I'll try to help a bit. There are very few rooms at the GF without balconies or first floor enclosed patios/porches. The only ones of which I'm aware are not TPV rooms. There are some deluxe king room in Royal Palm Club without balconies as well as a few deluxe rooms in outer lodges without a balcony.

Not sure about any TPV rooms with blocked views. I only remember reading of blocked views when people were upgraded. Our them park view room had a stunning view of the MK with nothing blocking the view.

Club level rooms are only located in the main building (Royal Palm Club) and Sugar Loaf. So there are dormer rooms in other buildings that are TPV. We've never had a dormer balcony at the GF and it wouldn't be my first choice but if you prefer it, ask for it. :goodvibes I'd request Conch Key or Sago Cay.

Happy planning. It sounds like great fun. :surfweb:

Thank you so much for your replay. Much appreciated!

Thanks for the info! :thumbsup2

My pleasure.:flower3: Oh I forgot to add that sometimes my DH would go down about 10 minutes before we were ready to leave and request one as well. He smokes so anything for him to go outside. Still trying after 28 years to get him to quit.:furious:

I haven't read any live reports about the monorail operations but there is a thread on the DVC forums about it. Someone was contacted by Member Services to clarify. The monorail will operate until at least 11pm every night according to this poster's info:

I suspect this was always the plan. :surfweb:

LOVE THIS PHOTO! I am such a balcony girl! Wish I was sitting there right now!

KCmike, I love the B&W photos. They are so pretty especially the balcony one. That is one of the reasons why we love the GF so much is for the full balcony's. In 2008 my DH wanted to request a room on the top floor of the SL (couldn't get RPC) not realizing they had dormer rooms. I was so disappointed that the balcony was so small and closed in but the room felt so big. But I have to say just as long as we were at the GF I got over it real fast.

Another fan of the balconies here. Love the shot, Mike. :surfweb:

The balcony is the best part, gosh when we were there last year, I would sit out with my coffee while the others slept and watch the monorail go by, heaven!

Hello,

Opinions are needed. We leave for GF in Sept. and my hope is to get Conch Key. We are booked GV. Wondering if you would reqest Marina side or other side of building for your view?

Conch Key is my husband's favorite building I believe we were in 7202 and our balcony faced the court yard with the pool towards the right and the marina the left, what he liked about it was you could watch the people go by and hear the wolf howling from the Haunted Mansion.

Good morning to all! Great Thread with super pics:thumbsup2:thumbsup2! Had an excellent time in Feb. of this year in a beautiful dormer room in BPK overlooking the pool with a fireworks view! :wizard::wizard:Outstanding!:love: Thanks for all you do:worship::worship:

DD19 and DS16 want to try the SAB pool, so we will give YC a try.

Enjoy your day everyone:wizard::wizard:

Ok this has me excited as we were very disappointed one year while staying at the GF to learn that they stopped the wolf howling as they were getting too many complaints. Did they bring this back? This was one of our favorite parts about sitting on our balcony.

Glad to hear that you had a great time in Feb. I have to say that my DH convinced me to stay at the YC in 2007. I did not go willing as the GF is my favorite resort. I have to say, we had a great time and the YC is lovely. SAB is great and the close proximity to Epcot and DHS is great as well. I have since stayed there again last August with my Mom and she loved it.

I'm at 100 days out! :yay: And tomorrow I get to do the double-digit dance...I'M SO EXCITED. :woohoo:

Also, all the pics posted are helping time fly...thanks! ;)

We truly had a excellent time at the Grand! Unfortunately, at the time, my DD19 was not with us:sad2::sad2:,but YC seems to be a fun place to try something new.

Thanks for your comments, makes me feel better about it.:goodvibes:goodvibes
