BCV23 posted that it is once a week. I was posting that I wasn't sure how often it was performed, sorry for the confusion.

Thank you for clearing that up! :goodvibes

I'll ask at check in, or maybe even stop there en route to OKW on arrival day to find out what day it happens on. It looks so cute from the picture that I don't want to miss it! :goodvibes

 Maybe IPO would know?

For all those folks who are heading to the GF, here's an early morning shot. I wish I was heading there soon. Alas, it will be another year for me to wait.

Well, folks - all these lovely photos of my favorite home-away-from-home have me thinking I need to look at my own pics and post some myself!

I'll be back...

:sunny:

janeapplemeadow, love the picture.:cloud9: It so makes me wish I were one of those people walking around. Well not in long sleeves and pants of course but shorts and a tee shirt. :lmao:

I love this one - it's from our room in Conch Key, and looking to the right, it's the sunrise over Narcoossee's...

I also love this view from the quiet pool...

Oh phyllis1966, that first picture is simply breathtaking.:cloud9: I don't want to rush my life away but next June seems so far away.

Thanks! DH and I never get tired of photographing the GF!

I know what you mean about wishing the days away until your next vacation - that's how I always feel - like I'm almost wishing away the summer until November arrives. I have to try really hard not to think too much about WDW until dreaded September comes (I hate when school starts again - almost as much as my daughter!)...

My DH is the same way. He always gets up early even on vacation and will go around and just take pictures.

I don't like September either #1 my b-day is in September :scared1:, #2 that means fall/winter is right around the corner:sad2: and #3 my son will be a sophomore in HS. I am not a winter person at all. That's why I love FLA so much as the warmer the better from me. Oh I just realized, you are from NJ. Hey neighbor.

Phyllis1966, great photos. At least I'm not the only crazy person up at the crack of dawn while I'm on vacation. I try to sleep in, but I'm up at 4:30 am every morning to get the hardware store open, so I wake up naturally. I just love roaming around the GF in the early morning hours. Looking forward to more of your photos.

Add me to the early morning club, I too and up around 4:30 am so I take my coffee cup and video camera and go out venturing while the rest of the family is sleeping.

Ok everyone being up early including my DH reminds me of a funny story.

Back in 2006 we invited my parents with us to stay at the GF RPC. Now my mom and dad have never been on a vacation before. With that being said, I think my DM and my DH were the first one's to the coffee. At that time, you could smoke outside on the terrace so my DM was having a smoke (which she quite in 2007):yay:. My DH saw my DM outside so he went to join her for a smoke. He opened the door to see her with rollers in her hair (yes old school) and a coffee stain down her shirt because her cup had a hole in it. He said good morning and turned around and came back to the room. He told me what happened and thank goodness I was not there because I would have lost it.:lmao::rotfl: I said to him did you tell her she spilled coffee on her shirt and about her rollers, he said no and just started to laugh. They do this to each other all the time. I went to go and find her but she was already back in her room which was next to ours. I explained to her about the rollers and she understood. Needless to say she slapped my DH when she saw him for not telling her about the rollers as well as the coffee stain on her shirt. We talk about this all the time.

Even great friends can disagree, right?! Wouldn't the world be a boring place if we all thought the same way on everything?

So true.

What a fun GF memory for your family. :grouphug:

I thought I was an early bird since I'm usually up around 6. The rest of you put me to shame. :rolleyes1

Mike, Jane and Phyllis thanks so much for sharing your photos. Ah, miss the GF.

Coachbagfanatic - I might have to call and check my reservations and make sure those things are listed.

K&a&c'smom- thanks for the check in info. I was thinking to skip it just in case I have questions.

BamaTigger- just  the pics.

DisneyFairy19 - thanks for the wishes

If I left anyone out.....forgive me. I have been out of touch these last few days.

Beautiful pictures can't with to be there in 3 weeks!!!

To anyone who has done online check in is there a way to tell what room/ building you get when you do it?

Funny how a week can go by so fast at the GF and the other 51 weeks to get back there are soooo long!

Our trip was wonderful. We stayed in room 4401. Had a great view of the fire works at night, except for a bit of the palm tree on the left side of the balcony. Our room was ready for us when we arrived at 11 a.m.

CoachBagFanatic - my DS (15) wore sneakers to the Cali Grill on Friday night and nothing was said about that. At Citricos last year, DS did not have a shirt with a collar on and they told him he need one. He went back to the room and changed. This year, I did see folks with T-shirts on, so I don't know what the dress code is for shirts now.

On Monday, DH spilled an entire cup of coffee all down the front of his white shirt (told him not to bring white) and all over the floor in the lounge. Had to buy him a new shirt to go home. I think he did that on purpose so that he could get a Mickey Mouse golf shirt!

The weather the first three days was beautiful. It was in the high 80's with a breeze. It was cooler the entire time we were in Florida then in Connecticui. This happens every year!

Lulu'sMom and JungleCruiser - I hope that you are both feeling better. My FIL is doing much better - the brain scan yesterday showed normal!

Welcome home! Glad you had a great trip, and sooooo glad FIL is doing better!

No, you learn nothing until you check in. Sorry.

MommyGina, that is fantastic news about your FIL. Amazing recovery. I'm glad you enjoyed your trip so much and thank goodness you were able to go.

I'm surprised about the need for a collared shirt. That requirement changed a few years back I thought although it does say something about Tshirts....not graphic or something like that? My guys always wear collared shirts but I thought plain tees were perfectly acceptable now.

CoachBagFanatic, our younger son almost always wear sneakers to CG and it's never been an issue. He does wear a collared shirt.

In person check i it is then.

I also wanted to give a big thank you to everyone who was gushing about the cabanas, we just booked a 1/2 day for they day we leave :banana:

MommyGina Glad you had a great time at the GF and yes it does go by super fast. Also, thanks for the info about the sneakers. Trying to find dress shoes that fit my DS's orthotics is a pain in the you know what. We do have collared shirts for him to wear as well.

From reading your post, I wish your F-I-L the best.:grouphug:

BCV23, I am glad to see that others have worn sneakers to these restaurants. Makes me feel much better now and that I don't have to look all over gods creation for a pair of dress shoes just for vacation.:flower3:
