more trees in front of them. Some people have reported having TPV room in Boca Chica partially blocked by trees. That problem may have been remedied. :confused3

We've had a beautiful view from Conch Key during three GF stays but no personal experience with the other buildings for TPV.

As for floor, I doubt it matters at all. The MK is far enough away that the difference between an upper floor and ground floor is negligible. An indication of this is the fact that there is a suite located on the first floor of Conch Key that faces the MK. I'm sure the Imagineers with their famous attention to detail located that suite there precisely because of the view. There are bushes surrounding the patio for that suite but they are low, Victorian style hedges and would not interfere with the view in the least.

They do a great job. :thumbsup2 They can set up a private dinner anywhere just about anywhere on the GF property & you have many options....butlers, photographers, characters, anything you can think of....:goodvibes

Happy planning!

DEFINITELY request an upper floor. :thumbsup2 I had a ground floor room at the Poly that was LVC and it was horrible....big bush right outside the sliders blocked the whole view.:scared1:  But that was the Poly...however I learned...(a couple lessons there.:rotfl: No Poly and no ground floor for view;) )

If I had a TPV at the GF I would want to be in Sago or Conch. And the GF is terrific!

Happy planning,

Cinderumbrella/Kristen, that room you had last visit, is it a GV room? Did you make a certain request to get it? (Tell me again what a lodge tower room is?)

It is a separate booking category. We received a wonderful surprise upgrade from GV to that room and were delighted beyond belief!!!!

Traci- we went in December and our 3 course meal should have been around 1.5 hours, but we lingered at the end to see Wishes. There were plenty of children there when we were there (some behaved better than others :rolleyes1 ) But unless yours are prone to running back and forth in the restuarant while you and your spouse drink too much wine and ignore their behavior, I am sure you will be fine. :rotfl: That certainly was the rare exception to the children in attendance that evening!!! It was one of our very favorite meals and is my choice for my birthday dinner this coming November!!!

Hi! The view is important to me:goodvibes . I plan to stay in the hotel room (to watch movies, go to the pool, and just R and R). We stayed at the poly in August of last year had a garden view facing the pool. It was very nice and the landscaping was awesome too.

How is the Sago building? Is it close to the monorail system? Thanks again!

Thank you BVC!

Take care.

We'll be there in 29 days! I booked gv (all that was available for that time frame with the 7/4 offer) and requested either Conch Key or Sago Cay marina view. I'm hoping we get a nice view because my in-laws are coming with us and it's their first time at GF. I want them to see why we love it soooo much!

Hi! I am so excited that I just had to post on the GF thread. I received a 40% off pin code in my email so I just booked a disneymoon for September with it! We will be stayng in the RPC and I can't wait! My fiance and I are both Disney enthusiasts so we are very excited about this. We arrive at he GF the day after our wedding. We will stay at the GF for 5 days and then fly down to Bermuda for the rest of our honeymoon...sigh:cloud9: I can't wait!

Hi all!
I just booked a lodge tower room for this weekend (pinch me, am I dreaming?) Was wondering if anyone had any pics they could share--or insight into what views these rooms might have.
Thanks! :)
