Channing, So sorry you aren't have as magical a trip as you wanted. I agree that the people who would stop and turn in that Pin set is getting fewer and fewer. I would have just handed it to the boat driver right away. That really shouldn't have been too hard for someone. I really hate the attitude people have now "you lose, I win". Kinda the attitude that "hey they shouldn't have lost it therefore, it is my gain". I just don't understand that. We are all people and we all make mistakes. Kinda takes the magic away.

I hope your Thanksgiving is great today and I hope you got over your ill health! I don't collect pins so I don't have any to send. Can I pick them up at a Disney store? I would be happy to do that since you have given so much to my family in answering all our questions before our trip. Just let me know what I should be looking for!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Channing: I am so bummed to hear that your trip has run into so many difficulties! Your poor daughter must be heartbroken, I know mine would be. My DD would LOVE to send her a few pins from her collection, they're about the same age so I'm sure she can find something special for her.
Do you think it's this bad because it's such a busy weekend? I really hope that's the case. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed Narcoosee's. I decided to book there after reading a great report (I think it was Heatherlynn's?) so I booked it for our first night meal. Anyway, have a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoy the rest of your vacation!

We're definitely in for sending pins to JoJo. I told Davis, and he said he'd go pick some out right now to send!

Hi! First off....you guys are so sweet and fantastic about the pins. I appreciate the offers so much and it restores my faith in people. I don't want to put anybody out though. It was my dumb*** mistake in not taking a CLUE that Jojo was being a bit irresponsible when she lost her chunky Mickey bracelet in the river in Mexico:laughing: ....her plastic MInnie ring who knows where and 3 Epcot masks too. :rotfl: :rotfl: All in like 5 minutes... I don't know WHAT I was thinking letting her carry her case around except who knew she'd feel the need to slip it off her shoulder - it was the cross body style so I thought it was safe....she still insists she did not take it off. Weird. :rolleyes1

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!! :wizard: We slept in late. I tossed my cookies last night  and Lucy has felt icky & queesy all day today so it was a slow start and we went to MGM for the day. Brown Derby lunch - great. Park crowded but it was still OK and the Osborne lights are beautiful. I think it should be a must see. :santa: They are better, more colorful, and more fun with the dancing music and lights than ever before. :santa: We are going to try and get back there once more before we leave.

We are having fun but moving slow & not doing a whole lot. I think despite the plans to go to MK tonight till midnight, we're done. Didn't make it over to WCC for dinner or WL to see it. Wishes is going off outside our window and everybody is pooped out.

Well, I keep thinking THANK GOD for this nice RPC and GF and all because this isn't one of our best trips to WDW. We've been here for a few Thanksgivings in the pst & I cannot get over how much more crowded this place is. Crowds and I don't mix. :headache:

I am sorry - I keep forgetting to get the new manager's name:guilty: ....I had it on the tip of my tongue to ask a CM and then the conversation turned....also about Sago. I will TRY tomorrow again to remember these two things.

Happy planning. See ya later,

Lives4Disney :)

Well I am more than happy to send Jojo a pin and I am gonna do it anyway I knew you would say not to. LOL

I have mine sitting here right in front of me... so please PM me and I can get it out to you asap... I think it would be fun for them to get some pins from other Disers and like the other poster said... To see how many states they get them from!!!

I'm sure they've both learned their lesson, now they can begin again...

I think WDW has gotten so crowded over Thanksgiving because they started the Xmas stuff earlier and earlier every year and I know my nephew in TX has the entire week off from school, so I think alot of other kids do too...

Hope you have a good rest of the trip... I recommend a hammock by the beach if one is available and a nice frosty frozen drink...

Lives4disney, I am sorry to hear that your trip this time is not one of your best. Please try to enjoy the rest of your trip and I hope that things will get better.

Just so everyone knows I have updated several of the posts at the beginning of the thread with page #s and post #s to find things easily.

I can't believe I am posting this now but my family and I are already talking about out trip to WDW in August 2008 and we are considering staying at Sugar Loaf Club Level. Of course we want to see how we like the Polynesian when we stay there next month and we would also consider the Contemporary. Plus we are not making any reservations until our WDW vacation next month has ended, so it would be a short time after that when things would start to get done. Anyway I am just wondering do they serve the exact same foods during the afternoon and evening that Royal Palm does, what do you think of the renovated rooms, what is the lounge like and is Sugar Loaf located close to Gasparilla's Grill & Games? Any info I can get on this I would appreciate very much.

The new rooms are growing on me. If you go to the first pages here it will list post #s to find pics of the new Sugar Loaf lounge, the rooms and the food served. The food is the same at both now and they both serve alcohol. The differences are the space of the lounges and you are in an outer lodge building instead of the main building. Gaspies is very close to the sugar loaf building and is open 24 hours a day.
I love the GF and the staff in both lounges is so great!

The pictures of the lounge and the renovated rooms look very nice. After seeing them I think it would a nice idea to try Sugar Loaf, however like I said before my family and I are going to wait on that. Although we are seriously going to consider it. If anyone else would like to give any more info or their experiences go right ahead, so the more the better.

Fan, I'll be there (first time visit at the GF) in two days, and will post a report when I return!!

Channing-

I have been reading our posts regarding crowds during this time and have to agree. We had gone during this time over the last few years and noticed with each passing year it got worse. I have also been receiving calls from a co-worker of mine that is there and keeps saying how bad it is and she has been during this time a few times.

I found myself so much happier during our early June trip this year that we decided to give up our Thanksgiving week trips for good. Now we are booked May 23-31, 2008. I am hoping for a good trip this go 'round and Monday I get to make ADR's for 11 of us( my 2 sisters and their grandchildren are coming). My oldest DD16 keeps saying she doesn't want to go and I won't force her but I will include her in the ADR's (just in case). If she does decide to go we will have to switch hotels because I booked AKL, again. DD7 can't wait to show DH "her slide" over there.

Hope you are feeling better soon and sorry to hear about Jo Jo's pins. DD7 lost her mister on our last trip, silly girl.
