Just piping in here regarding taking things from the lounge. A few weeks ago while we were there, I saw people ask for and take 2 full bottles of wine and glasses back to their room on two occasions when wine wasn't even out at that time. If that is fine, then don't worry about taking a Coke or two or a little plate of snacks. We did it. I saw most people do it. I used a tray one morning to bring breakfast to my mom and dad in the room. (DD thought this was terrific!)

I believe you know what is "excessive" and you will be fine. Enjoy your Coke on the way to the park! :goodvibes

Wow!! I just wouldn't have the nerve to do that!:rotfl: Bummer! I wish I did!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Grannie Minnie, until just recent visits we haven't had any particularly good concierge greeting either! I used to be feeling like What's wrong with us?? :upsidedow Our CM friend was downstairs working in the gingerbread house when we were there for Thanksgiving, so she took care of everything for us. I am not sure what would have happened otherwise. I am happy we'll be with DH AND A CAR, :goodvibes when we check in before Easter because I always feel like a dork walking up empty handed and telling them I am checking into the RPC. :p

Happy day,

Lives4Disney :)

I have no idea what you are talking about

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Thanks for all the comments about taking food to my room. I just thought it would be nice to relax in the room and let DD eat her snacks and junk while I was getting ready. Also, grabbing a drink on the way out is way cool!!!

Thanks:grouphug:

Good Morning GF Lovers!!

You all are cracking me up with the Ebay shoe/purse talk. I, too, love my flip flops and can't wait for this stinking weather to co-operate (Channing- 9 more inches of snow today- WTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) I have 3 pairs from Guess that I love and adore (They have a nice wedge heel and the thingy between your toes is PVC not canvas, which can irritate my feet) I live in them in the summer and wore them through 10 days of WDW last year without issue! :thumbsup2

As for purses, I am a Dooney and Bourke gal myself :goodvibes

Thanks for all the wonderful advice on our room trip date dilemma. I called again yesterday and got a terrific CM. She checked with guest services about why I can't arrive a day before the discount code and start my package (at full price) for that night. They said the system wasn't smart enough to figure it out  So we booked a room only for Sat 12/6 and our package with dining, tickets etc. starts 12/7. We will hang by the pool and probably head over to the Boardwalk in the evening to see all the gingerbread displays, have some dinner and play some mini golf. DH and DS want to rent a Boston Whaler boat this year, so we will probably do that too. (Which means I am stuck with the dreaded 7am flight and 4:30 am limo pick up :faint:) Now maybe if I get REALLY lucky, an AP rate will come out to cover all of my days and I can just do that instead now that AP holders can buy dining...

Have a great day!
Kristin

4 more days to go :)

Questions - our flight arrives MCO around 13:00 and towncar will pick us up and a free grocery stop at Publix. I guess we should be at GF by 3:00pm. Dinner at Kona 18:30.

While DW will have a nap with baby, what should I do with DD4 in that 2-3 hour slack time? We might not want to swim on the first day of arrival? Any suggestions?

Would she like to go for a ride in one of the little mouse speed boats?? OR...my daughters always liked shopping in all the monorail resort stores. In some stores you can make little charm bracelets, key rings, crowns, etc. My daughters like doing that. In Basin, you can make your own lip gloss....ok she's probably too young but it's a novelty....my girls did it but they don't ever wear it, haha. Sometimes it's fun to monorail to the CR, go out the back door of the lobby and head to the boat dock & catch a boat over to the WL and look around. We like doing it that way - it's one of the smaller boats vs. the larger MK to WL boats - and it's kind of fun just to check out both the CR and the WL.

We always just like checking everything out. :goodvibes It's easy to kill an afternoon just doing that.

Enjoy!! HAve a a WONDERFUL time!pixiedust:

Kristen, I just picked DD11 up from school sick....she said teachers are talking about it being another snow day tomorrow. I am SO SICK OF WINTER....I took a walk yesterday and it was so nice. :-)

I would NEVER do this. I think that is soo rude.

Flip Flops - I like Rainbows (take a little while to break in if you don't wear flip flops alot), Reef and my fav is still Eliza B.(by Leatherman) - I've got a pair on now!

Big Groofy - I second shopping! DD likes going up to M. Mercantile and picking out a new charm for her bracelet and a new pin to get the trip started. She likes the new shops at the CR ,too!

As far as taking plates of food ,etc. from the concierge lounge, I almost always take a latte in a "to go" cup since I'm not a morning person! :scared: I might take a plate of something (breakfast) back to the room to eat while I get dressed since my family tells me I'm too slow to get ready! ::yes:: :bitelip: We return the plate on our way out to the parks.

We don't ask for full bottles of anything - just not us! They have plenty to go around in the lounge.:)

Just want to add my 2 cents on flip flops since I wear them 365 -- even in the snow. Eliza B has the prettiest selection. Vineyard Vines had the most comfortable -- they are like the GF and nothing else compares!

:rotfl2: I can see it now... CM's can you please set up a complimentary bar in my room for me :rotfl2:

Bartender is totally optional but would be nice ;)

But in their defense maybe they made special arrangements ahead of time with the CM? Maybe a bday or romantic special time?

OK, this reminded me!!!!!!! Love Boat season 1 comes out the first week in March!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: That makes my day!!!:cool1:

I am going to have to check into those Eliza B. flip flops...never heard of them!

Flip flops in the snow? Wow! :thumbsup2

We DO ask for a bottle of water for our room to go with the dixie cups I bring. ;)

Its snowing here again!:crazy2:

::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo I would like to know if anyone knows where the magic kingdon views are in the GF

those eilza flops must be wicked comfortable they are like 50 bucks

I was looking at them and thought HOW CUTE but I wear a size 11 shoe and I read they run one full size small.....no Eliza Bs for me.:guilty: Oh well, they are expensive for flip flops. but they are really really cute, too.

- you can check out the map of the resort on teh front of this thread....there are MK views in almost all the buildings....Sago, Conch, Boca Chica and Big Pine have MK Views & you can request a certain building. The main building concierge does have a few MK View rooms, but they are request only. Happy planning!

Lives4Disney

if you want to be close to the monorail you would want the main building thats all conierge
if not that then Sago is close

Hey! I was intrigued by all the talk about food on the concierge levels. We are hoping to upgrade and for the extra thousand bucks, I'm thinking if I want to wear a miniature tea cake like a hat and dance around singing Zippity Do Dah, they should let me!

Kidding aside, maybe someone can explain why it matters where you eat the food? I completely understand how standing in front of the scones and snarfing down all twenty of them would be bad (sort of). But taking plates back to the room? Please enlighten, oh masters of the RPC.

Tracy

ps - thanks for the education on flip flops! I can't wait to go check out all the brands mentioned.

Taking a reasonable amount of food back to your room is not a problem at all. There are some people who take advantage. The only place I ever expereience this was at AKL CL, where they had just put out breakfast offerings, and one lady took all of several things (including the milk in the refrigerator) and then left the lounge. She was balencing two GIANT trays (the milk was all stuffed in her bulging backpack!) There were some crumbs left for everyone else, and the lounge CMs did nothing to replace it. :guilty: Luckily, I did not have this problem at the GF. :thumbsup2

Also, I think some people don't realixe you can take food from the lounge. We stayed at BW on our last trip, and I stopped in to get a soda for BF and a cokkie for me on our way to MGM. This guy sneered at me and got all rude and mad :rolleyes2 . He even told on me, over a cookie and a soda! :confused3 The lady in the lounge told him that he was welcome to take some things too if he would like! :rotfl2:

See that is what I was worried about... having a confronation with someone for allowing my little angel to bring her snack to the room or us grabbing a drink on the way out to the pool :sad2:
