:cool1: Enjoy your stay at GF ....
Thanks Linda

Sounds like a plan!:cool1:
I know right???? Let me know if it works when you're there :goodvibes

In a handful of days I will be checking in for my first stay at the Grand! :cool1: I have diligently been making my way through this thread and I thank everyone for all the wonderful information. With only a few days left and a lot of pages to go, I apologize if this question has already been asked. Is there a way to hear the music from Wishes when we are watching the fireworks from our balcony?

Yay for your upcoming trip :yay: IDK the answer for you. They did pipe in music at the dock for Wishes :lovestruc You're asking about a TV channel like at CR, right? One of the Grand peeps here will know the answer for you!!!

Realistically you probably won't be able to hear the WISHES music. It is piped in on the boat dock & Narcoossees area and outside Gaspirallas. I would think there may be a few rooms you can hear the music, but unless your balcony is close to one of those areas, probably not.

LittleSinkerbelle and bethclayton, I echo your sentiment. Soooo excited for my trip. It is now time to get serious around here, I leave on a early flight Friday morning!

pas,:wave2: I like your ticker change! You are HRH are going to be so happy to get in some GF time :cloud9:

Woohoo, you're almost there! I still have to get through this weekend but at least I have DD's birthday party to keep me busy :upsidedow:crazy2:. Sunday is going to be crunch time!!:rotfl:

Hello, Grand afficionados!!:goodvibes I hope you all had a great Easter weekend, I have been quite busy with all the kids and their pets home this week. DD headed back to college last night, my middle DS and his fiance will be on their way home to St. Louis today and I'll have my oldest DS here for a couple days yet.:cloud9:

I've skimmed the last couple pages, looks like our resident experts have kept up with all questions. I'll try to go back and read more thoroughly in case anything was missed.:thumbsup2

We're thinking of returning to the GF in September. Has anyone got any insight into how far along the construction will be by then or how much beach access will be available? I don't mind for myself, but some other family members are concerned. Thanks!

It's nearly impossible to determine how far along they will get in any particular month, as Disney rarely releases a timeline and construction can run into any number of delays - or, things could go smooth and they could accomplish more than expected. I'm guessing they'll be well into the building itself by then, but am only basing that on previous WDW construction.

I hope the beach is not due to be blocked off for the entire summer, but have no idea why it is blocked now.

What is the difference between a outer bldg - garden view and a outer bldg deluxe room garden view ?

Both garden views, but different type of room.

It's my understanding that the Deluxe room outer bldg used to be the Lodge Tower room, which is a standard room with an additional sitting room/area. It's now the Deluxe Room Outer Bldg Garden View. That's a mouthful!

I think the WDW website description still has the words Lodge Tower in the description when you try and reserve that room.

Very good response, Lisann! For reference, here is a link to photos of that type of room in the Sugar Loaf building, prior to the 2007 decor renovations. The sofa no longer folds out, I'm told, but you can ask for a rollaway. Scroll down to post #25: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2427062&page=2

In poking around the 'net today, I found this blog post from 4/5 with some more photos of the construction as well as a link to a video with some footage of the construction from various angles. I know there are a few of us getting there real soon and if you're like me, interested in prepping yourself for what it'll look like.

I hope it's okay to post the link here:

Thanks for this - I hadn't looked at the updates on mousesteps recently, when I get time I'll look more closely.:thumbsup2

Thank you for posting these. We are going to the GF for the first time on the 19th, after our cruise. While I would prefer no construction, it doesn't look too bad and certainly won't ruin our stay!:)

Welcome!:yay: Congrats on your first GF stay, I hope you love the resort, even with the construction.

So here are my thoughts....I miss the GF a LOT. We are staying at the Poly ....so why not book a few nights GV on Memorial Day weekend before we move over to the Poly..... Could we be lucky enough to get the slide to ourselves :cloud9: Is it wrong that I want the construction to keep others away.....

just kidding, or am I?????

A few days at the GF - yay! LOL about wanting others to stay away.;)

Does anyone know if the construction is effecting Narcoossee's? I've been trying for months (since my 180 day mark) to get a reservation for July and it keeps saying there is no availability.

I was able to secure a reservation for the 20th of this month, a few weeks ago. That was after a few days of trying. Must be free dining!

There shouldn't be any direct link between the construction and Narcoossee's reservations, not sure why it is so hard to book. We often have more trouble getting a table there than, say, Citricos - but not that far out! I wonder if there is some event that is keeping a whole block of reservations offline?

ME, TOO!!! ME, TOO!!! :cool1:  :cloud9: :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

we can hardly contain ourselves over here!!!!

Can't believe you are all soooo close!:cool1::cool1: Did I miss anyone?! So many of you heading to the GF in less than a week.:cloud9:

22 days for us! :cheer2:

Another week closer to my stay at GF. I can't wait for May!

April will be gone before we know it, getting closer!

That sounds awesome! :cool1: Congrats on the changes!

So I did something silly today - I tracked our flight number to see if it's been running on time the past couple of days. It left 2.5 hours late today . So late, in fact, that the flight that leaves 2 hours later got in before this flight:mad::headache:. Of course now I'm a nervous wreck worrying about the same thing happening to us. I swear I give myself things to worry about:crazy2::crazy2::crazy2:!

Hi there!

These may have been answered somewhere and i just missed it so....

We are returning to the Grand in Nov of this year.

I have 2 questions:
1. When we were there in the the spring of '09, we had a beautiful corner room in Boca Chica overlooking Narcoosie. Is this a room type you can book or is it luck of the draw, so to speak?
2. The daybed - I can't remember. How big is it and how comfortable? My son slept on it 3 years ago with no problem but he is quite a bit bigger now. My mom is coming with us so we will need to use it.

Thanks!

Thank you for the information. Does anyone know if the music is available for download?

There was a CD available with the soundtrack at one time, so I would guess it's somewhere.

I was going to mention this, too; there is a CD of Wishes music available at many WDW gift shops. If you can't find it to download, you can probably pop over to Sandy Cove and purchase it.

Aww, thanks for both compliments, very sweet. Way to go on the RPC addition. LOL about your DH and his resignation - a beer and a pool sounds like a plan.;)

I know what you mean, I often put more stress on myself with this kind of detail. Have you checked the overall on time record for your flight? If it is generally good, I doubt you'll have anything like that kind of delay. I know how it can play on you, though; we had one incident of a final flight of the day cancellation, and we've avoided the last flight since then.:scared:

From all I've heard, getting a corner room is luck of the draw. You can request it, but they are hard to come by.

For the daybed question: they seem like a decent size to me, but I've never had to sleep on one, lol. My DD and I have each napped there, and we are adults, so it gives the impression of enough room for a child. Have you looked at the photos on the first page? Here is a photo of the daybed in its sofa form - maybe someone can post a photo of it made up for bedtime?

Hey, good idea - I forgot that I can see that on JetBlue's site. I just checked and it had a 100% on time record as of February (guess not after today though:laughing:). Hopefully it was a fluke!
