Chris told my boys that he's been training people for the cabanas and few other things for a year to two for Disney.

We can all see why!!! He's very easy to like!!

If that's the case good luck booking it! I have a feeling its is gonna be very popular hard to come by!

I'm going to the GF May 12-19. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it. I have travelled many times to the world but this will be my first time staying at the Grand Floridian! I am so glad I found this board!

BlueSkies, thanks for the info. I wonder if they will have cabanas at the BLT pool as well as the CR?

I hope so too... I like the idea of the thatched roofs, but I dont think I'd want to be the only person at the entire resort in a cabana -- a bit too showy in my opinion. Hopefully there will be a few out... it sounds heavenly .

BCV I didnt hear anything about cabanas at BLT ...a CM at the CR pool told me about the refurbs there after I asked about the cabana that was at the Bay Lake pool...I think its a great idea...but then I am a cabana fan

You don't ever have to give up the Polynesian. It is fun to switch hotels every now and then. That is why Disney has so many hotels , they are all different and have different things to offer.

But I understand how people are afraid to try new resorts....we were CR fans for about 15 years and never thought much about the GF....we booked it on a spontaneous trip and have never looked back.....it totally hooked us.

Are home looks like a lodge at the GF lots of valuted ceillings towers and such i know we would like the theme and it would really be like a home away from home heck i even got the GF shampoo set for xmas lol

Melissa...I stayed at the CR as a kid too!! SO....that is where I wanted to stay with MY kids...My son grew up staying at the CR 2 to 3 wks a year..he loves that place...and it is a neat hotel & we stayed there for 15 yrs...but once we tried the GF we were sold. We have always had the best service all around at the GF...adn the most magical CMs are at the GF.
