The pool at night picture Is spectacular!! Thanks so much KCmike for taking the time to post these.

This picture is like looking at glass. The water is so smooth and serene looking. Fantastic shot. Thanks so much, janeapplemeadow!

KC Mike - another beautiful shot, and one I don't often see.:goodvibes

Love the pics<3! Ive been there when I was a kid and Miss that Place gotta check out plane tickets!!! xx

:welcome: Glad you've joined us! Isn't the GF wonderful.:lovestruc

Good luck with flight pricing.

Im really mad that the Grand Floridian is Sold out i wanted to switch resorts, I find it hard too believe the most expensive resort in wdw is completely sold out from August 1st-15th It makes no sense

Rooms Suddenly come available for Free Dining?

:welcome:

Even though the GF is the most expensive, it does sell out periodically. I'm a bit surprised it would sell out during free dining, as that is not a good value vs. a room discount - but it's possible.

I just played around with your dates in the WDW booking window, and it looks like the only dates that are sold out at rack rate are August 2-3-4 & 9. I was able to pull up August 1, 5-8, and 10-15, and most of those days had all categories open.

KCmike - Love the monorail shot. Looks like it should be the front of a GF postcard! I can't believe the picture comes out that good through the window. Did you have to do anything special shooting through the window?

We will be at the GF in about 11 days, we are staying cl for the first time. When we drive into the gate my husband prefers self park, is there an area he can pull up close to the entrance for me and the kids to unload and grab the bags?

No I took several and picked the best one. If you could see some of the others you would think that they never clean they glass! :rotfl2:

Thanks everyone for the nice comments once again. It's very much appreciated. I know when I'm planning a trip I enjoy and get excited when I see photos of the resort. It's always a little sad when you get home. Thankfully I have these shots to keep me going till next time.

Welcome!:goodvibes You certainly may pull up to the porte cochere, unload your bags and there should be a CL CM waiting to escort you to either the upper floors of the main building (if you've booked main bldg. CL) or out to the Sugar Loaf building (if you've booked outer bldg. CL). You may leave your bags with the bell services staff, or take it with you, whichever you prefer - though your room may not be ready. I prefer leaving it with bell services, but if you prefer not using it, you can ask your CL escort if your room is ready.

Here is a link to an aerial map of the GF - the grey self parking is across Floridian Way (scroll to the left in the map), the big black parking area in front of the resort is for valet. (there is a smaller grey parking area at the top of the map, that is for the Convention Center) http://www.bing.com/maps/default.as...&lvl=1&tilt=-90&dir=0&alt=-1000&scene=5219444

We are not staying CL :sad1: for our stay in September. Will there be a luggage cart or something available to transport our bags ourselves to our room, or can we have a bellman bring them? Otherwise, it's gonna be a long walk from self-park!

Welcome!:goodvibes

You do not have to stay CL to get luggage assistance, or to use the entrance to unload bags. My response specifically mentioned CL to give the most relevent info to ozzyla.

All guests receive assistance from bell services, if they choose, and can either valet ($12/day, and you get valet service at any resort) or self-park. Do not park in self-park and try to drag your luggage across the roadway - that would be a chore!:headache: Pull up under the porte cochere, unload your bags and either take them inside with you while you check in, or leave them with bell services until your room is ready. While one of you is checking in, the other can be parking the car, and walk over to the entrance.:thumbsup2

Keep in mind, you do not have to stay CL to have a fantastic stay at the GF. It is a nice splurge, but we often stay in garden view, and have a wonderful time.

Hi everyone!

21 LONG days until I am enjoying my saty at GF:banana::banana::banana:. The wait is driving me crazy.

My mom finally figured out her surprise :yay:(with a lot of help from Google)

You know how a child gets on Christmas morning when they open their gifts? Well, thats how she was. She laughed  then cryed:scared:. When I let her know we were staying CL she really lost it & started to talk about all the clothes she was going to have to buy for her stay at GF. (any excuse to go shopping). And of course that's when my father lost it.:scared1:

Then she ran in the bathroom to shower. I think from all the excitement she had an accident! :rotfl2:
Just Kidding!

I can't wait!!! this will be a truely Magical vacationpixiedust:

I am sorry if this has already been asked ( i looked) Does the GF have a late check out???

:rotfl: That is so cool! What a great way to surprise her! :goodvibes

And just think, if she's this excited now, she'll really have an accident when you check in.

KCmike those are great pictures of the water slide!!! I didn't realize it was so big. My DD (and probably DH will have a fantastic time with that)

It's a kind of random thing. You need to ask them at the time. Depending on how busy they are, they will allow it. I've done it once, but usually they set the time around 1pm.

I have a quick question. I have seen on another thread that the offering at Sugarloaf or different than those at RPC. But on this thread I thought I saw that they were both the same. So which is correct?:confused3

Good morning catyanna. Oh how exciting for your mom. My mom was like that when she found out that we were staying at the GF. We did go out and buy new clothes too! LOL.

The offerings are the same in RPC and in SL. However, I have only stayed in SL. We, keep your fingers crossed, will be in RPC in 10 days. I'll report back and let you know.

Keep smiling!
