Brizite, I missed your post. I hope you and your DD have a wonderful Thanksgiving together. I will be thinking of you and your DH in Iraq. THanks for the sacrifices you've all had to make. We are all truly blessed to live in the USA.
To interested parties.....Narcoosees was WONDERFUL. Loved it. I thought it was expensive, but that's because DD11's meal was over $50, lol, and she is a light eater so the waste just adds up quickly. She and I had the endive salad w/blue cheese and sugared pecans and apples (scrumptious) and the filet with scalloped potatos. DS and DH had the crusted halibut and the same salads....DD7 had the chicken soup and Mickey mac and cheese and she gave all 4 thumbs up. I had sangria and DD11 had a virgin pina colava.....they even served the drinks with the rarely seen Mickey Mouse straws. I remember when they'd even come in a sippy cup at CMs. Now they are almost impossible to find. We really enjoyed it, but I honestly thought it was very very expensive. I am not used to paying $40-60 for an entree and $14 for salad. I just think for a family of 5 that's steep....especially when we're not foodies and kind of picky at that.
A gross lounge story......tonight before dinner I went to get a Diet Coke....was waiting my turn for ice in my cup ....there was a little girl using it so I watched and waited. She proceeded to dip the ice scooper spoon into her drink and stir the ice in, LICK the spoon and to my horror even as I said "OMG>>>>DON"T PUT THAT BACK IN THERE(the ice bucket) She did. Ick. So I waited around to tell the lounge CM what happened & warn other unsuspecting guests. Lounge CM was grossed out, too, but apparently she's seen it all because she told me it's not just the little ones the big ones do stuff like that too!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL that is nasty. She was disgusted by what she's seen. Anyway, Jojo sat and watched TV with her and later told us that she tried to tell her to have some manners because she was just taking things w/her hands etc and her mom was not there, but came every 15 minutes to check on her!!!
The kid was just dumped in the lounge for a free for all. Real nice. Needless to say I just skipped the ice tonight.
Also, at the French restaurant - great delicious lunch but they were very pissy about my DDE card and insisted on seeing an ID which they then took away for about 10 minutes with my DDE and room key card. I didn't feel comfortable with that because it has NEVER happened to me and I've had the card since the start. So I asked the manager and that's their new procedure and I should be seeing it more often etc
....I just didn't like that they were rude like I was trying to cheat them out of the dumb 20% and then how they disappeared w/my drivers license and info....ANYWAY, at Narcoosees on the big bill, no questions asked, no ID needed nothing.
"New procedure", ya right.
Nobody turned in the pins.
I am very disappointed with the people here at Disney. Not the CMs but the obnoxious guests. I think people have really gone down hill.
Sad but people are greedy pushy and rude and it's pathetic that some idiot would steal a little kids collection and think nothing of it. I do consider it stealing - even though Jo took it off and accidentally left it on a boat seat, we realized it almost right away and these Disney guests have me really pi**ed. The CMs have been nothing short of fantastic. It's the awful guests.
Lucy is extremely crushed because 1/2 the pins were hers and she's been a true collector for several years. The CMs here at the good old Grand have taught her the ins and outs and what to look for, printed her lists, and given her special non replaceable ones and this just rots that some jerk would find these & keep them. I have lost my faith in Disney being an escape from reality. The creeps are finding their ways in. Lu and Jo were collecting together and they had their sets set up and part were in Jo's case so it has hit both of them hard. I know we need to get over it, but I am feeling really sad and disappointed now - I think mostly because it is a reflection of what's been going on here w/park people.
Oh, ya....dream team is nonexistent. If DH and DS hadn't won their first morning here I wouldn't even know they were around. Very very skimpy on the Dream Squad CMs. Not that i care I am surprised how we haven't seen them out and about. It's funny how packed this place is and I thought it might have something to do with all Disney's new promotions re this stuff but the Dream CMs are in hiding, lol.
