I love the theme of the YC room! Really nice!

Also OT, I'm just curious, what is the current "promotion" at all the stores? I saw your tote bag & we got that last time...I am hoping they come up with something new & different before we go. We got the bag :thumbsup2 and the throw :sad2: in March. Just wondering....

Channing, thanks for the great pictures - I'm staying for the first time at the RPC this December for a week and seeing your pictures makes me even more excited. :cool1:

Hi everyone, I'm new to this thread. We will be staying at The GF for 7 nights from Aug 23rd to Aug 30th as part of our Honeymoon. I have a question about Private Dining. When I called on Wed, I was told that Private Dining was only offered in your room now, is this correct? The thing is we have a standard room booked and we have never stayed here before so don't really know the layout etc. Do all rooms have balconys? Is there any room I should try and request? For the private dining, unless we could have the meal on the balcony with a view of the fireworks, I don't think it seems worth it. The menu looks very limited, can anyone advise. I would have loved to do this as a surprise for my DF.
I have tried looking through this thread, but it's so long, I was also looking for interior pics of rooms, I'm a bit of a color freak(don't like mismatched colors:rolleyes: ), should I try and request a newly rehabed room, if there are any standard ones?

Thanks for any advice

Kelly & Channing! Thank you very much for ALL of the wonderful pictures!!! :goodvibes You guys are awesome! Hey, what about a picture of you two, together? Did you take one when you met at the GF?

...going back to look at the pictures one more time... :cloud9: Thanks again!

-Michelle

Thanks...I have enjoyed all the photos that have been posted as of late...especially "surprise" YC ones:)

No parking lot or dumpster views at the GF.

Wouldn't you know that we're one of the few people to have ever gotten a dumpster view at the GF? It was when we stayed in Conch Key - we could clearly see the dumpster/backstage area. Blech... I really think they should call that a "standard view" not Garden View. We've been in Conch Key before & gotten marina views, so I don't know what was up with sticking us with the dud view! After that, we always stay RPC - I told my husband I wasn't ever again going to pay over $300/night for a dumpster to intrude itself into my line of vision :) I'd just as soon pay $600/night and get a decent view, as well as those heavenly sounds of the orchestra.

Cheers!

Summer-Caitlin, are you staying RPC, or in one of the outer buildings? If you have a regular, gardenview room booked, then you probably won't have a fireworks view from your balcony, unless you upgrade to theme park view.

Most, but not all, of the rooms have balconies. The tower rooms are larger rooms, but don't have the balcony area.

Cheers!

You all are doing better than me - I still haven't figured out how to even post pictures!!

I miss that GF lounge!5 more months!

Great pics ladies. I guess I had it in my head that one of you was staying in SL..but it looks like you were both at the RPC in the main building...very nice.
Just wondering if you heard any whisperings about SL and their services while you were there..

hmp2z - I have no clue where we are staying. We were due to stay at AKL, but because of construction we moved. As far as I know we have a Standard room booked, not sure where, I was hoping to put in a request for something.

nope I stayed sugar loaf
all of my pics were of the tower room 6220 and it had a balcony
all of my lounge pics were of sugar loaf
If you are staying sugar loaf look for Robert he is the best!

Hi. Great pics thanks for sharing! I have a few Qs:

- in these pics, it looks like the top floor balconies are much larger- is that the case? Are these rooms available in all categories?

- I have a garden view and really want a water view. is it only the sago building that offers these water views. In other buildings, does "garden" face the inner courtyard like in these pics? I dn't like that courtyard view personally because there is so much less privacy on the balcony.

- room colors. I absolutely HATE the color blue and don't love florals. Are there diferent colors/patterns in each building?

Thaks for helping out a GF "virgin" ;)

Channing, Wonderful pictures! That is the chocolate plate I am ordering, but haven't decided on which character! The plate and cake looked delicious.
Your kids are darling! I look at your DS and think how close I am to the teenage stage-scary! (but, I'm sure it has lots of good parts, right?):)
We are just about over the character meals too! I definitely hear you on the screaming children! We are only doing 1900 for breakfast (crossing fingers it is good) and CRT (we have never done this one before).
I cannot believe our vacation starts tomorrow! We will take the dogs to the kennel  and drive over to Pittsburgh for the afternoon/evening. We really like Pit,; it is a fun little city and has my all time favorite Greek restaurant (shameless plug coming) Christo's. It is soooo good. Then we will stay in an airport hotel with park and ride, so we can easily make our 7:45 am flight!
I will try and take a lot of pictures to post too.

Great pics Channing! Thanks for posting! I loved the chocolates and the Tink cake!!

We are doing the Cindy dinner for the first time ths year (DS4 is in love with Cinderella and I refuse to go to the castle again - too crowded-too rushed etc.) We are going during the rehab so it is at GFC not 1900. Looking forward to seeing some of the reviews of it since I believe that started this week. :confused3

I will certainly look for Robert..he seems terrific!

Denise, that $70 was for the whole thing.

Here's the YC pics.....if somebody doesn't like it they don't have to look.

I know this isn't the place but...
Is this really a garden view room??

I had a lagoon view at the BC in 2005 and my view would have faced your room.
I had to look to the left to the see the water.
I had to ask them if that was really a water view because you
could only see the lagoon if
you stretched your head over the balcony and to the left.
They mentioned that the water of SAB counted but that could barely be seen.

Here are my views from my lagoon view.

to the left; and that balcony in this pic is from another room that blocked our view.
