I love eggs benedict too! I am sure that is what I will get. I think breakfast on our balcony would be perfect both on the days that we want to sleep in a little bit and hit the EMH at the MK. It is great they start at 6am!!

OK, believe it or not, I asked my kids how about a trip to WDW this summer......they don't want to go. They want to stay home and hang with their friends and not go or do anything. They say they have been there ENOUGH.

I've been planning my Disneymoon at the Grand Floridian for 7/10-7/19 for over a year now and I've been a member of the DIS since 2001 and I've never responded to any posts on this thread. Obviously, it's changed.

I saw that the GF has private dining on here and I am definitely going to do this. My fiance` has no idea. This is going ot be a pleasant surpise to her. I can't wait!

and had a fabulous week!!!!

Check in was actually very efficient - it took about 5 minutes and we didn't even miss the lemonade! It was a little confusing at first when we pulled up because there was no Concierge CM at the curb to greet us. I still think we should be greeted at the curb! We wandered around for a few minutes before I saw a podium to the left of the main entrance with a sign that said "Club Level Arrivals" or something like that ! Our CM was very nice and took us right up to our room and she took an imprint of our card, gave us our itinerary,etc. right there in the room! It was very fast and we definitely think it is much easier than going to the 3rd floor. It also frees up the 3rd floor CM's to help with guest ADR's,tickets,etc. So, I hope that puts everyone at ease about checkin! If your room is not ready, they check you in in the lounge.
I have to run but I'll update this afternoon about the rehab and the rest of our trip!! Hope you all had a great week,too!

I am glad it was a great stay & can't wait to read more. I just feel bad for the 3rd floor concierge staff because checkins were a large part of their jobs & they really enjoyed checking people in, know their stuff, and it makes for a welcoming and friendly experience - they are the regulars and remember us returning guests. Glad it went ok for you, though. I know I will miss that, though - if I ever get back there!!!!!!!!!!!

The 3rd floor CM's are fabulous and sooooo helpful. I can see how they would miss the interaction with guests at check in - they are definitely very helpful and knowledgeable!! We used them quite a bit with different surprises, switching ADR's, etc. and I can't say enough about them.

The check in was so quick though ( we didn't have any questions or anything) ,that we were able to grab a snack in the lounge, say hello to the 3rd floor CM's and change an ADR, and we were at MK literally a half an hour after arrival!

Ya, I don't get it. I loved when the 3rd floor concierge staff would say "Welcome back!" and make us feel like we were guests in their homes.

Don't worry about it, though, Kelly. If you want to put down cash, they will have to figure out how to do it. Whatever you want!! You're the guest and they will have to deal with it. You are going to have an awesome time.

Man! I want to go stay at the Grand again in RPC.....I have no RPC stays planned. Maybe over spring break.

They started rehabbing the Honeymoon Suites in RPC this week! SL is going to be started at the end of July/Beginning of August supposedly. I didn't want to be all nosy so I didn't ask about the other buildings since she didn't mention them.
On the subject of rehabs, a CM at one of the parks told us that Space Mountain is going down at the end of summer for an entire year!? This was the first I heard of it but mabye I'm out of the loop and it is old news!?
Anyway, back to the GF, it was awesome as usual!! DD was just saying a while ago, "If we were still at Grand Floridian ,we would be having scones and banana bread right now!!"
The food was great - love the breadsticks,veggies and dips!! Also, DD loves the kettle chips! The new cappuccino machine is great - tastes better than the old one but DD was bummed because it doesn't make hot chocolate!! but you can get hot water from it and they have hot chocolate packets. The "supper" offerings were different which was nice. Some we've never had before!

Someone asked what was on the kids table and we were only there for 3 nights at the 5-7 pm time frame, but they had turkey and cheese wraps, ham and cheese wraps and Uncrustables (pb&j). We've seen chicken and fish nuggets on previous trips. They always have cupcakes, rice krispy treats and brownies offered as well.

Housekeeping was great and we remarked about what good shape our room furnishings were in - the draperies looked brand new! I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this before, but they give new chocolates at turndown! They are delicious milk chocolate and the wrapped in foil, then in an ouside wrapper that has a picture of the GF in color on the front! They are precious - almost too precious too eat. ( But we ate them anyway!) Speaking of eating, so much for the 10 pounds I lost before I left,! I gained back 3 ! We ate so much- thank goodness we walked so much but I need to get the weight back off! I was not surprised - I did not say no to anything and having those darn cheese danishes and chocolate shingle cookies everyday don't help any!

Someone was asking about the pool cabanas. There were 2 for rent and 2 that were first come, first serve, that anyone could use and just had chairs in them. No one was using the rentals at all the 3 times we went to the pool!

Laundry is calling, more later!
