never tried it, but plan on it in December

Our top 3 are Narcoosees, Cali Grille and CRT Dinner (those lamb chops were AMAZING!!)

ETA: Also, for those traveling in June, park hours and EMH are out and the UG has updated its crowds calendar to reflect it!

What is with the June hours? They close at 8 or 9 alot of nights at the end of June!?! They are usually open til 11 in all the past Junes we've been there!
There is Evening EMH once or twice, which helps, but I'm surprised that they're closing so early on many nights?! :confused3

I know- in comparison to last year's June hours it seems like AK and DHS are closing too early. It shows DHS closing at 8pm for SWW

But I am happy that MK is open until at least 10pm though (that is our FAVORITE evening park) They also upped the PM EMH nights to 2 x per week instead of just 1 time and one night of being open to the GP until midnight.

It's Disney's cost-cutting measures due to the economy. We're going during Easter and they have (in the last month) even shortened some of the park hours during that week! And it's one of the busiest weeks of the year.

next thing you know they will close the parks at 11pm on New Year's Eve

Hello all,

I'm hoping the folks on this thread might be able to help me out. My boyfriend and I are planning a trip and he's decided he wants to stay either at the Grand Floridian or the Yacht Club. I have some questions that I haven't been able to find the answers for:

- Are King Sized beds only available in the Honeymoon rooms?
- Do you have to be on a honeymoon to reserve the honeymoon rooms (I saw the word Jacuzzi tub and I cannot get my mind off since those = :cloud9: for me)
- How quiet are the concierge rooms in the main building? I understand that there is Concierge available in the Sugar Loaf buildings but I like the idea of staying in the main building...if the rooms are loud however then I'd probably go Sugar Loaf.
- How are the views in the concierge rooms? Are any of them MK?
- How quiet is the quiet pool? Neither of us are a huge fan of large crowds so a quiet pool actually being somewhat quiet (I doubt any get fully quiet, it IS Disney World!) is very much desired.
- The monorail loop stops at the GF last correct?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you :)

Hello all,

I'm hoping the folks on this thread might be able to help me out. My boyfriend and I are planning a trip and he's decided he wants to stay either at the Grand Floridian or the Yacht Club. I have some questions that I haven't been able to find the answers for:

King beds are available in all lodges....but they are REQUEST only....the only way to guarantee a king bed is too book the honey moon room.

- Do you have to be on a honeymoon to reserve the honeymoon rooms (I saw the word Jacuzzi tub and I cannot get my mind off since those = :cloud9: for me)

No...anybody can book a honeymoon room...they are deluxe king rooms.

- How quiet are the concierge rooms in the main building? I understand that there is Concierge available in the Sugar Loaf buildings but I like the idea of staying in the main building...if the rooms are loud however then I'd probably go Sugar Loaf.

I prefer the main building concierge over sugar loaf...IMO Sugar Loaf is crowded and noisy. It was for us. The main building is very open, bright and sunny and often we are the only ones in the lounge during bfast or if we take a mid day break. The rooms are quiet in the main building...unless you have one overlooking the lobby...that is a bit different. I prefer the wings. Sugar loaf...about the same.
- How are the views in the concierge rooms? Are any of them MK?

RPC - main building concierge DO have MK view rooms...there is a wing of rooms on the 2nd floor - all king deluxe rooms - that have perfect castle views.
- How quiet is the quiet pool? Neither of us are a huge fan of large crowds so a quiet pool actually being somewhat quiet (I doubt any get fully quiet, it IS Disney World!) is very much desired.

The quiet pool is very large. It is pretty quiet. Most kids and families go to the Beach Pool..which is themed with a water fall....and zero depth entry...and has the cabanas.

- The monorail loop stops at the GF last correct?

Right...the MK is the next stop after the GF.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you :)

I also have a website that is devoted to GF info...

It is www.WhereTheMagicLives.com and it might answer a lot of other questions you may have about the GF....there are tons of photos, also.

Ok alll you Narcoosee's fans...I'm currently thinking of booking a dinner at Citricos. Should I make it for Narcoosees instead? Why?

Citricos is wonderful! Try it.

It doesn't have the view that Narcoosee's enjoys but it is a quieter setting...usually. The food and service are consistently great.

My DH's two favorites are California Grill and Citricos.

Check out the menus and maybe decide by that.

Thanks, Amy:goodvibes ...hmmm...I wonder why it wasn't working for ya before......:confused3

Well..I will keep adding to it. It's a work in progress. Things are constantly changing at the GF so it will have to be continuously updated but with the direct info I can get straight from the GF and GF CMs & others it will be the most current. It just takes me a while to get it completed.:goodvibes But I really enjoy doing it...and it will GROOooowwww with time.:upsidedow

Lives4Disney thank you so much for your informative replies! They are helping out a bunch (even if our trip is far out) and LOOOOOOOOOOOVE your GF website! I wish all resorts had a website like that, it would make choosing much easier.

I wonder if Disney looks down on non Honeymooners reserving the Honeymoon rooms. I'd hate to think of some lovely bride and groom deprived because I'm addicted to Jacuzzi tub and wanted a more privately romantic room :/

Thank you again!

My internet is stupid and my computer stinks. That's my explination for everything. :rotfl:

My DH and I have stayed in one of these rooms twice, and never had anyone ask/comment if we were on our "honeymoon" or not. The rooms are there to be booked, and there are I think about 15 or so of these rooms (9 I believe on the private 2nd floor with the Castle view, and 6 "turret-style" rooms - 2 each on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors.) I often find that these rooms will pop up as being available when regular RPC rooms are not, since they're obviously only meant for 2 adults.

We love the room because it does guarantee the king bed, and either of the 2 types of rooms/locations are wonderful. I say, book with abandon, and enjoy!!!

They really don't care, my DD and I have booked honeymoon rooms before, and a friend has booked one with her DD. As Tinkaroo mentioned, sometimes it's the only room category left in RPC!

You're welcome!:goodvibes

OH no...they do not look down on anybody booking those rooms!! Hey...they aren't even CALLED "Honeymoon" Rooms...they are deluxe king club rooms...so even if my husband and I - who have been married over 20 years - got the chance to go w/out our kids I would book one!!:rotfl:

You are sweet....nobody will be deprived of the rooms...theroom assigners can move people up to suites or whatever else to make sure all who BOOK a king room get it!:goodvibes And really...sometimes ...those king rooms go empty more than others because most book the rooms with 2 queen beds.:)

Happy planning!

Hello GF Experts!:wave2:

I've been searching this thread and others for pictures and info on the SugarLoaf Conceirge Lounge. However, the pix I've seen have shown only the food and eating area with tables and chairs.
Does SugarLoaf have an actual "lounging" area with relaxing chairs, sofas, and TV? I've definitley seen shots of these "lounging" areas in RPC, Poly's Hawaii, and WL - but not SL?:confused3

Thanks Much!:flower3:

Thats pretty much it. If you want more space you will need to stay in the main building for concierge.

Thanks to everyone for easing my fears about possibly booking one of the deluxe king RPC rooms! I've finished reading all 118 pages (whew!) and am armed with knowledge to take back to the boyfriend. Now to just plow through the YC/BC thread, list pros and cons of both, take the lists BACK to the Boyfriend and see what he says!

Thanks again :flower3:

Ok I was looking to find the last GF FAQ thread for some pictures I remember seeing. It seems the sticky with the FAQ threads is no longer at the top of the page. Anyone know what is going on or where I can find the old FAQ thread?? Thanks

Hmm i have a decision to make about which Club Level area we should do. If we do The Sugar Loaf Key for 8 Nights its with tickets and meal plan without flight it comes down to 6,120 If we do Royal Palm Club for 7 Nights No Meal Plan, with tickets and no flight 6,300

:lmao: I feel so spoiled
