After changing the resort for my last 2 nights of my November trip way too many times to be considered 'normal' :lmao: I've finally finally settled on the GF. I'm staying BC CL for the first week for F&W before moving over to the GF (the idea being eating at V&As, plus spending some serious spa time relaxing), I've gone for a theme park view as opposed to a CL room as I just felt I wouldn't really get any benefit for my last 2 nights, I'd appreciate some advice please on the preferred location for a theme park view room? I've only stayed at the GF once before, at the RPC, so don't really have a handle on the lodges.

Thanks :goodvibes

Are you tweaking again Clare :goodvibes

I think you made the right choice going back to the GF and I'm really looking forward to spending our last two nights there too

Hi Jakki :wave2:

Yes, just a little tweak lol - but this time it's due to a friend joining me :)

I know you love the Contemporary but I think you will equally (or a little more even) love the GF RPC :goodvibes

Hi all!

For those of you who have stayed both RPC and SL, is SL just as "good" as RPC as far as the food offerings?

Specifically, do they have that wonderful meat assortment as part of the breakfast items and the special cream cheeses? And do they do the same afternoon tea? :worship:

Thanks! :goodvibes I'm thinking of switching (surprise surprise) from AKL CL to GF SL and need a little input. :goodvibes

kaffinito - :wave2:SL has all the same food offerings as RPC!:thumbsup2 If that is all you are concerned about, have no fear and run to book SL.;)

The only real difference between the two is location, which affects ambiance. The food/drinks are the same, IPO the same, even some of the same cast members work in both areas. I love RPC for the look and feel of the lounge and being in the main building, but SL is a great value.

Hi back :wave2: and thanks!

I was a little worried about the offerings. :flower3:

I wouldn't mind booking RPC again, but only SL is available for my dates with the discount. Besides, I'd kind of like to try it out. :goodvibes

Of course my :snooty: 18 year old is still lobbying for RPC... :teeth:

I was speaking to mom about our trip tonight, as tomorrow is her birthday AND our double digit dance. I'm so happy to see her looking forward to her first stay on Disney property. I'm super excited to be able to give her a stay at the Grand for her very first trip. It just feels so special.

kaffinito - LOL! I don't blame him, I would be, too! We also love SL, though, so it's not tooo disappointing.;)

disneydreamin247 - Happy Birthday to your mom!:bday: I'm excited for you! You are going to have a magical time.

How's the new baby?:cutie:

k&a&c'smom Thanks!!!! She is a doll. I'm so sad that she's already 3 months. It makes me want another one ASAP lol. I can't wait for her first trip to see Mickey! (even though everyone keeps telling me I'm crazy for bringing her at such a young age )

Awww, so sweet.:lovestruc

Only you can decide whether you are ready to take her on vacation, no one else. To me, it's about whether the parents can handle it, rather than the children. I did not take my kids to WDW until the youngest was 6, but that was more for my sanity than anything.;) Oh, and the proverbial, "this will be a once in a lifetime trip..."!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I agree only you can decide. Everyone thought my son was to young when he went for the first time, he was 2. But I thought it was a great time. I say enjoy!

Hello!

We are going to arrive at WDW around 7:00 AM, but check in at the GF until 3:00PM.

We have an 8:15 reservation at Crystal Palace before MK opens that morning.

Should we park at TTC that morning, or can we go ahead and park at the GF?

Thank you! :goodvibes

Definitely park at the GF. Even though your room might not be ready, you can check-in and park and if you're staying CL, you will have access to the lounge:goodvibes

LittleMissMagic - Welcome!:goodvibes As WDWKOOK has said, even though the official check in time is 3:00 p.m., you can park your car and leave your bags with bell services. Check in and get your room keys and packet, and then hop the monorail to the MK for your breakfast reservation.

They will text or call you when your room is ready, and you can head back to the room and call for your bags.:thumbsup2

KC Mike - Awesome shot!

Good morning! :goodvibes
I have a question-

when we arrive it is going to be late- like close to midnight probably by the time we get to the hotel. We're staying in SL- will I have to check in at the front desk?

Thanks so much!

I have never checked in that late to SL, but I would expect that you will have to check in at the front desk in the lobby. The concierge CM in SL leave around 10pm, so there would be no one in SL tto assist you. However, at that hour it will probably be just as fast to do it in the main lobby anyway.

That's what I thought the case would be. Thanks! :goodvibes
