Wow, k&a&c'smom..you are sooooooo helpful. I sent off your second post with all the extra advice and helpful pictures to my son, and he has already emailed me back asking me to thank you on behalf of them. I'm also thanking you again for helping out my son! (it's a 'mom' thing...I love it when others are so nice to my son!!!)

You are very welcome, I hope the info is helpful. If you have any further questions, or they do, don't hesitate to ask - everyone here is very knowledgeable.

I know what you mean about the mom thing, btw, I always appreciate it when someone helps out my kids, too.

Is there any chance that there will be any noise or unsightfull:goodvibes views from SL during the construction of the DVC at Poly??? I'll need to chance my resv. if that is a possibility. Please help, one and all

I don't think you'll have anything to worry about in regard to the view. Due to the location of the SL building, it would be difficult to see much (if any!) of the construction near the Wedding Pavilion and Spa. Check out the map on the first page of this thread - the wedding pavilion is the red square near the bottom of the left side of the map, Sugar Loaf is the rectangle in the center of the dark pink buildings, closer to the top of the map.:flower3:

Oh Thanks so much. We are the change twice a day people, sometimes three and being there for 8 nights, definitely have to do some laundry.

Almost 2 hours later and we finally revised our dining plan.:faint: One would think that I would have held onto all the previous ones, but no, we said that we weren't going to change again.:crazy2:

I know exactly what you mean - we change clothes a lot, too, so I always have to do laundry. I've made the rounds of WDW laundry rooms over the years!

Good going on revising your dining plans - always takes some work, whenever and wherever a change is made! I often have to tinker with mine, even when only park hours change.:headache:

Love the outside shot August2010. We were in Boca Chica this past summer and had a great time.

KC Mike - thanks! Not exactly art photos, but they do give a decent representation of the views in those rooms!

Enjoying all your photos, as always.:thumbsup2

August2010 - Welcome!:goodvibes Thanks so much for those photos, someone recently asked for TPV shots. Very nice!

Hope you had a magical stay.:dance3:

Good Morning Everyone, Great pictures August2010 & KCmike.:thumbsup2

I never did laundry while on vacation and used to over pack with so many clothes, it wasn't funny. We used to use 3 gigantic suit case filled with clothes and just at the 50lb mark so I would get charged for the overage. But after staying at BLT last year and going home with clean clothes was pure :cloud9: I will never go home with dirty clothes again and I won't have to over pack next year. Well maybe just a little for myself as I always do anyway.:lmao: The guys are easy.

My DM and I went on a mother/daughter trip last August to the YC and we took carry on's for the first time, it was amazing. We didn't have to go retrieve our luggage and we were on our way within 7 minutes of leaving the plane. We also took carry on's with us this past June and we will never take full size luggage again.

Oh, I also forgot to ask yesterday, do we need our key to get into the Conch Key building? TIA:flower3:

How long will you be at SL? We check in to SL on the 26th!
Your trip is so close, and I am sooooo glad you will make it down. I think the Grand is exactly what the Doctor ordered :goodvibes I am amazed that I loved it there way more than I anticipated. Say hi to disneydreamin247 for me, she will be easy to pick out- she will have the beautiful baby Princess Lily in her arms :lovestruc

Hey Everyone, After much discussion about the construction that's going on at the GF and missing the GF so much, we have decided to switch back and stay the GF for the whole time for our June 2012 trip. So no split stay for us next year, but in a way I am glad about it. We are very excited to be coming home again and can't wait. Just 289 more days.:lmao: Off to re-do our meal plan and change my tickers.:hippie:
 Very cool!

pas130 - congrats on your GF suite booking!:lovestruc Very exciting!
Thank you, I can't wait :thumbsup2

s&k'smom Time flies, and you will be there soon :worship:

You won't need you key to get into Conch Key. I didn't mind going into another building to do laundry...more sightseeing for me. They lock the building after 11pm (I was there at 10pm) so IDK if your SL key will unlock it after then. And congrats on your switch to SL!

disneydreamin247 Let me single digit dance for you my friend! :dance3:

Hi everyone! We have our first GF stay coming up in just over a month. Just curious about a couple of things. In the room description it says some rooms have daybeds. How likely is it that we will have a daybed? Our boys 10 and 14 do not like to sleep together, so I'm hoping we will have one. Also, I read that there are a couple of washer/dryers in each building. Is it difficult to catch a machine open?

I will always be chasing a 7 year old monster and constantly rolling my eyes at my parents like a 16 year old :rotfl:

Thanks for dancing with me sister Pas! :dance3:

Oh, that would be fun to see another GF/Dis fan in the lounge! I will keep any eye out for someone with a little princess. have you stayed in SL before? It is wonderful!

This will be our first stay at the Grand. :lovestruc

My parents have never stayed on Disney property before so I'm taking them in style to get them hooked. ;) I was shocked when my mother requested the Grand. Perhaps it has something to do with me footing the bill? :confused3

Welcome!:goodvibes Your GF trip is nearly here, very exciting!

You are far more likely to have a daybed than not - there are few rooms without one at the GF. The dormer rooms used to be without a daybed, but after the 2007 renovations, most of those even have one, now. What room category do you have?

I've rarely had to wait for a machine if I go in the off hours. Meaning, the hours when most people want to be in the parks or elsewhere, lol. I usually do laundry in the early or mid-morning.

CoachBagFanatic - I used to be a serious over-packer, too! We drove down in the early years, as my husband and oldest son are afraid to fly. Having our own car meant I could pack and pack and pack...

A few years ago, DD and I began our mother/daughter trips, and we often brought only carry on bags. You are so right, it feels great to walk off the plane directly to the transportation!:goodvibes

mom of 3G's - oh, good, I'm glad you have seen the photos!:thumbsup2 My brain doesn't cooperate as well these days, I used to remember who said what, and when.;)

disneydreamin247 - I'll join in the dance, too.:banana::cool1::banana:

I forgot to mention Danimal :rotfl: The CMs were great interacting with my kiddos. And I'll dance with ya some more :dogdance:

Our room category is GV right now. It was the only thing available when I booked, but I keep checking for cancellations. I waited until Aug. to book not realizing that the PGA tournament had moved up to October this year.

I tend to do laundry in the middle of the week in the afternoon. I have done laundry at the Poly many times, but they have one location with several machines. I like the idea of not having to leave the building to do laundry.

Thanks for your help!

Well, he won't bein my arms! :rotfl: this is his first trip without a stroller. He already threatened to refuse to leave the room. :sad2:

Is the light show at Epcot and where can I view it from at the Grand Floridian, anywhere along the water or a specific area?
