What is the view from the new pool. I have not been to the new pool. Can you see the castle or CR while there?

At other spas I have found it to be a shower nozzle that can move over the massage/shower table that you are getting the treatment on. It also can have massage type capabilities.

hey FeeFee! If you mean the pool next to the main building I could see the poly and CR. I dont remember seeing the castle over by the cabanas. Now at the poly I could see the castle and it was awesome.

I need help with garden view room information at the GF. Would you suggest Sago Cay or Conch Key or even another garden view? Where are the dormer rooms? Are they for the garden view rooms? What do you think of them? Any photos to share? I need to book tomorrow and am desperately trying to find some good information about them. THANKS A BUNCH:banana:

You will get a nice GV that over looks the quiet pool in Big Pine Key. If being close to the pools are important then I would suggest BPK because you are the closets to both pools. I also liked BPK because the pool bar is right outside your building and you can get a refill for the resort mugs there with out having to walk all the way over to Gaspy's for a soda. Just some things to think about.

I assume the GV is the same from Boca Chica, and Sugar Loaf, I would choose Pine key over Conch. Hope that helps :)

We like Conch since it is near the main building, can have views of the Marina, and the fireworks are right out your door. (Ditto for Sago, which is also near the bus stop).

A dormer room is one of the rooms on the top floor. It has a vaulted ceiling which makes the room "feel bigger" when they are actually a bit smaller. Most don't come with a daybed and have a solid balcony (e.g. you can't see through it) vs. a spindled balcony.

we are staying here for one night in 25 days before we check into our DVC resort the next day. We never really wanted to stay here because the resort has a "beautiful people" atmosphere as in IZOD and tangled sweaters around our necks arent really our forte, but I splurged for a night because it will be a special night for us so we said what the heck and booked it. We have a theme park view but arent really sure where on the grounds that will be,
anyone have any ideas of where we will be located?
Also for this one night we are basically staying at the resort and having dinner at Narcossi's...any other recommendations of activities for a nice, quiet, peaceful day spent at a resort?

Hi Everybody~

We went to GF from April 3rd-10th, Big Pine Key room 9347....FABULOUS room.

If anyone is interested, here is the link my trip report on the trip report thread with pics of the room and view.

Thanks for everyone's help in our planning process, it really was a dream vacation and the Grand Floridian was WONDERFUL.

Just wondering, I'm in preplanning stage for our 2009 and we are most likely staying at GF. But would love to have dinner at AKL, I'm guessing the easiest way to get their by Disney transport is monorail over to MK and just take the bus directly to AKL? My OCD is kicking in so I love to agonize over every details!

That's the best way that I know of. Since the monorail takes you right to the MK from GF, then you hop on the AKL bus, it shouldn't be too painful!:)

That's interesting! I think I am going to make it my mission to check out the rooms and views in every building just for the sake of being able to help others...:rotfl:

Did you also post somewhere that you DH has a bum knee right now? If that was you then I would think about where you will be headed most the time and request accordingly.

Big Pine Key is close to both pools and the main lobby for easy access to most restaurants, shops and the monorail.

Sago Cay is closest of the gardenview buildings to Gasparilla's for counter service (Sugar Loaf is equally close but is concierge). It is also closest to the bus stop and also to 1900 Park Fare if you take the back route.

drinktomeonly, I'm looking forward to reading your report. Glad your trip was wonderful.

Thanks for the wonderful pictures everyone! We luckily last minute booked this resort and are very excited as it was the only one available and seems very beautiful! Looking forward to our stay here! Should be very fun:goodvibes
